Favorite coen brothers movie

Recommended Posts

Guest 5_moves_of_doom

I personally am a HUGE Coen Brothers fan and love pretty much all of their movies. But the question remains, which one's the best? If you don't like the Coens, then don't post, but if you do, give your favorite movie of their's and maybe a sentence or two about why you like that particular movie better than the rest.

My favorite is the "Big Lebowski," for several reasons. I believe that this movie has the best atmosphere, the best charictures, the best script, and the best actors. John Goodmen plays his part perfectly and Jeff Bridges surprisingly does awesome as the perfect slacker.

Anyhoo, just for the fun of it, I'll put all the Coen's movies down in the order of greatness.

1.) Big Lebowski

2.) Fargo

3.) O Brother, Where Art Thou?

4.) The Man Who Wasn't There

5.) Hudsucker

6.) Blood Simple

7.) Raising Arizona

8.) Miller's Crossing

9.) Barton Fink

I personally like Raising Arizona the best, but they don't really have any bad movies.

I love the Big Lebowski.  Fargo is my second favorite but even it can't compete with the Big Lebowski.  I know there are some who don't like it but it is like no other movie out there.

I love them all, but Frago is the best in my opinion. I haven't seen Blood Simple or The Man Who Wasn't There though.

I thought Lebowski was great.  But my favorite is The Man Who Wasn't There.  They took a huge risk by making it b&w and while most people didn't seem to appreciate it... I thought it was great.  Great acting all around too.

Fargo is my favourite.

I really liked Blood Simple, and Raising Arizona kicks ass simply because of Leonard Smalls, the bounty hunter. Oh yeah!

The Big Lewbowski is my personal favorite. everybody in it played their part perfectly, and all the characters, even the background ones, were well written and compelling. I always thought Jesus was a cool character

Fargo was awesome too. Fargo also probably holds the honor of being a fictional movie that the most people believed to be a true story. Its either Fargo or the Blair Witch

The Big Lewbowski, whats not to like about the DUDE and the disgruental Vietnam vet played by Goodman or their obsession with bowling???

You don't want to F with Jesus!!!!!

The Big Lebowski. I wasn't quite sure what to make of it the first time I saw it. Then I ended up watching it every day for two months or something. I'm not even sure how to explain how great this movie is. Great dialogue, great acting, innovative story. Lots of stuff to think about. Plus it's funny as hell.
