Guest Report post Posted April 20, 2002 I'm sure everyone has realized this, but I didn't fully consider it until just now. Think about this. Mark Henry has had a considerable role on Smackdown and yet he hasn't wrestled a televised match in what.... 2 years? And he sucks anyway. And the gimmick they're trying to push sucks. It worked for a while when he first came in and then everyone was just "Ok...next please". I don't see much different happening this time. UNLESS, MARK HENRY EATS A 500 LB. CHOCOLATE PIE WHOLE NEXT WEEK! Take that into consideration... and then realize that Lance Storm hasn't wrestled on Smackdown since the split... actually, I can't remember the last time he wrestled outside of Metal and Heat since his match with RVD on Raw. Consider these things and then ask yourself how you maintain your sanity. Get back to me... I still haven't found my answer.

Guest Report post Posted April 20, 2002 Gotsta have a sense of humor. In its own field, laughter really is the best medicine. How do I deal with what I perceive as wrestlecrap material (the sight is semi-alive again, by the way)? Sarcasm and Satire. That's how I deal with most stuff, actually. They're up there with food and oxygen for me. Sarcasm, Satire, a healthy scathing sense of humor and well-meant ribbing and criticism. Either my own, Scott Keith's columns, or the comments of you the other people who use this board. That's how I get through it all. Don't let the Love It Or Leave It/If You Don't Like It Don't Watch It Morons brainwash you: just because you complain doesn't mean you don't love it. In fact, you love it more than the Blind Loyalists, because you point out the flaws so that they might be fixed and the "sport" you love so much thus improved. (And by the way, this applies to not just wrestling, but everything.)
Guest Report post Posted April 20, 2002 This is news to you? Remember a few months ago when Vince's ass was getting more tv time than Storm? Remember just weeks ago when dog shit and Steph were the central focus of the main event storyline going into the biggest ppv of the year? Remember how the WWF almost lost the services of one of the top stars in the history of the business because they wanted to push three has-beens ahead of him? Remember earlier today how the WWF decided to rig an online poll in favor of *Bradshaw*? The WWF does a lot of stupid things.
Guest notJames Report post Posted April 20, 2002 As always, when it comes to Vince McMahon, the bottom line is... the bottom line, i.e. money. Vince signed Mark Henry to a 10-year contract for a ton of dough. Back in '96 or '97 (I forget when he was signed), Vince had big prospects for the former Olympian, but Henry proved to be little more than a plodding, overweight strongman with minimal charisma. That in and of itself would probably tell a normal human being to put an end to the Sexual Chocolate Experiment. Unfornuately, Vinnie Mac's stuck with him for another four or five years, so he's gotta get some kind of return on his investment. Otherwise, he's got a big useless slug sitting at home taking money for nothing (sound familiar? *cough*goldberg*cough*). So, Henry gets TV time, lifting limos and "setting records", while Lance Storm and his minimum base salary get to stand on the sidelines making side bets with Funaki and Val Venis. Don't you just love being a wrestling fan?
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted April 20, 2002 Vince seriously signed Mark Henry for 10 years? That's the longest I've ever heard of for a wrestling contract... man did he get screwed. Are there any other wrestlers who have signed for contracts that long?
Guest notJames Report post Posted April 20, 2002 Big Show. Gotta love how Vince's mind works, huh?

(And by the way, this applies to not just wrestling, but everything.) Some people here whine just for the sake of whining. Do you believe all the complaints here are valid ones? And on that note ... Remember earlier today how the WWF decided to rig an online poll in favor of *Bradshaw*? Oh, I completely agree that thing was fixed. I mean, just look at how Bradshaw's match with Scott Hall has been hyped more than anything else on the card! WWF ... we know. We know.
Guest Report post Posted April 20, 2002 We can always hope something heavy falls on Mark Henry while he is lifting it. And what poll is everyone referring to?

It just happens that I was thinking of this particular situation while I was sitting down doing nothing.
Guest Report post Posted April 20, 2002 Oh, okay, I found it. No guys it's not rigged. You're all probably just reading it wrong. It says "Which match at Backlash is the biggest factor in your suicide contemplations?". I voted the same as everyone else.

Guest muzanisa Report post Posted April 20, 2002 My theory is that the whole, shag a transvestite, get Mae Young pregnant was to get him to quit. When that didn't work they sent him to OVW. That didn't work so now they're going to push him. I'd like that to be true just because I can get the mental picture of Vince + the writers sitting in a production meeting going what are we going to do to get rid of him? In two months expect a Mark Henry fucks Goats angle.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 20, 2002 bring back Roaddog and K-Kwick and form a rap group with Mark Henry as Notorious Big......I love when they call me big pappa!!!!! Its money in the bank.
Guest Brian Report post Posted April 20, 2002 Mark Henry had the highest contract when he signed, as it was a WCW-style contract (high pay, little incentives), 10 million over ten years. I think Austin and Rock both make a base of three million if they reach their minimium dates, plis merchandising but for a guy who's basically worth nothing, that's a ton of money floating around. Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 21, 2002 where exactly is this Strong Man character leading up to? Who is going to challenge Mark Henry to a real match.....Scott "Flash" Norton, Samuel Samuelson, Magnus ver Magnuson, Viscera? Or will this eventually lead up to a interpromotional match of Big Show vs Mark Henry?

Guest X-Factor Corperation Report post Posted April 22, 2002 So, Henry gets TV time, lifting limos and "setting records", while Lance Storm and his minimum base salary get to stand on the sidelines making side bets with Funaki and Val Venis. Storm'll get his time. He just arrived, he needs to wait. They are pushing Hardcore Holly, and how long did that take? Speaking of Funaki, it's true BS that the one time he gets a singles victory they don't air it. Do they really think Lance Storm is going to be hurt by one loss to Funaki on Metal? I mean Funaki's more marketable then him...
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted April 22, 2002 Do they really think Lance Storm is going to be hurt by one loss to Funaki on Metal? I mean Funaki's more marketable then him... Yeah, because Funaki has been more over than Storm was in WCW, right?
