Guest Report post Posted April 20, 2002 Again as I have limited material, espically for this time period I think actually One of the best matches of 88 was done at Royal Rumble 88, and the match was the Glamour Girls vs Jumping Bomb Angels now, your gonna go..HUH? But hear me out.. The Jumpin Bomb Angels kicked ass brought over alot of Japanese wrestling moves that at the time was completely alien to us, The Glamour girls could only try to catch up, the JBA just bytch slapped them and won the meaningless WWF womens tagteam titles. Im sure on a male wrestling standpoint there may be a better match. if there wasn't any interference from Andre or Hogan the Savage vs Dibiasi match would have ruled all, but Hogan NEEDED to be at least appearingin the main event. and Andre had to be the Catayst for that end. Ricky Steamboat vs Greg Valentine and Savage vs Valentine for that matter were both great matches at WM4 now its your turn tell me and the others what match or event you liked in 1988? Guest Tony149 Report post Posted April 20, 2002 I'll say Flair vs. Sting from the 1st Clash of the Champions. In my opinion, the whole Clash card was the best wrestling event of the year.
Guest WWF4Life Report post Posted April 20, 2002 I remember the U.S. title match from Clash 3 between Sting and Barry Windham being excellent. Actually, that was the first NWA event I ever saw. Also, I watched Starrcade '88 last week, which is a great event IMO, and that has a great Flair-Luger title match. Damn, I loved the NWA in the late 80's. Guest Andy Report post Posted April 20, 2002 I thought Bulldogs vs Rougeaus from SummerSlam was the most underrated in '88. Andy

Guest Drury37 Report post Posted April 20, 2002 I would say the match of the year is Sting Vs. Ric Flair from the first WCW/NWA Clash of the Champions. Thanks.

Guest Crasper Report post Posted April 21, 2002 Clash 1 is brilliant. The whole Midnights v Fantastics series was great. There's a fantastic match (which I think was a rematch from the Clash) between the teams from Chatanooga, Tn which is even better than the Clash match. WWF wise- the Jumping Bomb Angels were indeed great, but 88 remains one of the weakest years for the WWF. After a hugely sucessful 87, a lot of what they did was very flat. Compare WM4 to 3 for instance.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted April 22, 2002 Demolition destroying the Strike Force (WM4) Savage winning the WWF title for the first time (WM4) Summerslam Main Event (SS) Bulldogs vs. Rougeaus is very underrated and a great opener (SS)
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 23, 2002 Clash 1 is awesome. While Sting-Flair may not technically be a great match you just get so into it you cant helping hope Sting just kills Flair. There's this one part where Sting is killing Flair and just yells: DOES THIS TOWN KNOW HOW TO PARTY OR WHAT??? And the crowd just explodes. It just brings a smile to my face
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted April 23, 2002 Sting was always good at yelling out cheesy line.
