Most rediculous sports movie

Recommended Posts

Guest Shaved Bear

there have been many many rediculous sports movies, and which one is the most rediculous is hard to come by, but m presenting a few options

Little Big League (little kid owning a team, cmon)

Rookie of the Year (arent there age restrictions)

Ed (isnt there a human-only policy in baseball)

Over the Top (is arm wrestling a sport? well if it is, this is certainly bad)

Ready to Rumble (less said...better)

Those two movies with the Golden Retriever

Any im missing?

What are the Worst?

Most Valuable Primate series-  Think of it as "Ed- The Movie Franchise" instead of just a one-shot piece of crap.

Eddie- Whoopi Goldberg is pulled off the streets to coach the Knicks.  Considering their recent coaching woes, I could see this happening, but I still don't want to watch a movie about it.

Major League 2-  This is probably the biggest example of how NOT to make a sequel.

Rollerball (2002)-  Everyone else is already making Rollerball jokes, so why kick a dead horse?

Any one of the numerous "Animal Plays Sports" movies and their subsequent sequels and sequals to the sequels..

Said it in the sports forum, and I will say it here.

Ready to Rumble, is bad in ways I didn't think it could be bad.

I almost gave up wrestling after I watched this movie.

BTW, I always thought and heard that Major League 3 was the worst of the three.

I would have to say that Major League 3 was one of the most ridiculous sports moives I have ever seen, and the worst of the Major League movies as well.

I went to see the movie in theatres, and within 5 minutes I was already lost as to the plot.  I would have at least figured they would mentioned what the Indians were doing in an offhand way.  Perhaps having them beat the tar out of the overpaid and lazy Twins, and mention how they are a powerhouse now who won the World Series or something.

Another thing that annoyed me was how you had the Twins being overpaid and underachieving, and how the Buzz were overachieving and doing great, yet there was no real movement between the teams.  Why not do what they would do in real baseball and either trade or place on waivers some of the underachieving players, and call up some of the minor league guys?  Sheesh.  You have Cerrano, the dumb catcher guy, and the Japanese guy, all of whom helped lead the Indians to the World Series in the past movie, yet they are stuck in minors even after they solve their problems?  Is this team ran by complete idiots or something?  Oy.  What a terrible movie.

As for Ready to Rumble, it seems like some of the wrestlers in that movie ran into some bad luck.  Sid had that nasty injury, Juvi gets high on ecstasy and gets fired, DDP jobs to Undertaker's wife, Saturn fell in love with a mop, and seemingly everyone else in that movie is either retired or stuck in WWA.

Sometimes I wonder how the heck they think movies like those two are actually good, and should be released in theatres.  Anything for a quick buck, I guess...

BASEketball for sheer stupidity...

Uh..The Big Green (disney soccer movie) wasnt that bad.  Certainly better than Ladybugs as far as soccer movies go.
