Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 23, 2004 With registrations being re-opened on April 20th 2004 a guide to help the new members of the board mesh with the old posters seemed appropriate. 1.) Don’t make a thread for every little news bit – Major stories are encouraged but stuff like “Ivory loses her cat” or stuff like that isn’t. If you see a bunch of stuff from PWI or another site just throw it all in one thread. We also have the thread with all the wrestling news sites pinned, so unless you think it’s a topic that is going to encourage a lot of discussion try to refrain. 2.) Refrain from flaming – Flames should be taken to the HardCore Discussion Forum. That’s what its there for. More often than not a thread with great discussion going on is derailed with meaningless insults. Help keep the discussion flowing, don’t hinder it. 3.) Don’t use a lot of emotes – Making posts which are basically a bunch of the smiley faces tend to annoy the other posters. Coming to have conversation and needing to scroll through large amounts of smileys would agitate anybody. Use them with discretion. 4.) Large Quotes + Short response = Bad – Now and then you’ll have to quote another poster so your answer makes sense. If you do have to then make sure you do a couple of things. Cut out the parts of the quote, which have nothing to do with your response. Shortening it is just common courtesy. If you agree with somebody’s point and want to let that be know don’t quote the whole thing and add, “I agree”. Instead rather than quoting Poster A if they haven’t made another post since just say “I Agree with the points made by ‘Poster A’”. If they have posted since and you feel like letting it be know you agree with the poster then by all means quote them and say “I agree with this”. Just don’t forget to explain why you also agree with it, as it adds to the conversation 5 Have Fun – Everybody here is here to have fun. Keep that in mind and do your best to keep it a fun place. Sometimes a person will try to bait you into a flame war. If this occurs ignore them or go to HardCore Discussion with them. If you do choose to ignore it and they continue on then notify one of the WWE Forum Mods with the PM option. If that doesn’t work contact a Super Mod. Sooner or later it will be dealt with, so don’t let it discourage you. Thank you for joining and enjoy the WWE Forum.
