I just bought the game today as an impulse buy. I bought NCAA MArch Madness 2002 yesterday and played it all night but I couldn't live with myself if I bought a sports game that doesn't have a season mode in it. I took the game back and ended up buying Freedom Force for the PC. I had seen pictures of it in a magazine that my friend left at m house and thought that it was a very good concept for a game (RPG-ish superhero game) and remembered it. I ended up buying it because the store didn't have Gangsters 2. The store did me a favor because I just bought the first Gangsters game and Freedom Force. From what I read, Gangsters 22 sucks and Gangsters is the better of the two. Freedom Force however has drawn rave reviews everywhere and I found a site with over a thousand fan created heros that are original or from the Marvel and DC universes. I think I may have gotten more than I bargained for. Anyone played it before and what are your thoughts on this game? I'm about to play this sumitch right now.

I started playing it and got knee deep into it very quickly. A couple of things have disappointed me thus far. Some of the created skins I downloaded didn't work (I was looking forward to playing the game as the Fantastic 4 or the X-Men) and I only have been able to use the Superman that I have twice. He was kickng a lot of ass during the two missions I used him on and I kept the other two team members outof the way. I'm kind of new to RPG games so I don't know much about using the telepathic Mentor and favor melees. Since people either don't have the game or don't care to discuss it on this forum, I would like to just float out these questions and wait for a response. What is the most effective way to use a guy like Mentor, and how do I get some of these skins that I have downloadedto appear in the game (I am certain that I put them in the right directories)?

I uninstalled the demo a few days ago, so I can't help you there (I even created a quick She-Hulk skin).

 

But when it comes to installing skins for games in general, just make doubly sure they're in the right directories. Sometimes, the skinmaker will zip it up, and include the directory names in the zip file. So, if you try to unzip it into, say, c:\freedom force\skins\evil_hot_chick\basic (I'm just making up these directory names), it'll end up in c:\freedom force\skins\evil_hot_chick\basic\evil_hot_chick\basic, because the skin maker already provided the right directory in the zip file.

I have heard that some of the demo skins don't work with the real game. I really want to use some of these skins that I have downloaded. The ones that I have tried and that work are- Batman (TAS), Batman (60's version), Spiderman, Spiderman 2099, Dean Cain as Superman, 40's Superman, Jon Stewart, Ion, Nightcrawler, The Thing, Robin, The New Superman (Blue and Red Costumes), Storm, Cable, Beast, the Crow, Black Daredevil, Bullseye and Banshee. I have a lot of X-Men skins that don't work or haven't showed up (Wolverine, Cyclops, Magneto, Angel, Colossus to name a few) and the only Fantastic 4 skin that I have that worked was The Thing. Anyone who can help me?

Also, I think the models from the Demo were renamed in the full version, so you may just have to copy the skins into the correct directory.

The skins usually have some kind of description in their filename that indicates where it should. There are ones that aren't showing up when I try to access them in the game.
