Rene' Dupree

Recommended Posts

I just caught the "Cafe de Dupree" segment.

Aside from Torrie's poor acting, it really made Dupree look like a star. The poodle is annoying and a great addition, and Dupree came off as a real asshole.

I guess I've been waiting to see a dude throw a glass of wine in a woman's face for once. Haha.

I think Cena/Dupree can work, but I hope:

1) Torrie doesn't "fall for Dupree" or turn heel next week...I assume she will, though.

2) Cena doesn't drop the U.S. title.

3) Dupree gets a new graphic on Smackdown!. Come on, the show already looks stale. Update the graphics when the guy gets a new look, new tights, and new hair color.

Anyway...guess I'm looking forward to *something* Smackdown! could deliver...hope it works.

That segment was only good in that it got Rene over more as a heel for his feud with John Cena, which got weak hype this (last) week, just like everything else.

Turning Torrie heel and siding with Cena would be something just stupid enough for WWE to do, considering that they already ripped-off Raw in the tag team division at WrestleMania XX.

For the inevitable Cena/Dupree match, the hype so far has been very weak, like it was for Cena/Show at WrestleMania, because instead of consistent, interesting build that the creative team are paid to come up with, they just made sure to keep them at odds for about 5 months. Morons.

And Torrie wasn't traumatised after seeing a man thrown from 25 feet to hard cement? And they gave something for Show that requires a follow-up right when he's about to go under the knife?

I swear, they must flip a coin for which show's getting a shitty year at the start of each.

Anyway, back to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - it makes more sense.

[AndrewTS mode]Of course she will. Who HASN'T Torrie fallen for?[/AndrewTS mode off]

Wrestling-wise, I don't think Cena vs. Dupree will be good, but hopefully watchable since Cena hasn't even been all that stale in the ring anymore (his raps have, though, and the "Deeze nuts!" shit has to go), and Dupree's not as bad as Grenier at least.

Unfortunately, Dupree oversold that slap like all hell. Dupree should not have BUDGED from it.

Falling for Cena is more likely, since Torrie has been a face forever, and as bad as she is as a face, she'd be EVEN WORSE as a heel.

The classic version, I hope.

Dupree did oversell the slap, French pansy or not.

Torrie should be a tweener, getting face pops because she's got some nice curves on her - I'm not a chauvenist, that's just the way it should be with women in the wrestling business that can't, well, wrestle.

And not to get off-topic, but damn straight the classic version. I bought both films on DVD today (well, yesterday - it's currently 2:49 AM here), the classic for $8.94 and $29.67 for the remake. I could've bought an ECW DVD for the same price as the classic, but thought that buying both would be nice.

As for the classic, as far as a horror film goes, ****1/4.

I'll watch the remake soon.

The price?

The Australian dollar is worth less than yours.

"29.67 for the remake"

Why???

They released two versions of the 2nd one. One is a bare bones DVD with just the movie and one disc. The other is a 2-disc special edition with tons of extras.

Speaking of Rene, did he get new theme music or does he still have the La Resistance theme?

Well, with him throwing wine in Torrie's face made it 4 me.

Genius.

Yah the coffee in the face was a nice touch. And for the first time running the segment for him it did it's job. I like the fact that they are at least trying to develop some personality for him and not immediately burying him like on Raw. Let's see where they go with it in the next few weeks.

I picked up the one-disc edition, with just a theatrical trailer.

I'm pretty sure that that's all that was available, but if not, I'll be pissed.

I'm not sure if it's available in Region 4.

Haha, this thread sure got off-track.
