Quick question about DVD ripping / converting

Like when you copy off a DVD, is there anyway to make the scene as fluid on the screen as it is when you pop in the original disc into a DVD player?

DVD Decrypter, DVD2AVI, and TMPGE.

For TMPGEnc:

 

Ctrl+N will ask you if you want to reset the current project. Choose ok.

 

Settings button near the bottom next to the Save and Load buttons and the Status bar:->MPEG Settings Dialog->Video Tab

 

Click on the Rate Control Mode drop down box and choose 2pass VBR. The default 2Pass VBR settings should be fine, but if you want to change them press the Settings button to the right. This should fix most of the problems with scene changes and general blockiness. Don't use this if you want to make a video CD with the file, if you are just using it on your computer then you won't have any trouble.

 

Then at the bottom of the dialog box there is a setting for Motion search precision. Change that to High Quality (slow) or Highest Quality (very slow).

 

The above will increase the encoding time, likely double or more.
