Guest Report post Posted April 25, 2002 They really have to have Doc Oc in the sequel. I can understand having the Green Goblin in the first one, because he is more recognized, but Doc Oc is a more important villian/character in the comic that GG. Goblin is much more important. He killed Gwen.
Guest Report post Posted April 26, 2002 I think Doc Oc was more important. Hes been around almost from the beginning, and by the time Goblin killed Gwen, Peter Parker was somewhat involved with Mary Jane, plus Doc Oc was going to marry Aunt May, which was as much a plague on Peters mind as the death of Gwen, if not more so
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 26, 2002 Nah, the death of Gwen Stacy was a much more defining event than the Doc Ock/Aunt May romance. Sure, Doc Ock has appeared in more stories than GG, but the Goblin had much more impact on Spidey's life. He knew Peter's identity, he kicked off the clone saga, killed Gwen, had his own son Harry adopt the Goblin identity, and spun off the Hobgoblin, who was arguably Spidey's top villain of the 80s. Guest Risk Report post Posted April 30, 2002 I would rather not see Spidey face a horde of "super-villians". I hope they don't bring Venom and Carnage in. If there is sequels, there should be NO MORE then three. We don't want Spidey to become like the Batman movies. Lets all hope it won't be like the X-Men movie. Ugh. Guest Risk Report post Posted May 2, 2002 If Doc Ock is in the second, than Harry as the Goblin will probally be in three.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted May 2, 2002 Anyone remember the trilogy of Spidy comics when Gwen came back, and there was a new Goblin, it was during the HORRIBLE Spidy Clones era.
Guest Report post Posted May 2, 2002 Goblin is much more important. He killed Gwen. Yeah, that makes him more important in the comic, but Gwen doesn't exist in the movie version of the "Spider-Man universe". So Green Goblin is more of a "cool, well known, introduction type" villian to set up future sequels.
