Ground Rules for Misc. Promotions

Recommended Posts

Well, since this folder is getting increasingly heavy traffic, and also because it is not moderated all that heavily (as the Dave O'Neill fiasco proved) the administrative crew, in their infinite wisdom (or not) decided to put me in charge of this section of the board.

So here's what's gonna happen, the usual board rules will be enforced much more strictly than before (because let's face it, because of the lack of moderation in this a couple of you are DAMN lucky to still be allowed to post, and you know who you are). In particular, the rules that will be adhered to the most will be:

1. No Spamming: ie NO starting threads strictly to promote/shill material on other (non-TSM) sites, with no opinion or other worthwhile material added in. There will be a zero tolerance policy on this -any threads of this nature will promptly be reported to the admin crew and will be followed by a banning. The exception to this rule will be music videos and other media files, because let's face it, they're cool and help bring exposure of worthy promotions, wrestlers, and independent wrestling in general to fans.

2. No Flaming: Past threads (particularly XPW-related material and the recent Rob Feinstein situation) have devolved into personal attacks/flaming and other related immaturity. Again, the second a thread is taken off-topic and turns into an ignorant smiley, profanity and net jargon-laden flamefest, it will also promptly be reported and likely result in a banning, depending on the discretion of the administrative crew.

2a: The Dave O'Neill Precedent: If you're gonna bash something, you BETTER have seen it and can back your shit up with logical, rational and WELL-WRITTEN opinion, this is otherwise known as "no idiocy."

To me, these have been the most prevalent problems in this forum, and it shouldn't be too hard to not do these things. Other than that, nothing will really change, so let's have some fun!
