Mearl267 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 I was sick today, and was homebound so I wrote some stuff. Peep it. Backstory The industy is in a slump. A bad one. There's only one major federation (WWE), with competition far and between. Vince McMahon knows this, and decides to act on it. He calls together an emergancy meeting, involving himself, Linda, Steph, Shane, EB, Heyman, Crips, Taker, HBK and the world champ Chrispen WAH. Details are discussed, and Vince McMahon lets everybody know that he has come to a decision. The brand split is no more. Why? Because Smackdown has been cancelled. Vince states that he knew it was coming, and tried to keep it under wraps as it would devestate the roster, and rightfully so. Vince states that Johnny Ace will be doing a MASSIVE talent cut, and only the best will be kept for Raw, Heat and Velocity to go on. After this is said, the room is kind of quiet, and Vince eventually breaks it and states his new 40 wrestler, 5 non wrestler, 5 managers (valet) roster: Workers Beniot, Guerrero, RVD, Taker, HBK, Bigshow, Flair, HHH, Jericho, Edge, Cena, Benjamin, Batista, Booker T, Christian, Bradshaw, Kane, Orton, Haas, Matt, Rey, Rhyno, Rico, Tajiri, Bubba, Chavo, Dvon, Rene Dupree, Spike, Conway, Steiner, Moore, Noble, Danny B, Doug B, London, Kidman, Gunn, A Train, Storm Non Wrestlers Heyman, Angle, EB, Tazz, Foley (McMahons are in like sin no matter what, though) Managers Torrie, Trish, Miss Jackie, Teddy Long, William Regal Relieved that they haven't been cut, the guilt starts to kick in the wrestlers in the room. They have a lot of friends losing jobs, and they get to keep theres. Vince says thats business, and he's right. Beniot asks what is going to happen to his world title. Vince says the plan right now is to combine the WWE title and the World title, and have one undisputed champion. But now, since there are going to be so many big names on one show, Vince doesn't know, and can't promise Benwah that lengthy title run. Vince decides to end the meeting, and at the same time releases the press note on the situation. Business continues as usual on the following Monday... Raw preview: -Vince's 'state of the company' address. -Wrestler's responses to the recent happenings. -Crispen WAH vs Eddy G, Undisputed title match
Mearl267 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Raw -Show starts off rather quietly, and almost instantly [Vinnie Mac makes the walk down to the ring. He looks rather upset, even desperate. He talks about SD being canned, the talent cuts, and literally breaks kayfabe 100 times over. The fans listen, though, and Vinny Mac promises to bring the product back to the top, starting tonight with a Beniot/Guerrero title vs title unification match. The fans seem pleased enough with that announcement. Vince also states that EB and Paul E Dangerously will assume the head GM roles. (Hrmm...2 heel gms, on one show...should be nice). Vince is then cut short by his freakin' son, Criples H. Crips is pissed about the main event, yada yada yada...Vince tells HHH something EB would neva eva (NEVA EVA) say, in "screw off". Mc leaves the ring, and HHH does on a tirade about nothing. -John Cena Vs Jamie Noble, non title match Ending - Cena wins with the FU, however is attacked by a returning Scott Steiner. Steiner looks HUGE and almost eats Cena alive. Steiner then cut a good promo about his return, and Cena just being in the right place, at the wrong time. I don't think this is the end of Cena and Steiner. -Heyman is backstage, and talking with Torrie Wilson when he is approached by Trips. He goes off on Paul saying how he sahould be in the main event. Paul says he knows exactly what to do, and sets up a HHH vs Jericho #1 contender match for later on. Crips is pissed. (A Heyman face turn? Seems logical) -Kurt Angle comes down to the ring, and has some comments on the recent happenings (Yes, he is wheelchair bound, as to keep the angle going). He is NOT happy about being ousted as GM, and he is also not happy that TBS threw him off of a freakin scaffold. He says revenge will be sweeter, for everyone involved in his recent misfortunes. COMMERCIAL BREAK So, we see Vince announce it live, and he gives us Beniot Vs Guerrero later. Nice. Also, we see the return of Steiner, and I know Cena isn't going to drop this easily. Heyman face turn? Well, he's trying to fuck with Crips, so that's cool. Jericho in the world title scene?? Nahh...can't be. Angle about to go on a Shamrock esq rampage? Should be good, aslong as it doesn't end in Angle vs Bigshow, or something lame like that. -Charlie Haas/Rico (W/Miss Jackie) Vs The Dudleys, Non Title Ending - Haas gets the victory, with a little outside interference from RVD. Haas and Rico leave, however, and RVD is left in the ring all alone with the Dudleys. The Duds get there revenge on RVD, and the crowd is literally left hanging. -HHH makes his way back down to the ring, only this time he has Evolution backing him. Paul Heyman comes out, and tells the rest of Evolution to leave ringside. EB comes out, and says screw that, he's making this match a lumberjack match! Out comes Christian, Trish, and A Train -Lumberjack match, Jericho Vs Trips, #1 contender match Ending - Jericho was ganged up on throughout the whole match, but he actually was able to hit some offense every so often. The end, however, saw the ref getting knocked down, and Christian hitting the Unprettier on Y2J. Trips capitalized, and hit Jere with a pedigree, and got the pin. What followed was a severe 7 on 1 beatdown untill he was saved by Beniot, Edge, Guerrero, and HBK. -With the after affects of the last match remaining, a video is shown hyping up the main event for later on, Guerrero Vs Beniot, Undisputed title match. COMMERCIAL BREAK Ok so far. RVD and the Dudleys are continuing there fued. I see some Spike involvement in this one. The lumberjack match was alright. It established Y2J as a star (again) as it seemed at times he almost had it won. It was also nice seeing both Beniot, and Guerrero come for the save. Can't wait for there match. -Rhino Vs Bobby Orton Jr, IC Title match Ending - Let's face it...Rhyno never had a chance. Orton is steemrolling to the top, and I don't see anyone stopping him. He botched an RKO for the win. Afterwards, Shelten Benjamin came out to the ramp and challanged RO to a match next week. RO declined, and instead told him to go back to the minors. A brawl erupted, and it looks like we have a Benjamin Orton match on our hands somewhere down the line. -Chrispen and Eddy G are seen backstage chatting. They wish each other good luck, and the tension seems to be building, as this match could make or break either one of them. -Eb is approached by Y2J in the back, and is told that he wants a match with anyone involved in his recent beatdown. EB agrees, and gives him a Trish/Christian/A Train vs Jere next week. Jere doesn't seem to care, and is actually happy. -Chris Beniot Vs Eddy Guerrero, for the Undisputed title Ending -GREAT match, which saw all the spots you would expect to see. The ending, however, was a letdown when naturally, Triple H came down to the ring and interfered. The ref called for the bell, and ruled the match a no contest. Heyman came out and decided to restart the match, but itstead it would be a triple threat, with HHH involved! The match goes on, untill Edge comes out, and hits HHH with the spear on the outside, while Beniot has the crossface on Eddy in the ring. Eddy taps! Beniot's the new undisputed champion of the WWE! -After the match, HHH leaves, and Beniot and Eddy have a moment in the ring. (Edge is also gone by this time). Beniot and Eddy shake hands, and Beniot is cheapshotted! The oldest trick in the book. Eddy is immediatly booed (Beniot is SO over), as he then spits in the face of Cris. The show ends on that note... OVER ALL THOUGHTS Good show, I think (heh). Orton/Benjamin is cool...aswell as the 3 on 1 match next week. Beniot being the champ is awesome, and the Eddy turn was unexpected. This feud should play out well. But where does HHH stand now? Will Eddy side with Trips? Who knows, but next week should be good. Next show is Velocity, so we'll see ya there.
Mearl267 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 WWE News and Rumors -The point of having Scott Steiner return and feud with Cena is simply this: Cena is over, Scott used to be, and the WWE wants him over again. It's a shame, but the actual plans are for Steiner to go over Cena in this feud. Watch out for the mega Cena depush as the roster is pretty robust at the moment. -The current plans are for A Train to start teaming up with Christian. -Eddy's heel turn was a success for the company, in there eyes. A Beniot, Guerrero feud sounds great, and the WWE seems to be headed in the right direction with this. HHH still seems to be lurking around, and I see him involved in the feud majorly. -Kurt Angle's promo on Raw is said to be very true, and from the heart. Kurt feels he is getting shafted on this whole deal, and is generally upset. Expect a lot of raw emotion from Angle in the upcoming weeks. (I mean come on, he was in one freakin segment on Raw!) -Undertaker is set to debut on Raw in 2-3 weeks. His role is still undetermined, and the WWE may actually bring some one in for him to feud with. -Goldberg and the WWE have actually came to an agreement on a contract, but the details are unknown. It might be a PPV work only deal, which is kind of expected. -Raw pulled in a 4.1 rating, which is decent. Velocity results will be posted tomorrow.
