Guest Some Guy Report post Posted April 22, 2002 Edge/ Angle was the best metch. Hogan won, why all the bitching? If you've followed the WWF then you had to know he was going to win. I'm not a fan of Hogan's ringwork, but you have to admit that he is way over right now, and this is an improvement over HHH. I haven't read the rest of this thread but did anyone else notice that when HHH was on offense there was NO reaction at all, except for the Pedigree and when Hogan was on the roof was popping off? Vince made the right move tonight, now the question is will he make the right move next month?
Guest Brian Report post Posted April 22, 2002 Match of the night was definately Kidman vs. Tajiri. Eddie/RVD had RVD blow his load early, Edge and Angle really lacked a story and some pacing (with a little intermittent stalling), and Austin/Undertaker was slow, though decent. I was disappointed with no Regal/Spike. It was a decent show. WTF did they think having Hogan win. They should have just turned HHH, he playing a fine heel working the middle portion of the match. Guest Blue Bacchus Report post Posted April 22, 2002 Thank you! I agree with this guy, 100%. Unless Hogan drops the title tommorow night, I'm never watching this BULLSHIT again. Don't let the Door hit your ass on the way out. The PPV tonight was average, HHH lost the belt, RVD performed, Eddy performed, several title changes and a kick ass Cruiser match.... What else do you Self Proclaimed Smarks want out of WWFE?? Jesus to come out on RAW and kick off the Second Coming?!? There's just no way to please some of you guys at all. Vince made the right move tonight, now the question is will he make the right move next month? Hogan is over, but that does not translate into drawing money. Hogan is always over when he first enters a company, and usually the bookers think this translates into giving him the title, and it always backfires when he losses his drawing ability, yet stays in power and ultimately hurts the company. People only remember the good of Hogan, such as his fame in the 80's and the NWO, while refusing to remember him nearly killing the WWF in the 90's and actually killing WCW in 2000. It always starts out as "just one more time" and "he's going to retire right after this" but it never ends that way, and Hogan has already proved that time and time again. This will hurt the company, and that's the bottom line.

Guest Kinetic Report post Posted April 22, 2002 Angle/Edge is MOTY so far, in my opinion. Hogan winning the title should prove to be a fairly effective short-term solution, so long as they know where to draw the line. Cross your fingers, I guess. Hogan/HHH in itself was not a truly terrible match in the way that Hall/Bradshaw and even Austin/Undertaker was. Chalk it up to heavy choreography, but Hogan's managed to pull out another match that technically sucks but was still pretty entertaining to watch. Other than that, Tajiri/Kidman, Jazz/Trish, and Eddie/RVD were good. One of the better PPVs of the year so far, frankly.
Guest Report post Posted April 22, 2002 No no no. It's the Bethlehem Bomb, a powerbomb where he brings them up like normal, but makes them float in place while he chills in the corner. With a thumbs-down, they are driven to the mat. To console his opponent afterwards, he gives them wine and soda crackers, saying "this hurts me more than you." HHH will not lay down for Jesus, bringing his winning streak to an end and destruction to the Earth.

Guest bcu1979 Report post Posted April 22, 2002 I didn't order the PPV. I think this is about only the second time since I started to really get back into the WWF again in 1999 that I have not ordered a PPV. And from the sounds of the results, I made the right decision. I won't complain about the Hogan win because it was going to happen eventually and better now when the nostalgia pop is still strong. But Judgment Day sure is not getting off to a good start with a Hogan/Taker main event. The Torch really ripped into the two main event matches and they usually praise every Triple H match, so that scares me at how bad a Taker/Hogan match could be. Also, what was the point of building up this Hogan/Jericho story the last few weeks if it's not going anywhere? Hogan's wrestling Taker now and Jericho appears to be left out in the cold again unless they're doing something with Triple H again. Maybe they'll actually do the feud right this time without Stephanie involved. But it seemed like they set-up Triple H/Taker, which makes no sense with them being on different shows now. I'm just getting online and haven't looked through this thread yet, so if somebody already mentioned this, I'm sorry, but did anybody else think that JR killed that RVD/Eddy match? Not that it was all that good anyway, but he called RVD's highspots like he was dead or something. And WHY is Eddy the champ??? Why take the belt off of RVD??? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE INSTANT REPLAY RULE????? 3. Austin and Taker don't work well together with Austin as a face. And maybe for storylines' sake, they wanted Flair to do a poor officiating job, but DAMN!!!!! I was into the PPV up until his slow ass counts started. And again...WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE INSTANT REPLAY RULE??!??!? 4. Poor Lita. 5. Cruiserweight Title match was the match of the night IMO. Edge and Angle was good, but it took me a little longer to get into that one...and that "bring the foreign object into the match to distract the ref" thing was definitely overused tonight. 6. I marked out for the finish of that HHH/Hogan match, but for all the wrong reasons. I hated Hogan as a mark, and I hate him even more as a smark. If HHH had pedigreed him after that match, this would've been the greatest PPV since...well...Wrestlemania...even though it's the only--SHUT UP! Also, to everybody saying how Hogan being champion is gonna ruin the WWF and how they'll stop watching, I think you're overreacting a little bit, although I don't see the logic in taking the title off of HHH at this point in his title reign...and DAMN IT...WHERE THE HELL WAS THE INSTANT REPLAY RULE??!?!?!?! That's it.

Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 22, 2002 My thoughts on Backlash (ppv of the year so far IMO) - Missed the Kidman Tajiri match because I was out picking up a video tape. I was pissed wanted to see that one and heard it was good. - Bradshaw and Hall sucked (as expected). The best part was Faarooq kicking X-PAc's ass - Jazz should get a long run as champ - Maybe Brock powerbombed Jeff Hardy into a new gimmick (we can hope). Also, I know a lot of people think she is ugly, but Lita looked hot to me tonight. Brock was awesome - Edge and Angle was a really good match, a lot better then I expected. Highlights included Angle's white boots and the near falls towards the end. Angle was gold when he hit himself in the head with the chair. Glad to see him get the win. The crowd was hot for Edge though at every near fall it seemed. - I was surprised that Eddie Guererro won the IC title since he was just coming back, was having problems before he left I thought they would want to have him prove himself a little longer. RVD's title reign just started so I was pretty shocked when Eddie won. The part of the match I was most surprised about was that it was very one-sided. RVD won't be moving up after tonight like some people expected. This match was all Eddie and when he hit the frog splash he did it after not too much cheating and a long amount of gloating. Where does this leave RVD? - Undertaker and Austin seemed like a comedy match at the beginning with al the mannerisms displayed by both participants (middle fingers, boxing stance, arm drags etc.) Ric Flair's red boots didn't help. Flair was not a good ref. His counts were pretty bad IMO. It also was an overbooked mess. What was the point of NWO and X-pac looked rediculous wearing Kane's mask the whole time. Guest ref, #1 contender match, NWO out just watching, ref bumps, chairs, and all over the arena brawling. The match had no flow at all. - Billy & Chuck should get a long run, and it's all because of Rico. His facial expressions are great. All his little mannerisms crack me up as well. Did anyone think that Chuck caught Maven with the jungle kick rather convincingly? This match was surprisngly entertaining. - I still don't know what to think of the main event. Hogan is over, but for how long? HHH isn't as over, but I thought his match tonight showed some improvement from him. Does this set up Jericho and HHH again? How long does Hogan get the belt? Does it go to the Undertaker next month? If it keeps changing every month it will be devalued, but if it's on Hogan when his heat starts to die it will seem devalued. Interesting to see what happens. -Closing thought: Too bad no one got hit by one of those hooks.

Guest papacita Report post Posted April 22, 2002 Also, I know a lot of people think she is ugly, but Lita looked hot to me tonight. She did, but she looked like she was in pain to me. She was holding her neck around the middle of the match and it looked like something was wrong with her left arm. She didn't get physically involved or anything so it's not really that big of a deal, but if I was booking the show, I'm not sure I woulda let her go out there...poor thing. Guest The REAL Hollywood Report post Posted April 22, 2002 Was it just me, or did Lita actually look good tonight? Most of the time she looks like a horrible looking horse that was burned with acid as a uhhhh little horse, but tonight she looked very fuckable. I think its her cheeks. Arent Lesnar's shoulders scary? Having the ref. stop the match was the best way to get Lesnar over as a giant monster heel. Not just beating the fuck out of a Hardy, but actually having to stop the match. Trish = Ownage but Molly = Hotter Wasnt EDGE's german suplex on Angle nasty? Will somone FUCKING put the World title(s) on Angle or Jericho. Billy and Chuck rule. That Jungle Kick looked like it broke Maven's jaw. I admit, I marked when Hogan won. WUTHCHA YA GONNA DO, WHEN EVERY MAIN EVENTER STARTS JOBBIN TO ME???????? God damn, PLEASE HURRY BACK BENOIT. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. WWF needs Corino.

Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted April 22, 2002 My thoughts: The cruiser opener was very good I thought, and the crowd was into it more than I thought they might be. Edge/Angle is getting a lot of love on here but it was nothing resembling a MOTY. The last few minutes were seriously heated but it also had quite a bit of resting and double KO spots which I don't care for. Best match I saw in ITS ENTIRETY. I say that because there was a storm here and the cable was messed up during RVD/Eddie and I didn't see all of it. Dammit. I am taping the replay now. From what I saw it seemed really damn good, no resting or anything and furious action. I got to see the end though and Eddie won....sorta surprised me but didn't piss me off. It was a real good match from what I saw but it needed to go about 5 minutes more to hit that truly awesome level. Maybe a furious series of pinfall reversals and Eddie working the ribs would have taken it to that MOTY level. Austin/UT sucked more dick than anything. I mean it was REALLY BAD. Flair is a terrible ref and his counts took all the heat out of the match, and it was badly wrestled to begin with. Not to mention the weird Hall/Pac appearance where they did nothing. It also went forever, something like 28 minutes compared to 12 for Eddie/RVD. Now that pissed me off. I didn't think the Hogan/HHH match was nearly as bad as most people think. It was easily better than the Austin/UT match, at least it had some heat aside from "what" chants. I doubt Hogan keeps it long but I kinda liked seeing it for some reason. Guest godthedog Report post Posted April 22, 2002 matches...tonight...were...so...slow...even the 2 best matches, angle/edge & kidman/tajiri had some very noticeable slow spots. lesnar waited a loooong time between moves (not to blame him though, cause he was probably tired from all the work). eddy/rvd would've been a great match if the spots had gelled together & wasn't spot-stall-spot. i blame rvd. austin/taker started out very entertaining, but once they tried to put on an actual wrestling match it got boring as fuck. i think at one point there were 3 rest holds in a row. trips/hogan was as good as it could've been, with trips a little out of shape & hogan REALLY out of shape. trips tried to cover up for the lack of activity by playing the subtle heel & working the leg, but it can't work IF HOGAN DOESN'T SELL THE FUCKING LEG. the rest of the matches i forgot about before they were over. shitty ppv. Guest Report post Posted April 22, 2002 Now that Hogan's back on top, the wrestlers have to realize that having an intense, quality, high workrate match is the surest way to keep yourself out of the top tier. Austin and Taker had a suckfest for this reason, so that Hogan will know that neither of these guys is gonna show him up in the ring. Likewise, it will be a cold day in hell (or a few months after Hogan's retirement, whichever comes first) before Eddie, RVD, Angle, or Edge ever get a looksie at the main event. Can you picture Hogan taking some Rolling Germans from Angle, or a Van Daminator from RVD? ME NEITHER!!!

Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 22, 2002 During the RVD - Eddie G. match did anyone catch when King asked JR who was the first person he saw do a frog splash in the WWF (implying Eddie)? Jr answered with D-Lo I was glad to hear JR calling it like it is. D-Lo v. Eddie for Raw tomorrow would be cool. Also, Alvarez at the Observer has a good point about Hogan v. Undertaker. It was bad 11 years ago, it won't get any better.
