Who will lead the wwf

Recommended Posts

Who will lead the WWF in 2004 or 2005 when Austin's legs finally go out on him, Undertaker retires, Rock goes off to Hollywood, Hogan retires, Hall and Nash retires, X-Pac gets fired or Triple H breaks up with Stephanie.

Kurt Angle? Maybe as a heel. Still got a lot of good years ahead of him.

Edge? Will he be ready? Same as RVD, you think?

Brock Lesnar? Will he be the "next big thing" or a Goldberg like person.

So who?

You decide.

HHH will still be around, but Austin, Rock, Taker etc. will be away.

Jericho, Benoit & Angle will be on top of the pile with Edge and RVD occupying the position that Angle & Jericho do now.

We can guess all we want, but truth is, we just plain don't know.

What makes any of us so sure that Austin, Undertaker, Hogan, and Nash will all be retired?  The Rock could still well be around...maybe we all underestimate his love for the business.  And what do you mean breakup?  HHH and Steph could be legitimately married by then.  Think about THAT. (If you dare, or are a masochist).  Jericho and Storm could die in an auto wreck 5 weeks from now.  Angle became a full fledged main event wrestler in less than two years.  That could happen again.  The leader of the WWF in 2005 may be some guy we've never even heard of yet.  Chyna could come back.  Fuck, Bret Hart could come back (there WAS some beginnings of talk for something at WM18, you know...)  The Big Show might finally hit upon mic skill and gimmick gold. One or both Hardy brothers may become possessed by the ghost of Brian Pillman and start cutting 5 star promos.

Shane McMahon could be the only family member ever showing up on TV...and God would I love that.  (He's got more of "it" than the rest of his family put together.)

Who knows what the future holds.  Hey, in 1999, did you think we'd be talking about an Undisputed World Title, and that Hogan and Nash would be back in the WWF?  I sure didn't.

Here's what I'd like to see happening (or have happened) by 2005:

The Four Fozzymen --

Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle as co-leaders, sorta (when one starts to get a little stale, the other starts chasing the belt, and they toggle back and forth, taking turns being the dominant heel champion).

Chris Benoit as the mean enforcer guy

Brock Lesnar as the obligatory big guy

[With Heyman and Arn Anderson running around to do some talking and make opponents angry]

And when one of these guys turns face (Benoit or Lesnar), you plug Eddie Guererro into the mix.

Playing Dusty Rhodes to the Four Fozzymen will of course be The Rock. Triple H will be the sympathetic old timer the Fozzymen beat up on whenever they need some cheap heat and want to lure Rob Van Dam or whoever the megaface of tommorrow is.

Only one thing is certain:  if the WWF is on a mainstream popularity upswing in 2005, it will be because they finally axed Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, and put a fresh, GOOD, exciting and excited broadcast team out there that let us know that what was "never happening before" really is something "that's never happened before."

If *I* was running the show, I'd be pushing:

Jericho

Benoit

Angle

Eddie

RVD

Brock

HHH (good-to-great heel, bad face)

Jeff Jarrett

Booker T

Edge

Christian

Rhyno

Storm

Kanyon

Mike Awesome

Sean O'Haire

Chuck Palumbo (hey, I like him)

Hugh Morrus (see above)

Cruiserweight Division (Chavo, Kidman, Tajiri, Rey, Helms, Shannon Moore, Jason Jett, Knoble, Kaz Hayashi, Elix Skipper, AJ Styles, Air Paris, Tony Mamaluke, Little Guido)

Note 1: I realize both Elix & Kaz were released.  I would bring them back.

Note 2: I don follow the Indy's much, so that's why my list is lacking in those guys for the most part.

Note 3: I also realize, w/ the guys I'm pushing, I'm pretty much re-forming WCW

Note 4: I also realize that my fed would probably be out of business in under a year

As far as the maineventers of tomorrow, there's a TON of guys I'd like to see, but knowing how WWF works, it might not end up how we like it. This is what I always saw, with the wrestlers that we know of now.

Probably one of the Hardy's will be a legit IC champ.

Mike Awesome-big, agile guy. Vince's favorite.

Chuck Palumbo-big guy as well. I can see him reaching "rock" status in a few years. He's got a great look.

Brock Lensnar- See above

Kurt Angle-already mainevented, has superb mic skills and top notch in-ring skills. Can get over as face or heel. He's perfect as the one the fans "love to hate".

Jericho-same as Angle.

RVD-Once WWF realized that he is way over and as long as they let him in the ring, he will always be over.

Eddy Guerro- A total package. Can talk, get over as a great heel or a so-so face, can do just about anything in the ring. He just needs to ditch the mullet.

Bradshaw-Once Austin retires, they need to have one "ornery texan" to push to the moon. I always thought Bob Holly would make a better Austin than Bradshaw, though.

Hey, I'm a big Palumbo mark, but I think "Rock status" is a bit much.
