Flair and nwo

Recommended Posts

Guest RepoMan

Now that Austin got scerwed, it's obvious he's going to fued with Flair. To get Flair over as a total heel, he's going to join the nWo. Flair's going to act all po'ed that he missed the call at first, but join the nWo and admit it was intentional, and Hall and X-Pac where just there to make sure there plan to screw Austin worked out, and there would be a logical reason for Flair drafting the nWo.

Assuming I'm right, I'm tired of Austin fueding with a heel owner. However, it will give the nWo a boost instead of being glorified jobbers. Whatever.

I can see why you would think that. I don't like the idea of Flair being New World Order but I can understand your reasoning. Personally, if they fired the NWO tomorrow, I don't know if anyone would know they were gone. I mean, Kevin Nash's injury has really left a void in the roster.

They better have some explanation because that whole match was a mess. Flair was f'n looking right at Austin legs being put in the ropes right as he started to count, even though none of the announcers even mentioned it.

I was actually thinking for a little while there that Taker was going to join the nWo in a quick attempt to revitalize them.  It sorta goes with the X-Pac in a Kane mask deal, plus by virtue of both the faction and Taker being heel, the marks would buy into it.

As for Austin against the evil owner, wasn't that done to death before?

Flair joining the nWo would be only be character assassination, considering that he fought up and down with them in WCW, due to the Arn Anderson "Spot Parody".

Actually, RepoMan, I see Flair making every effort tomorrow night to placate Austin, including giving him a rematch (which he might well win).

I thought that the nWo were casually scoping out Taker as a potential leader, given their depleted state and that he worked fairly well with them in the recent tag match against Austin & Bradshaw.  Since they didn't do anything, I see them as having been there as strictly observers.

well the guys on 411wrestling brought this up and I agree:  The nWo came out to wake up the DEAD CROWD (due to the slowest moving match ever between austin and taker; it was worse then the buried alive match from rock bottom '98).  I cannot see any other reason fo rthem to be there, unless it's the start of an angle.

I hope to God this isn't just another Top Face against his heel boss fiasco.  The Austin vs. McMahon feud put that all to rest.  This is one of the reasons why I never wanted Austin to go face again.  Damn the marks for just cheering him when he was a heel (sure he had heel heat but you know when you looked at the crowds that people just wanted to cheer him no matter what).  I miss the psychotic Bionic Redneck.  Now (shudders once again) Hogan is (contains anger) Undisputed Champion.  What is the WWF coming to?

Flair in the nWo would be awful. Sign Steiner for them already.

Hall and X-Pac were probably watching on a monitor in the back, but the monitor must have been broken, because it looked like the match was airing in slow motion.

So they came out to ringside for a better view, and saw that the match was REALLY HAPPENING IN SLOW MOTION!

This miracle of nature, which had already put a hush over the crowd, stunned the NWO as well, and they were frozen in place at ringside until the end of the match.

Also, I think that if Flair/Austin is going to be a feud, that Austin should sign over ownership duties to Arn Anderson (who would be great in a figurehead role like that) while he becomes an active wrestler against Austin.  Another "rebel vs. the boss" angle is going to seem passe.

The Undertaker vs. Steve Austin worked one time and one time only, at SummerSlam 1998.  Since that time the match has never ceased to play before a dead crowd no matter how much storyline crap the WWF puts behind it.  Why the WWF continues to fall back on it amazes me.

Why does Austin always have to be feuding with someone in charge?  It worked when it was original and I doubt the crowd wants to see Ric Flair as Austin's target now.  It might kill the WWF writers to move Austin into a new feud but it's something to try.

It wouldn't make any sense if Flair was nWo, unless Vince turned face and I hope to god that doesn't happen.  Hopefully they were looking at Taker and he could join the nWo tonight!

BTW, did anyone notice how bored Scott Hall looked during that match?  He looked like he was thinking "Finish the damn match already!".

well that match certainely had the "bowling shoe tendancies" TM BIG MOUTH JR

man has JR turned into a big shill, he's a pathetic shell of his former self, as is Lawler.

I wish I coulda fast-forwarded through that

actually I can't complain cuz for some reason my ppv channel unscrambled for the whole weekend and I saw the ppv for free :)
