Okay, anyone who knows me, knows I want to be a filmmaker. Hell, thats the only reason I joined the National Guard(Film School is expensive...Guard sends me to school free..and I get a job at NSA...sweet) I don't think I'll ever be rich and famous(and if thats why you become a filmaker, than its all wrong) but I hope to one day be semi-famous ala Joss Whedon. Anyways, I love low budegt micro cinema because you get what you pay for, and sometimes more. Like this months winner: Rotten Shaolin Zombies!

Heres a summary from the site:

An epic tale of brotherly love, bad sushi & ass-kicking zombies

Two brothers, the best of friends, devout martial artists, inseperable. One fateful sushi dinner would forever change the nature of their relationship and send them on a crash course to death and destruction. Thinking his dear brother has been killed by the toxic venom of the live dirty lungfish that tore out his eye, Lone Brother trudges through life, wondering how he will ever be able to continue on all alone. Little does he know his brother has returned to walk the earth as the undead, pissed off and craving human flesh. The stage is set for an epic battle where brother must face brother, zombie versus the living, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance! (Okay, that's a little overreaching, but...)

Sounds great, and it is. The best part? The DVD is fucking loaded, better than most hollywood dvds, with 4(!) commentery tracks, all good.

2nd Place this month goes to The Magical Time-Traveling Thugtastic Jug, the most hilarious film I've seen in a long time. This is South Park quality stuff, but because of the lack of awsome dvd, I had to give it to RSZ. But d/l the movie9 its free, on rewindvideo.com. You can also d/l the trailer for RSZ, and read some great articles and how-tos.

also, check out Wild Diner Films

a great filmaker, nice guy. His documentry on D.C. poets is awesome, so check it out.

Oh and if anyone is wonder, yes, I am making a short film soon. Very short, I want to start small and build up my skills, but be on the look out for that, if you're interested.
