Guest OSIcon Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 (edited) They announced three title matches for the for the first "NJPW-USA" TV taping on June 26th: - IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship: Heat © vs. Puma - Ring of Honor Championship: Shinya Makabe vs. Samoa Joe © - IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championship: American Dragon/Curry Man © vs. Havana Pitbulls Also announced as appearing: Adam Pearce, Bobby Quance, Brad Bradley, Iceman, Vampiro, and others. That looks like a REALLY fun show so far. The tag title match has a ton of potential and the other two aren't bad at all either. It will be interesting to see if they can put cards out cards like this beyond the first taping. I'm a big fan of wrestlers making title defenses all over the place, even if that means defending their championship in another company. So I really like the idea of Joe defending out on the west coast (agains an "international challenger) and the IWGP titles being defended in the US (for a second time in the case of the Jr. heavyweight championship). EDIT: I obviously meant "NJPW-USA" in the headline..... Edited June 3, 2004 by OSIcon
