Guest Kinetic Report post Posted April 26, 2002 I always thought OMC's "How Bizarre" was bad in a completely different way than anything else out at the time.

Guest treble charged Report post Posted April 27, 2002 Unless I've missed it, no one's mentioned Chumbawamba yet. Tub Thumping has to be WAY up there on the list of 1 hit wonders.

Anyone who's ever ventured into a used CD store can vouch for this. You have to wade through about thirty copies of the Chumbawumba album and maybe 15 of the Butthole Surfers' Electric Larrlyland to get to anything else. Another one-hit wonder I really like is Head East's "Never Been Any Reason" from the Flat As A Pancake album. Cheesy synth rock from the 70's heard on classic rock stations all over the midwest. Guest Redhawk Report post Posted April 28, 2002 The guy who did the "I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller," song. Rockwell ("Somebody's Watching Me.") Afro-Man ("Because I Got High.") Young MC ("Bust a Move.") Snow ("Informer.") Sisqo as a singles performer ("Thong Song.") Whatever happened to that girl who sang, "Torn"? Guest Report post Posted April 28, 2002 New Radicals "Get What You Give" is one if my all time favorite songs. It reminds me of my great year I had back in 1998. It was a great time.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted April 28, 2002 Snow ("Informer.") Not in Canada. Snow has recorded some other songs that have gotten major airplay on MuchMusic (whether he deserves it or not). "Everybody Wants To Be Like You" and "The Plumb Song" come to mind. Whatever happened to that girl who sang, "Torn"? Natalie Imbrugila (sp?). She has a new single out, if I'm not mistaken, but I'll be damned if I can remember the name of it. She has a new single out, if I'm not mistaken, but I'll be damned if I can remember the name of it. Natalie Imbruglia's new single is called "Wrong Impression". I've heard snippets of her new album White Lilies Island(since the record company was too cheap to send me the whole album or even the whole single) and it sounds pretty good. Anyway, more one-hit wonders! Naked Eyes - "Always Something There to Remind Me" Haddaway - "What is Love?" (mid-90's Euro-Trash dance floor classic! Also featured prominently in A Night at the Roxbury) Five for Fighting - "Superman" Los Del Rios - "Macarena" (can't believe this one hasn't been mentioned yet! Oh, I can see how it brings back bad memories though...) LEN - "Steal My Sunshine" (I really like LEN too... "Feelin' Alright" was released as a single, but had no commercial success, at least in America)
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted April 29, 2002 The guy who did the "I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller," song. That would be Skee-Lo's "I Wish". A friend of mine used to sing praises about that album. I'd like to add Left Eye's girl group that did "808" because I don't remember another one of their singles. Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted April 29, 2002 "Gangster Lean" dont remember the group's name "Come On" Billy Lawrence "Return of the Mack" Mark Morisson, [bad joke]maybe he returned to Europe [/bad joke] DRS, I believe. Others I thought of: World Class Wrecking Crew: "Turn Off The Lights"-early R&B song featuring none other than Dr. Dre. Giant-"I'll See You In My Dreams" Shannon-"Let The Music Play" The Heights-"How Do You Talk To An Angel?" Go West-King Of Wishful Thinking Fu Schnickens (w/ Shaq!)-Can We Rock (What's Up Doc?) Eddy Grant-Electric Avenue (later redone by the Refugee All Stars) El Debarge-Rythym Of The Night
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Hey El Debarge also sang "Who's Johnny"!!!! and Eddy Grant sang "Romancing the Stone". Just saying.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Blaque sang "808." And Left Eye wasn't in the group. They were a just cheap TLC rip-off and had a girl who sounded like Left Eye. Blaque did do a song with NSync that was kind of popular, so they may not qualify as one-hit wonders. Other one-hit wonders: Whoever rapped that "Do the ditty-ditty" song. Fiona Apple Snap Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch 5 Black Rob Whoever did "Back to the hotel." Q-Tip as a solo act

Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 29, 2002 N2Deep "Back to the Hotel" was my favorite song off the MTV Party to go CD!!!!
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Fiona Apple No. She had "Criminal," "Shadow Boxer," and "Sleep to Dream"...all of which were hit singles. You could include "Fast As You Can," as well. Either way. As long as we're on the subject of musicians I like, no one's mentioned The Breeders yet. But everyone's heard "Cannonball" at least once. Guest JHawk Report post Posted May 2, 2002 "She Blinded Me With Science". How that was a hit... Also, would "Sugar Sugar" from the Archies be considered a one-hit wonder? After all, songs from bands based on teenybopper comic books are cool!

Guest Redhawk Report post Posted May 10, 2002 Jamiroquai. I probably spelled it wrong. Anyway, they sang "Virtual Insanity," which I think won the MTV award for Best Video. Is Tweet a one-hit wonder yet, or do I have to wait a while?
Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted May 10, 2002 I can't believe no one has said "I'm too sexy" by Right Said Fred... Jamiriqui might have had one hit, but they still put out good music, their last album had some really good songs which sounded straight from the 70's, which is a good thing IMO... and they are very big over in Europe. I like them because they have distinct style, and I like the lead singer's voice, which sounds like Stevie Wonder I usually think of one hit wonders as bands who have one hit, then disappear forever... Guest Report post Posted May 10, 2002 Is Tweet a one-hit wonder yet, or do I have to wait a while? I'm pretty sure she'll be one. I don't even know if her song is a hit. It sucked to me. How about... Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted May 10, 2002 While on the topic of one-hit wonder "predictions", how about Five for Fighting's "Superman"... Criswell predicts that is FfF's only work of note ever. How about the "Welcome Back Kotter" theme? I was reminded of this because they were talking about it on the radio yesterday... City High - "What Would You Do" (too bad, I got the full CD for review and they're not bad at all) Samantha Mumba - "Gotta Tell You" The Ohio Players - "Love Rollercoaster"
