411 writer Eric Szulczewski spits on Reagan's tomb

Of course... I hope that most of the conservatives on this board realize that Eric S is a moron and in no way represents the average liberal... he's just an example of a typical left wing yahoo and there are plenty of them... just like there are many right wing yahoos

And I guarantee you, when Clinton kicks the bucket... you'll get the same reaction from the Arch Conservative Eric S's of the world that will rejoice his death

I can only say I will not. Clinton, in the long run, is as irrelevant a President as Coolidge was. Hard to really get a ton of rage towards somebody who honestly did so little.

Actually, Eric is kind of smart as far as partisan yahoos go. The "conservative mastermind" of 411Black (prior to him being released and claiming it was a left-wing conspiracy) was far dumber and pretended to be some sort of internet Rush Limbaugh, telling his readers to copy and paste certain parts of his columns and post them on liberal sites to troll the people there.

Eric is a guy shooting off his rabid beliefs off. I don't even read his column anymore because his page-ful of political views comes under the false title "Wrestling News & Opinions."

While I don't think he's stupid, I do think he's a bit of a loser becuase of the whole "40 year old internet columnist" thing.

The conservative (a real joy, to be sure) was AS BIG AN IDIOT as Eric.

But, in the end, they're two irrelevant dorks posting inane theories on politics (or beer, or meat inspection) on a wrestling message board.

Their level of discourse doesn't quite rise to the level of Lincoln v Douglas.

...Or is it Douglass?

^^ Agrees

Perhaps true, but I don't really see Mike portraying his opinions as anything more than that--his opinions. (Although I could be wrong.)

Eric S. and that conservative idiot (and he was pretty stupid) actually believe that their opinions go beyond the internet.

I stopped reading Eric once he made those 911 comments days after the event. While I consider Reagan to be an average-above average president, no man deserves to be slandered like that days after his death. Even though I despise Bush, he's still the president and I would be sad to see him die.

Oh we know all about liberal yahoos *glares at jigg.*

Sorry for questioning your patriotism.

And yes, that conservative guy wasn't all that good...

So now they think he was charming.

An excellent column by Ann Coulter, who expresses precisely my own feelings about the sickly-sweet "what a great old guy" bullshit making the rounds these days. No, I'm sorry, but President Reagan didn't like you liberals. He didn't respect you. He had no time for you and he made that fact crystal clear. Your effusive professions of respect and admiration ring hollow and false, and it's highly annoying to listen to all the voluble insincerity (in Washington DC? The horror! - but no, seriously, there's a decided uptick). Still, I guess there's an up side.

Now I know you're all professional hypocrites, and this kind of thing comes naturally to you, but even so it must be really galling to have to suck up to President Reagan's memory. After all, he not only held you lot in utter contempt, but he beat the living shit out of you each and every time it counted.

I have to admit, it's sort of fun to watch.

I always said long before he died I didn't like his politics and such, but he really was a nice guy, if you were on his good side obviously. He just made you feel like he was on your side no matter what. 'sides, he was a former President, I have to respect him based on that alone already.

Not even going to ask your age, (I know better) but I was eight years old in '84 and remember bits of that election.

My dad was an old-school union guy, and his friends were pretty much the same. He got laid off by Heinz in the early 80s and HATED Reagan. I remember on election night I was at the house of one of his friends, and they all voted Mondale. They all told me that both men would raise our taxes, it was just that Mondale was being honest about it.

I remember being in the kitchen of this house when they showed the electoral map, and Reagan won all but MN, and everyone in that kitchen was silent and shaking their head.

I think it was times like this that make me understand why my old man had a look of fear/outrage when I showed him my voter registration card, which stated what Party I joined, back in '94...

I think it's great that everyone here can express their view on an issue without resorting to anger or petty name calling.

Oh. Wait. My mistake.

It's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" issue with Marney... praise the man, you're called a hypocrit... bash the man, and you're a cold hearted pinko commie.

This posthumous cock sucking is getting very repulsive I might add

Then how about just shutting the hell up? (I'm talking about pols, not you -- yet.)

If you were a public figure and didn't like the man then just keep your mouth shut.

If I was a pol. when Uncle Ted finally drives off that big bridge of life I'd just clam up, let his family and supporters mourn and be done with it. I wouldn't go "WAAAH, I want to speak at his funeral..."

Oh good lord, Reagan had more bipartisan relationships with people than we've seen in the past few years. One of the guests on Nightline monday was saying that Reagan and Tip O'Neil, Tip O'Neil of all people, could stop arguing once working hours were done and share stories.

And just becuase someone doesn't agree with his policy doesn't mean they can't say he was honest about them. "I'm not worried about the deficit. It's big enough to take care of itself." Sure, that would have pissed me off at the time, but at least he admits that the deficit is growing awfully big, but he's just not concerned of it.

What would you hear from today's administration? "There's no problem with the deficit. It's all under control. Trust me, I haven't made any mistakes yet."

Don't forget that Reagan won votes from a large number of Democrats. To be pissy about his highly-devisive legacy right now would be turning a lot of Dems off.

IRONY OF THE YEAR

Except I don't think anybody outside of this board reads this and I doubt a soul here cares what I think.

It must suck when an attempt at wit goes so horribly awry.

I think it's great that everyone here can express their view on an issue without resorting to anger or petty name calling.

Oh. Wait. My mistake.

Way to change the tone, then, Tommy.

It's already ended. Ended back when Jennings started making idiotic statements. You know, I don't think JFK or LBJ had too many "journalists" criticizing them during their memorials. And God knows LBJ had room to be raked over the coals.

What would you hear from today's administration? "There's no problem with the deficit. It's all under control. Trust me, I haven't made any mistakes yet."

Are you a ventriloquist? You seem awfully adept at putting words in people's mouths.

I'm about as conservative as they get, and I don't give a shit about what either of those pieces of crap say anymore. Scooter lost his relevance when his Rants lost their newness to me (about half a dozen). As for Eric, I've never found him to be anything more than a vaguely humorous scumbag who tries to politicize anything and everything so he has an excuse to spout off his little diatribes in a frenzy of self-aggrandizement.

I don't read either of them anymore and rarely even visit 411 except for game news and to read our own Mr. Barron, of course. Nothing more than a couple of bitter hacks trying to be shocking and failing miserably.

The problem with the Scott Keith's and Trevor(whatever his last name is...their music reviewer) is they shit on the American political system and yet do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to better their Canadian government. Perhaps if they actually shut their mouths and put some concern into their own government their dollar wouldn't be worth 70cents here.

Hey, the Canadian dollar is at 96 cents now. I know Scott Keith has continued writing, but maybe Trevor the Music Reviewer quit writing and turned things around.
