The Carolina/Montreal series will be such a clash between the 2 arenas.  In Carolina, they'll be lucky to sell the place out, and most of the fans wont know what's going on, and then you go to Montreal.  If that place is anything like it was in the 1st round, you know it's going to be rockin'.

Generally speaking, I'll be quiet during a national anthem, but there was a football game this year where I just couldn't bring myself to stand. This guy came on the PA at halftime and sang it, and it sounded like such crap that I thought he was joking around. I was thinking, "who the hell is this asshole," but people started to stand up. I was still sitting there until I said, "fuck this" and went to the bathroom. I would have to say that if I was at the basketball game where Carl Lewis sang the Star Spangled Banner, I would have been laughing out loud. Even if I was the only asshole in there laughing, I would have been laughing.

Carolina's fans will surprise you.  They may not give a fuck during the season but once the playoffs start it's hockey fever baby.

Maybe the 2nd round will surprise me, but when you have a 18,000 seat arena, and you're only drawing 15,000 people there for a playoff game (and that's even below the regular season average), it's saying to me that you don't give a fuck about hockey, no matter whether or not its the regular season or the playoffs.

I like it when the people cheer during the last two lines of the anthem.  Basically they are cheering for bravery and freedom.  That part usually sends a chill down my spine...
