LOW3 Presents... SWF vs. LWA

Using the Showdown: Legends of Wrestling 3 game as the backdrop, I will create an epic story of heart, guts, and two men's dream to dominate the wrestling world. The only thing standing between them... is each other.

 

 

SHOWDOWN WRESTLING FEDERATION

:

 

The upstart promotion that is taking Wrestling to new heights by challenging the old territories, and buying them up, one-by-one. It's interesting to note that this bearer of change in the wrestling business is run by a man who was born and bred in the tradition of it: Richard Grant. Grant's father ran the old New York territory the SDWF (Show Down Wrestling Federation), and it prospered. But while his father was running the family business, Richard was instead interested in marketing, and decided that when it was HIS turn, he'd show all the promoters who had scoffed at him that he COULD run a wrestling promotion.

 

LEGENDS WRESTLING ALLIANCE :

 

For as long as anyone can remember the LWA has only been a figure head, allowing a loose conglomerate of territories to have one Champion and proven draw to split between them. However, in the desperate attempt to halt the SWF's expansion, the remaining territories under the LWA's banner have united to create a group of workers to keep traditional wrestling alive. Led by Jerry Beckwith, a long-time promoter out of the Carolinas, the LWA finally has something to prove again, and they're about to rise to the challenge.

 

 

(NOTE: SDince LOW3 comes out the 22nd, I'll be building to the first card till then. The first order of business is to split up the workers between the two companies. Since LOW3 has 72 grapplers (Andy Kaufman is excluded for obvious reasons), 8 CAWS have been added, they are marked with an asterik.)

Both the LWA Board of Directors, and SWF President John Terry are here to witness the precedeings. SWF wins the coin toss to begin, and owner Richard Grant smilies smugly as he approaches the podium...

 

SWF: ROUND 1

 

GRANT: As everyone knows, at SWF we like two things: High charisma, and high bank accounts. We need the glitz and glamour, and we need to present a fresh, exciting, product, and so it is my pleasure to select these men, who the crowds in New York will just LOVE. Ladies and Gentlemen, I choose...

 

THE FOUR HORSEMEN !

 

The crowd is in shock, and correspondant Rick Rudo is with Ric Flair to glean a reaction from him:

 

Flair: "Let me tell you something, boy. The Four Horsemen have built not just a reputation, but a WAY OF LIFE, on being the best in the industry. We've bled, and swet, and cried, to get where we are and there's no way that we're going to let some fat-cat in New York push us around. We may bring the glitz, but we're also bringing a love of this industry, that Mr. Grant seems to lack. he DISGUSTS me, and I'll tell him that on the 22nd at Madison Square Garden right to his face, WHOOOOOO!"

BECKWITH: There's only one way to respond to a stellar business move like Mr. Grant just showed us all here today, and that's by sticking to your guns and upping the ante. We at the LWA want tradition, we at the LWA want athleticism, we at the LWA want a champ who will draw crowds all over the nation. That's why we picked the one man who can bring us all these things...

 

RANDY SAVAGE!

 

Mr. Savage's agent prepared the following statement for the benefit of this television broadcast:

 

"Mr. Savage is extremely honored and pleased to be drafted the Number One pick by the LWA. He looks foward to touring the nation, and easily winning the LWA title at the Tournament at the end of this month."

 

Savage is too arrogent to even give his own speech, and his words send shockwaves through the LWA's Board of Directors.

THE FOUR HORSEMEN suddenly attack Grant and beat him down. Suddenly...

 

"IF YA SMELLLLLLLLLLLLLL.... WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN'!"

 

THE ROCK enters and begins fighting off the Four Horsemen with lightning fast punches. The Horsemen scatter, and Grant gets to his feet.

 

GRANT: "Did you think I wasn't READY for you, Flair? Did you think i would'nt be able to STOP you? The Horsemen may have been TOPS down South, but you won't be able to use your cheap tactics here with me. Not when I've just drafted...
