nogoodnick 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 Carmelo Anthony will be going to Athens. Ben Wallace and Rip Hamilton will not. Anthony, the Denver Nuggets' rookie, will accept an invitation to join the U.S. Olympic basketball team, NBA sources told ESPN.com. It is also believed that Milwaukee's Michael Redd will be issued an invitation. Mark Stein ESPN,.com Looks as if this years Olympic squad just keeps getting younger. I really wish Big Ben were still on the team for he is not human, he is a monster. I like the addition of Melo though. He really started playing well this season and I think the extra games in a new environment will help his development. This team has some speed with Lebron, Starbury, and Wade but I think they lack height. Have they even named a center? There are many foreign teams with a couple of 7 footers and it looks like the US has one in Tim Duncan. We'll see if athleticism and youth can beat out height and experience.
