Guest Shaved Bear Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 knock-off, theres too much about this movie
Guest areacode212 Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Showgirls. Truly horrible, but so much fun.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Oh man there are so many; go to the "cult classics" section of your video rental store, and about half the titles earned that status by being so inadvertently funny... I'm gonna go with a couple contemporary examples... Bones (actually to be fair, Bones wasn't really that bad but I saw it in a theatre and it's definitely not worth $9). Scorpion King too, I was hating on it, and I do hate on it, it's a terrible movie, but it's so funny, for all the wrong reasons... if you smel-l-l-l-l-l what Mathayus is cookin'!
Guest The Man in Blak Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 The Car. For those who have seen it...well, you just know.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 For another couple, less contemporary examples, there are Uninvited and Ataque de los Pajaros (a.k.a. Beaks: The Movie). Killer cat/puppets and the funniest Birds rip-off I've ever seen.
Guest starvenger Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Street Fighter: The Movie. So bad that you have to laugh at it. Great unintentional comedy. And Raul Julia's last film. Poor guy. And thinking back on it, I think Kylie Minogue looked about 10 years older in that movie than she does now. Creepy.
Guest Flyboy Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Showgirls. Truly horrible, but so much fun. I third Showgirls.
Guest ArkhamGlobe Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Disco Godfather. Ridiculous and horrible, but unbelievably funny. The Revenge of the Shogun Women. See above, only this is in 3D, which makes it even funnier in the way they use it.
Guest swan Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Plan 9 From Outerspace My dad is an old scuool horror film buff, but he had all of Ed Woods wonderfully unintentionally funny films. Classic.
Guest DragonflyKid Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 I have to put a vote in for Gummo, I thought the movie was hilarious even though it wasn't a comedy. Strange-looking, glue-sniffing kids going around killing stray cats to sell to a store, a brother pimping his retarded sister off to those kids. A pathetic drunk hitting on a gay midget who rebuffes his advances. A kid dressed as a bunny getting called queer by two little kids dressed as cowboys. Yes, Gummo is indeed a cinematic Tour de Force, it will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will leave you breathless and spellbound, a true masterpiece if there ever was one, a film that transcends mere entertainment into the realm of art, a glorious picture that cannot under any circumstances be missed, forsake everything else and get up and seek out this movie as it were what you were born to do. Rating *****
Guest Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 The Car. For those who have seen it...well, you just know. Holy shit! Someone else has seen The Car! I love that movie. I even have it on DVD (it looks great). Man, I'd love to actually own the car that's in the movie. It's badass!
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Way too many Troma movies to list, my friend... As for non-Troma... Leprechaun and Leprechaun 2. I love them, but they're so incredibly stupid/cheesy/fucking stupid as all hell that they're entertaining. Too bad the series stopped being ANYTHING resembling entertaining afterwards... Freeway II, if only for Natasha Lyonne's lesbian sex scene. Ghosts Of Mars is so wonderfully stupid it rules... Trick Or Treat, the one about the dead rockstar that comes back as a demon to kill kids that are making this one fan's live a misery, is wicked good. Gene Simmons is in it as the DJ of a local rock station that knew Sammi, the rockstar that died, personally and owned a copy of an unreleased vinyl. Needless to say, that's how Sammi comes back... Ready To Rumble is so horrible it's good...
Guest swan Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Oh add "Kiss Meets The Phatom of the Park" to the list. Bad 70's TV movie. Loved it.
Guest Eric the Eagle Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 "American Ninja 2" had me rolling on the floor laughing.
Guest areacode212 Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Here's another one I loved: Rats. It's sort of "spaghetti horror movie", about bikers in a post-apocalyptic world, who come across some abandoned building. One by one, each of them dies horribly due to the swarms of evil rats who appear to rule the city.
Guest JHawk Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 I'd add just about any Jackie Chan movie to this list. They're supposed to be action movies, and I find myself thinking I'm Tom Servo or Crow when I'm watching those. Which reminds me, 90% of the movies that ever aired on MST3K would probably qualify.
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Ready To Rumble is so horrible it's good... i thought i was the only one that liked ready to rumble. i saw it in the theater, rented it 2 times and bought the DVD and have watched it a good many times. i mark for jimmy king.
Guest razazteca Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Freeway II, if only for Natasha Lyonne's lesbian sex scene everything was wrong with that movie especially Natasha friend who is running around naked with blood on her The Slums of Beverly Hills is better Natasha movie it shows her topless The Return of the Killer Tomatoes with George Clooney Say It Aint So 1st scene with the family at the dinner table is classic "I got these to piss you off" shows off nipple rings Dish Dogs with Sean Austin and Matthew Illard quoting Nitchne, Darwin, Socrates, Candide thoughout the movie then he finds his perfect mate....Shannon Elizabeth at a strip club.
Guest 5_moves_of_doom Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 I second "Plan Nine from Outer Space." Ed Wood rules, as did the movie made about him.
Guest Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Spice World... funny for all the wrong reasons.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Yes, Slums is a better Lyonne movie. But is there such thing as a BAD Lyonne movie? I've loved everything I've seen her in. If you get the chance, check out But I'm A Cheerleader! if you haven't already. Lyonne, and Clea Duvall...my 2 favorite actresses currently...and it's not all because of their acting ability (which both most definitely possess), nudge nudge wink wink. Add The Evil Dead (the first one was MEANT to be a horror) and The Punisher (DOLPH LUNDGREN = RATINGS, DAMMIT) to my list. Hell, any Lundgren film where he's not in the Navy/Air Force is a classic for all the wrong reasons.
Guest Eric the Eagle Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Oh, yeah, the Punisher. Any movie that has Lundgrehn on a table firing a minigun while making "brrrrrapapapapp" noises with his lips is a must-see. I'm not being saracstic here, actually. I really liked that movie. About the Jackie Chan movies, nearly every one of them are supposed to be comedy. Action/comedy, but still comedy. "One thing is certain. He is dead! Murdered! And someone is responsible!" - best movie quote EVER (yes, Iwhole-heartedly support Plan 9... in this. But who doesen't?) "Bloodsport II" - I really like Martial Arts movies, and this one has some great moments. However, the inclusion of someone who appears to be a street mime on crack and the single most ridiculous villain (His entire offence seems to be incredibly slow punches. That and he no-sells EVERYTHING. I mean, he's worse than Goldberg...) in recent history reserves it a place on the list. In fact, the villains closing threath to the hero "You... Me... Soon... just me..." might be the singluar least threathening sentence I have ever heard.
Guest chirs3 Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Killer Klowns from Outer Space This movie is hilarious... and I don't think it was supposed to be...
Guest razazteca Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 all of the Kickboxer movies after the Van Dam orginal Best of the Best 2 with Brakus!!!!! Masters of the Universe with Kristy Allie's clone as Evil Lynne That's Pat and Stuart Smiley Saves the World are the worst SNL movies My Parents Save the World one of Kathy Irelands movies Alien From LA another Kathy Ireland gem Fist of the North Star the live action Showtime production Little Nicky was the worst Adam Sandler movie ever
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Species 1 and 2. Amazingly poor yet hilarious.
Guest Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Killer Klowns from Outer Space was supposed to be funny... but it was as funny for the bad acting from all concerned (except John Vernon) as it was for the intentional jokes
Guest chirs3 Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 There were intentional jokes? I think among the acidic pies and cotton-candy wrappings of D00M!11!!1!!1!!11! I missed the intentional jokes.
