Guest Report post Posted April 24, 2002 The SmackDown video plays, the pyros explode, and we are LIVE in Peoria for SmackDown! The red and yellow flashes, Hendrix wails, and the Undisputed Champion Hulk Hogan comes to the ring. Like he said on Monday, if it weren't for the Undertaker, he might not be Champion right now. But in his heart, he believes he would be. But there's one way to make sure. Tonight, in front of all these Hulkamaniacs, he's going to give Triple H the rematch he promised. He's been in this business for a long time. He's been in the ring with the best, and the nastiest. But Triple H has taken this to a whole new level. He is the best Hogan has ever stepped in the ring with. The Game's music hits, and Triple H comes to the ring. Triple H asks Hogan if he really wonders if he's the champion solely because of Undertaker. There's no doubt in Triple H's mind. The fact that Hogan is willing to defend his Title against the best in the business less than a week after he won it, Hogan has won Triple H's respect. The fans may love Hogan, but Triple H loves the Undisputed Championship. It is his goal; it is his religion; it is his law. At Backlash, Triple H shook Hogan's hand. The question is, when Triple H wins back his Title, will Hogan be man enough to shake The Game's hand? "No Chances" hits, and Vince McMahon marches out onto the stage. Trips begs Vince to come down, but he stays on the stage. Last Vince checked, neither Hogan to Trips was the owner of SmackDown. Vince is the owner, and he makes the matches. He asks the fans if they want to see the Hogan/Trips match, and they scream their approval. Alas, Vince can not give them that match. They have to clean things up, and get rid of the criminal element. That's why Triple H won't get his rematch tonight. The Game was arrested on Monday. But if Hogan is so anxious to defend his Title, he can do so...in one week. He'll face the winner of the Triple H match against wrestling's living legend, Chris Jericho. Whatchu gonna do, when Vince's authority runs wild on you? Vince does all of Hogan's poses and Triple H's water-spit. Fade Out. In the back, Rico shows Chuck how to properly give Billy a massage. Torrie and Tajiri come in, and Billy and Chuck congratulate him on winning the Title. Now they can go out with a whole golden ensemble. Rico says that's great, except for Torrie. He starts to re-accessorize her, giving her a headband, but Tajiri takes it and puts it on his own head. In the arena, Maven and Al come out for six-man tag action, followed by Kidman. Tajiri and Torrie come out, followed by Billy, Chuck and Rico. Chuck and Kidman start off, with Chuck missing an elbow in the corner, allowing for a Kidman dropkick. Chuck catches him and belly-belly suplexes him 1-2-kickout. Headscissors by Kidman. Tag to Maven. Maven hits a clothesline, then a spinning heel kick. Hiptoss to Billy. Maven hops Chuck, but runs into a Billy clothesline. Clothesline by Chuck, then knockdown punches. Tag to Billy. Maven fires on Billy, but Billy kicks him back and hits the FameAssEr 1-2-broken by Snow. Tajiri tags himself in and looks for the Kick of Death, but he sees that Torrie is not where she should be. He sees Rico trying to fix Torrie's outfit, causing her to slap him. He runs and has words with Torrie. In the ring, Kidman hits Billy with a tornado DDT, but Chuck superkicks hjim out of the ring. Snow runs in and back bodydrops Chuck. Tajiri kicks Kidman out of the ring, but Maven dropkicks Tajiri out. In the ring, Maven and Snow pull Chuck and Billy's pants down, revealing thongs! They chase Billy and Chuck up the ramp, then turn to get Rico. They back him down the ramp, where Torrie rips his pants off, revealing his own thong! In the ring, Kidman takes the lone Tajiri out and then hits the Shooting Star Press 1-2-3! Snow and Maven come in to congratulate Kidman. In the back, Kurt Angle finds an out-of-shape local. He says that the guy is in luck, because tonight, he's debuting his new shirt. On the back it lists all of Angle's accomplishments. But the list is so large, it only fits on a XXL shirt, which is perfect for this fat guy. Fade Out. Stacy massages Vince's temples, when a young man comes into his office, and it's none other than Randy Orton! Vince goes off about Cowboy Bob Orton, Randy's father, and how Randy has a try-out match tonight. Vince has to run. Stacy checks out Randy's big hands and his upperbody. She starts showing him some "holds" when Vince comes in. Stacy claims Orton started stripping and grabbing her. Vince says Orton's try-out is now against Hardcore Holly. In the back, Christian is setting up another Mark Henry bet. Christian bets Henry can't bend a frying pan. Faarooq doesn't think Henry can do it, but Mark claims he can. Henry grabs a towel and uses it to simply roll the pan like it was nothing! Test grabs a steel bar for double-or-nothing bets. Henry puts on his belt, wraps a towel around the bar and bends it over his knee. Christian gets upset and smashes Henry with the rolled-up frying pan. Fade Out. Orton with a go-behind takedown, but Hardcore locks in a headlock and scores a shoulder block. Armdrag by Orton, then a bulldog 1-2-kickout. Backslide by Orton 1-2-kickout. Hardcore nails Orton with the Textbook Dropkick, then chops away in the corner. Holly runs at Orton, but Orton leaps over and school boys him 1-2-kickout. Hardcore with mounted punches, then a choke on the ropes. Hardcore with the midsection boot, then clubs to the back. He wrenches Orton's back through the ropes, chopping away on the chest. Orton comes back with a flapjack onto the ropes. Orton ducks a punch and hits his own dropkick 1-2-kickout. Back elbow by Orton, who goes up top, but Holly 'buckles him. Orton pushes him off and hits a flying crossbody, but Hardcore rolls through 1-2-kickout. Drop toehold by Orton and an inside cradle 1-2-3! Orton wins! In the back, Kurt Angle eyes his top-secret new shirt. He tells the photographer that this shirt will be the fashion statement of the year. He tells the photographer that he must get this shirt on the cover of WWF magazine, People magazine, Time magazine, National Geographic, etc. As he names off magazines, Edge sneaks in the back with a suspicious look on his face. Fade Out. "Medal" hits, and Kurt Angle makes his way out for his big T-Shirt debut. As with most special occasions, the ring is covered in red carpet, and an easel stands in the middle of the ring, covered by a black sheet. Angle knows that most people hate hicks from Illinois, but not him. He loves all his fans. Even though this city is called "Peoria", which sounds more like a urinary infection than a town, he knows they are all honored to have an Olympic Hero in their presence. He can't help but notice how morbidly obese most of these people are. But for once, it's to their advantage. Tonight, he's unveiling the brand new Kurt Angle T-Shirt, designed by Kurt, available only in XXL and larger. Why XXL? You need all the space you can to print "European Champion, Intercontinental Champion, King of the Ring, 2-time WWF Champion, Olympic Champion, National Champion" just to name a few of his accomplishments. Now, the fans may say that, because they're fat and have bad skin, wouldn't wearing the shirt be like living a lie? Yes, it would. But Kurt thinks it's ok, because the people will at least feel like winners. Edge comes out and down to the ring. Angle asks what the hell Edge is doing here. Angle beat Edge 1-2-3 at Backlash, so why is he here? Edge says that they had one hell of a match at Backlash. Kurt has a new shirt, and Edge wants to congratulate him. He wants to see the shirt. Angle asks if he's serious, to which Edge replies that, after the match they had, he's dead serious. Angle says he knew Edge would come around. They shake hands, and Angle gathers the photographers around for the unveiling. He takes the sheet off, revealing a black shirt that says "You Suck" on it. Kurt begins his prepared speech before actually seeing the shirt. Angle tells them to stop taking pictures. Edge says that the shirt is totally Angle. He asks for the music that inspired the fashion masterpiece. Angle's theme plays as Edge marches up the ring. The beat drops, and the World's Strongest Man, Mark Henry, comes down for his first match since earning his title. Christian makes his way down to the ring. Christian ducks a Henry punch, and fires away, but Henry simply tosses him over the top with one arm. On th outside, Henry picks Christian up and drops him onto the ropes. Back in the ring, Henry claws Christian in the face, but Christian low blows out of it. Low dropkick by Christian 1-2-power out. Kicks in the corner by Christian, who goes up the turnbuckle to apply a sleeper, but Henry just tosses him over. Shoulder blocks by Henry, then a bearhug smash. Vertical splash by Henry 1-2-kickout. Christian looks for the Unprettier, but settles for the reverse DDT 1-2-kickout. Again Christian looks for the Unprettier, but Henry picks him up and bearhugs him for the submission victory. Fade Out Angle and Edge battle in the ring, while Albert and Rikishi fight outside. Spinning heel kick to Angle, but Angle comes back with an overhead belly-belly. Tag to Albert. Albert pounds on Edge in the corner, then hits a stalled double underhook suplex 1-2-kickout. Edge presses Edge up, but Edge goes over the back and rams Albert into Angle. Spear to Albert 1-2-broken by Angle. Angle looks for the Olympic Slam, but Edge ducks and nails Angle face-first. Tag to Rikishi. Clothesline to Albert, then Angle, then Albert, then Angle again. Powerslam on Albert. He whips Angle into Albert and Backs That Ass Up into both of them. Clothesline to Angle and a Samoan Drop to Albert. Running buttdrop 1-2-broken by Angle. Edge takes Albert outside, and Rikishi tosses Angle over the top. Albert makes quick work of Edge, but Rikishi whips him into the corner. Rikishi readies himself for the StinkFace, but Angle runs in and gives Rikishi the Olympic Slam! Edge runs in and Spears Angle down. Albert looks for the Baldo Bomb, but Edge blocks, only to be tossed over the top. Rikishi superkicks Albert and looks for the Banzai Drop, but Angle clubs Rikishi down and into a Baldo Bomb 1-2-3! After the match, Albert lays into Edge with knees while Kurt gets a chair. He runs, but Edge boots the chair back into Angle. Low blow to Albert, who, with Angle, run from the ring. In the back, D-Von readies himself to deliver another sermon and get some money in the collection plate. Fade Out. Off-camera: The organ plays, and D-Von comes out to Testify. It's time for the D-Von Building Fund. These sinners should know when people are here to save them, like his benefactor Vince McMahon. Vince is a powerful man. He's a wealthy man. Vince can guide the people, just like he guides D-Von. With just one donation, they can help. Open your hearts and pockets, and drop your money into the collection plate. He starts collecting. D-Von goes into the crowd as we come back, collecting money from the fans. He claims that all their sins will be washed away, when some guy takes the money box and runs. D-Von chases after him and catches him. D-Von pounds away, then rams him into a table. D-Von takes off his jacket and starts slapping the guy around. D-Von beats him down, saying that the Good Book says "Thou shalt not steal." In the back, Angle yells at his local buddy from earlier to get the car, but the guy shows him the You Suck shirt, causing Angle to run off. Fade Out. Jericho keeps leaving the ring, rather than lock up with Triple H. Jericho comes in with chops, but Trips shoulder blocks him down. Punches by The Game, who then tosses Jericho over the top. Clothesline by Triple H, who rams Jericho shoulder-first into the ringpost. Arm wrench by Triple H, and again he rams Jericho into the ringpost. Shoulder breaker by Triple H. The Game goes outside and wraps Jericho's arm around the ringpost. On the outside, Jericho pokes Trips in the eyes and smashes him into the stairs. Back in the ring, Triple H starts fighting back, only for Jericho to nail him with a flying forearm. Mounted punches by Jericho. Clothesline by Jericho, but Triple H fights back, only to run into a sleeper. Trips breaks the hold and gives Jericho a shot to the head. Jericho falls to the mat, as does Triple H, who smashes into Jericho's groin. In the back, Vince and Stacy are waching, when Undertaker comes in. Vince demands to know what Taker is doing there. Fade Out. We come back to see Jericho taking Triple H down and only getting a two count. Jericho stomps away, then elbows him on the apron. Meanwhile, Cole and Tazz are going crazy about the Undertaker being here right now. Exchange of punches, then Jericho hits a spinning heel kick 1-2-shoulder up. Stomps by Jericho, then a low dropkick. Jericho chokes Trips with his boot. Jericho runs, and for the third time, smashes into the ringpost. Falling neckbreaker by Triple H, then a spinebuster 1-2-shoulder up. Jericho ducks the high knee and neckbreakers The Game 1-2-kickout. Jericho goes up top, but Triple H 'buckles him. The Game goes up with Jericho, but Y2J pushes him off. Again Triple H goes to Jericho, and again Jericho punches him away. Missile dropkick by Jericho 1-2-kickout. High knee by Triple H 1-2-shoulder up. Jericho goes for a bulldog, but turns into a clothesline 1-2-shoulder up. Jericho goes for a front dropkick, but Triple H catches him and goes to catapult him, but Jericho lands on the ropes and leaps for the springboard clothesline, but Trips catches him for the Pedigree, but Jericho ducks and hits a backslide 1-2-kickout! Jericho misses the Lionsault, allowing Triple H to set for the Pedigree. Jericho trips The Game up and locks him in the Walls of Jericho! Trips crawls towards the ropes, but collapses. His hand falls once, twice, thri--no! With a resurgence of power, The Game reaches out and grabs the ropes. Jericho thinks he has won, but Tim White tells him otherwise. Jericho goes outside and grabs two chairs. Tim White takes one, while Jericho swings with the other. Trips ducks it and DDTs Jericho down 1-2-shoulder up! The two men exchange punches, and Triple H hits the knee-to-face. He kicks Jericho down and looks for the Pedigree, when Undertaker runs in from the crowd. Trips drops Jericho to attack Taker. Taker pops him in the face, and Jericho school boys him 1-2-3! Jericho wins! Taker jumps in the ring and starts beating the hell out of Triple H while Jericho celebrates. As Jericho mocks Hogan, Taker picks up The Game and chokeslams him down. Jericho grabs the fallen Game and straps in the Walls while Undertaker gets a chair. Jericho lets go when he sees Taker. Triple H staggers to his feet, as Hogan runs to the ring. Hogan starts beating on Taker and clotheslines him from the ring. On the outside, Hogan punches away, knocking Taker over the barrier. They battle through the crowd and into the back, while Jericho celebrates his victory and next week's Title shot. End Show. Dan The Man at rajahwwf.com It sounds like a decent show. I can't wait to see Randy Orton. Jim Ross has been hyping this guy forever.
Guest Mik at Cornell Report post Posted April 24, 2002 Good news: Jericho beat HHH and fights Hogan. Bad news: UT was on Smackdown. That's just fucking retardation right there.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted April 24, 2002 Are these real? It just seems to good to be true. Plus I heard on WOL that Kidman wasn't allowed to hit the SSP.
Guest Report post Posted April 24, 2002 They are real. Dan gets the live satellite feed of Smackdown, and does reports of most Smackdowns.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 24, 2002 Yes!!! Jericho two-time Champ hopefully after next week. Hogan deserves a Y2J beating almost as much as HHH. Give him a long run and see what he can do. Don't saddle him with the baggage of Steph and HHH. Benoit and Jericho should feud over the title when Benoit comes back. I'm trying to be positive here, but actually I'll be surprised if he wins it. It would be awesome but I don't know if Hogan will lose it so soon.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted April 24, 2002 Looks a fairly interesting show. UT being there is just stupid as hell. I feel sorry for Christian having to be the first guy Henry squashes. But at least Bob Holly lost, which always pleases me
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted April 24, 2002 So did the split ever have integrity or was it fucked when Vince showed on Raw? That kind of made storyline sense, HHH + UT showing up everywhere is just bad. How long till evil D'Von gets the HC title off Bubba Ray? Unless they do a storyline where HHH + UT are suspended or lose title shots and it doesn't start happening every week then they should just ditch the split right now, because if they screw up one more major storyline and ignore stips then I'm getting a month of OVW at a time and watching them every Monday night. Guest Risk Report post Posted April 24, 2002 Wrestling angles and matches are too predictable right now. I think I'll take a break from wrestling and check out Pride.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted April 24, 2002 I'll still watch Raw. Because like I always said the first week I quit watching WWF TV will vastly improve and I will have missed it. Look the first week I try to quit watching in the summer the ECW Invasion happens. But while watching this crap I'll watch Puro.
Guest Report post Posted April 24, 2002 Bad news: UT was on Smackdown. That's just fucking retardation right there. Oh jesus, get over it.
Guest Report post Posted April 24, 2002 I hope Jericho gets a long successful title run with that evil new belt. And why won't they STICK TO THEIR OWN SHOWS, damnit? Is it really that hard? *sigh...*
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 24, 2002 It looks like a solid show and I'm intrigued at the Randy Orton debut, I've yet to see him but if he's as cool as his old man was, I'm game. Nothing outright sucks here, so that's a plus, Boo-Hoo, Undertaker showed up...It's done right so far.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted April 24, 2002 My thought is that HHH was on Raw and HHH was on Smackdown because the Main Event of Judgement Day will be: Hogan vs. HHH vs. Taker (and possibly Jericho to make it a 4 way) Good god...Jericho could be drawn and quartered with all the pull the other 3 have. Guest Report post Posted April 24, 2002 Good god...Jericho could be drawn and quartered with all the pull the other 3 have. Doesn't that just say it all right there? Hogan has been out of the fed (and usually on the fed's bad side) for the last 9 years. Yet he has more stroke than Jericho does. This is a sad sad time for wrestling, indeed. I curse thee Orange Goblin!!
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted April 24, 2002 I am glad to see Jericho getting a win over Triple H. I might even watch the main event of Smackdown for the first time in awhile. I would like to see Randy Orton debut, even though I must ask, since when is facing Bob Holly considered a punishment? And Christian jobbing to Mark Henry? Poor Christian. Hopefully he will get a push someday.
Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted April 24, 2002 I guess Hardcore Holly is considered a punishment because of his badass attitude and his name "Hardcore". I don't really think of him as being punishment either, but who else can the SD league use as punishment though??? Test?? Albert?? I can't really think of any big men on SD that viewed that much as badass "punishers".
Guest Report post Posted April 25, 2002 I think the fact that he had to work with Holly is the actual punishment...then again, Vince might have wanted to see Orton get hit with Holly's all powerful dropkick of death . Sudden brilliant thought: Why not have Hardcore Holly feud with Maven over who has the most devestating dropkick? It would be loads of fun for everyone! Guest bcu1979 Report post Posted April 25, 2002 Chris Jericho pins Triple H clean on television? The cynic in me is curious as to what Triple H was promised in return. But it's still a huge step in the right direction for now. If they are going with the 4 way at JD, then Jericho needs to be built up as strong as Taker and Triple H. I even double checked the spoilers at WWF.com to see if it was really clean. Taker distracts Triple H but doesn't do anything physical. No mention of Jericho pulling the tights or putting his feet on the ropes. Now Michael Cole just needs to avoid putting the name "Chris Jericho" in the same sentence with the phrase "stole a victory." And Triple H does not immediately get his heat back either. No calling Jericho a midget. No pinning him 1-2-3 in an inpromptu rematch. No Stephanie McMahon anywhere! Where was this idea during the buildup to WM? Angle is teaming with Albert? Good grief! Christian deserves so much better. At least these Mark Henry pushes never last long. Wonder if J.R. will comment on how the people who work the hardest and stay in the best shape will be rewarded in the Ross Report again this week after the last round of tv's? When the hell is Lance Storm going to be on Smackdown?? I don't think he's been on the show since the split.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 25, 2002 Lance Storm is too busy on Metal having an epic feud with Hugh Morrus where every match so far has ended in double DQ or double Count Out
