Guest Report post Posted April 24, 2002 Lita will have next surgery next Tuesday and will require six to nine months of recovery time, according to World Wrestling Federation senior vice president of talent relations Jim Ross. Lita flew to San Antonio on Tuesday and was examined by Dr. Lloyd Youngblood, the same surgeon who operated on Stone Cold Steve Austin, Chris Benoit and Rhyno. Youngblood determined that surgery was required to correct cracks and other problems in Lita's neck area. The former Women's Champion suffered the injury -- originally diagnosed as a herniated disc -- while filming FOX's "Dark Angel" season finale earlier this month in Vancouver. "She'll be 100 percent in between six and nine months," Ross said. Ross added that Scotty 2 Hotty has tentatively scheduled surgery with Dr. Youngblood on Tuesday, May 7, pending further conversations with Dr. Youngblood. Diamond Dallas Page will try physical therapy for the next two weeks in hopes that he can avoid surgery on his back, Ross said. Look for updates on all these superstars and more this Friday in the Ross Report. wwf.com
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted April 24, 2002 No more sloppy Litacanranas?! Oh no... whatever will I do? Also, why will anyone care about the Hardys now? Oh no...! Actually, how did she injure her neck so bad on a "Dark Angel" filming anyway? I hope DDP's all good... as for Scotty, didn't he have time off for surgery last year? I remember 'cuz it was the only time Angle actually "snapped someone's ankle in two", at least that I've seen.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 24, 2002 I think a stuntwoman threw her to the ground too hard or something. I'm no Lita fan by any means, but that really sucks (for her). Well, hopefully it opens up a slot for Neilson/Daffney/Victoria so we can see someone fresh & new.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted April 24, 2002 good. i hate lita, i hope she never comes back.
Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted April 24, 2002 It's not good she's injured, but it is good she's gone. Hopefully she'll get well soon, but i doubt i'll miss her on my TV very much at all.
Guest One Bad Apple Report post Posted April 24, 2002 good. i hate lita, i hope she never comes back. What a fucking jackass you are. Even though I don't like you, I've never wished that you'd get your leg snapped in half or anything. But I feel a little different about that now. I mean, I'm not wishing it happens ... but I wouldn't mind if it did.
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted April 24, 2002 It's not good she got an injury and half a year is a long time but it might do her some good in the long run as the other Women were really showing her up in the ring. When she comes back it will hopefully be with a fresh character and an extended moveset.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted April 24, 2002 I don't wish injury on anyone, but in a way its good Lita is out of action, as her ranas were getting increasingly sloppy, and I think it would only have been a matter of time before she hurt someone. Guest Report post Posted April 24, 2002 Also, why will anyone care about the Hardys now? Well, I'm sure there are lots of homosexual wrestling fans out there just waiting with baited breath to see the Ultra-Fruit, Jeff Hardy, wrestle every week.
Guest artDDP Report post Posted April 24, 2002 All this sentiment sickens me as a wrestling fan. You ingrates give the entire profession a black eye. Reveling in the fact that Lita is injured revolts me in ways that words cannot describe. There is no call to enjoy the physical pain of someone else. Secondly, what does Jeff Hardy's sexual orientation do to your enjoyment as a wrestling fan? You choose not to like him as a wrestler? That's fine. But to come down on a person because of their lifestyle, a lifestyle which doesn't involve you at all, is wrong. It's no wonder wrestling fans aren't looked at as positive members of society. This is in no way directed at those of you serious in your well-wishing. Get well soon, Lita.

First, I didn't state that I didn't like him. Second, I don't see how I "came down on him" for a "lifestyle that doesn't involve me at all." Because god-forbid that it be possible for a straight man to have homosexual friends. I'm assuming you're straight, because yes, I have gay friends. And yes, I have gay friends who watch wrestling. And yes, they all think that joke is pretty funny. Bottom line. It was a joke, buddy, get over it.

If you'd said that in front of some of my gay friends they would have kicked the shit out of you. Unless you said it while dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz; then they would have let you off probably.

Guest Report post Posted April 24, 2002 You think Lita could sue for this injury? Since it was on the set of the TV show "Dark Angel?"
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 24, 2002 "You think Lita could sue for this injury? Since it was on the set of the TV show "Dark Angel?" I wondered that too. Especially if the stuntwomen messed up and dropped her when she wasn't supposed to. If it was Lita's fault then I would say there's no way, but we'll see. Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted April 24, 2002 I don't think she'd sue because it'd make her look really bad. Then again, given her ring-work, I doubt she cares about looking bad Wonder how they're going to write her out of WWF TV... I don't think they'd risk an "injury" because that'd likely aggravate her real injury. And as for revelling in others misfortune, I bear no ill feelings towards Lita and I would NEVER say anything of the sort or imply it in real life, but Mystery Eskimo is right, if it gets her out of the ring, so she can get better before SHE injured somebody, I'm all for it. Can you imagine the fury of this board and the mainstream media if she screwed up and broke someone's neck?
Guest Report post Posted April 24, 2002 I can see her being written out via a viscious beating by Lesnar, or if she's unable to do that, I can see a segment where she says she's going to take some time off to get away from Heyman and his ongoing advances towards her. But this is the wwf, so they'll probably just never mention why lita isn't at ringside anymore and hope the fans will forget.

So they could just go with that story. Then again, this is the WWF we're talking about. *sigh*

Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted April 25, 2002 Question, how does someone injure themselves filming a TV show?! Thats what happens when you hit the bottle 1 too many times. <prays to god Lita will stay off TV for a few decades, or atleast til im dead>

Dear lord, she's been in the federation for a few years and she's hurt a grand total of ... NOBODY! Man alive, are you still waiting for Billy Gunn to murder someone because of those two Benoit matches too even though he's been around for almost ten years? Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted April 25, 2002 You know, I remember the time when Lita was the best woman wrestler in the WWF. Almost a smart favorite. While she may not be the best anymore, it's weird seeing everyone turn on her. Anyway, I hope she gets through it fine. Six months is a long freaking time. Dear lord, she's been in the federation for a few years and she's hurt a grand total of ... NOBODY! That's not true, she killed Essa Rios' career. Oh well, he's probably better off in CMLL where he's appreciated, even if that means I can't see him anymore.
