Guest Askewniverse Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 Every I Quit Match WWF/E has had included screwy endings where no one said "I Quit". Actually Backlund/Hart wasn't screwy...Backlund just forgot to say I QUIT and just shouting "yes arrgghh yeah"... I can only think of Rock/Foley and Austin/Hart as other I QUIT Matches...both of course had "screwy" finish or non "i quit" finish The Rock and HHH had an "I Quit" Match on Raw in January 1999. HHH actually said "I Quit," albeit in a screwjob finish.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 But that was a screwy finish. For those who don't know, the Corporation came to the ring and Kane threatened to chokeslam Chyna if HHH didn't forfeit the match. He did, then Chyna low blowed him and joined the Corporation in an ass kicking.

Add Vince McMahon vs. Stephanie McMahon at No Mercy 2003 as yet another "I Quit" Match that ended in a screwy finish.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 ...DAMN YOU! I knew there was an I quit match last year, but blocked out the name of the participants. Now that I remember, I must wash my eyes out with battery acid.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 There was actually some controversy over the Backlund/Hart match. He basically only grunted and Piper called for the bell.
Guest Choken One Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 i don't remember constroversy since right after that Backlund did his "i see the light" gimmick with his hands for a couple months and disappered with some notable apperences since then (Rumble 2000 and his short alliance with Angle at that time)
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 I checked, Backlund never says it.
Guest Choken One Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 we know he didn't say i quit but he mumbled yes or something either Piper botched it or Backlund just plain forgot the gimmicl
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 I share the opinion of DVDVR that HIAC was pretty excellent.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 He just kind of grunts a few times and Piper ends the match. It would make sense for Piper to screw him over because he was Hart's friend.

It would make sense for Piper to screw him over because he was Hart's friend. I say its more a case of Piper being a crackhead who didn't know what he was doing... Speaking of which Piper and Hart have alot of WM run ins WM8-**** Match WMX-Piper Refs WMXI-Piper Refs again...
Dangerous K89 Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 Fuck Summerslam 2003 in the ass for ruining the concept of gimmicking Survivor Series to revolve around the Elimination Chamber. I wanted to say that a good idea would be to put all of the Raw title contenders in the EC since they have all been interacting with eachother this year, but I was beat to it in the first post. Damn. But, yeah, Chris Benoit vs. Triple H vs. Edge vs. Kane vs. Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels in the EC at Survivor Series would be great. Even if the line up is almost the same one from the first lineup...*cough*... Eddie vs. Bradshaw - Iron Man Match
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 I doubt Benoit will ever be included in a gimmick match like that. The concept of the match is brutality, but with Benoit & Edge both in there, who both had neck surgery, I don't see it happening, which ruined the match at SSlam 2003. It was just a sloppy brawl. The SSeries 2002 match had a lot on interaction on the steel flooring outside the ropes to make it look more devistating.
