Guest thefrenchargel Report post Posted May 8, 2002 a couple matches that always stick out in my mind are the Leif Cassidy vs. Flash Funk match from IYH:It's Time, from 12/96. kind of sloppy in spots, but it had some really great high-flying action. ECW had a six man tag with the steiners and eddy vs. cactus/scorpio/malenko, kicked all kinds of ass. the rockers vs. orient express i think is the ultimate lost classic, because not only can i not remember if the match is from the 90 or 91 rumble, but it also owned over the rest of the card, busting out some insane simultaneous maneuvers, about **** by my count, smokin' crowd, but janetty did two insanely lame dropkicks, but they don't really take away, you just kind of go "That was weak" and the match picks right back up with killer action into an awesome finish. i never hear many mention of Flair vs. Terry Funk in the I quit match on an 89 clash. can't go wrong with 89 NWA, but i think this match got a little lost in the shuffle, what with flair and steamboat going out every day and having a ***** match and all. Guest godthedog Report post Posted May 12, 2002 lots of bret matches, most of which have already been mentioned. i agree that bret/austin from 'revenge of the taker' is a great match, the psychology is absolutely vicious. there's a bret/hbk cage match thats just awesome, with a finish that bret later stole for his summerslam match with owen. there's a ***** bret/flair iron man match that almost nobody has ever heard of. it's only available on handheld, but it has to be seen to be believed. Anyway, forgotten great matches: Bret Hart and Hakushi had 2 great matches in 95...the one on Raw was one of the best matches I had seen in the WWF that year. I also thought the Bret/Jean Pierre feud was great too. A lot of people bitch about how bad it was for Bret to be working with a Pirate. Who the fuck cares. Their matches were great and that's all that matters. Another great one (which usually gets a lot of praise) is Michaels and Jarrett from the 2nd IYH. That was one of my all-time favorite matches. Other great ones were Michaels and Leif Cassidy from Superstars in 96, HBK and Diesel Vs The Kid and Ramon from Action Zone, Austin's and Savio's series from 96, RVD and Lance Storm from Guilty as Charged 99, Bret and Austin from Revenge of the Taker AND Taker's and Mankind's match from that night (Mankind's SICK table spot).
