Guest Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Yeah you know what a kip up is I assume. Well after seeing wrestlers perform it and also how the tough enough dudes were told to attempt one. So I tried to attempt a kip up. Well I failed. I'm not a out of shape person. Heck I can run pretty fast an jump pretty high for a half Filipino/white guy. When I did it I kicked my legs out but when it came to boosting myself up boom I'm on my back like John Madden would say. I assume I need to build up the tricep muscles to perform a kip up. If you're wondering why in the hell I wanted to do one. Well I'm bored an it would be pretty neat to perform a kip up after having hot sex with my real doll err girlfriend yeah yeah. After I achieve one I will join up with the Electric Boogaloo Crew an Break Dance my Way Across America. Making money on the way So I can save the recreation center of course. Kip Up or Bust here i come.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 I can or could at one point. I never knew I could until I was play wrestling and did an arm wrench-reversal spot (like in No Mercy). You can usually pull it off if you have someone helping to pull you up.
Guest Flyboy Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 No.. not even close. But, I can do the Van Dam Lift, damnit! *points to signature*
Guest Choken One Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 When I played football, I often did Kip ups after a pile up. But it's been about five Years since...I've gotten more muscle and less flexibility...so I doubt I can anymore.
Guest The Great Wesuke Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Yes I can. I'm not even in the best shape of my life and I can still pull one off. I guess it is alot to do with flexibility, but even more to do with inertia. :-)
Guest Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Yeah. I'm very flexible but don't have a lot of body weight.
Guest razazteca Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 no but I can do the Spin A Roonie, Sucka pinoy whose speaks a strange tongue called Tagalog.
Guest Some Guy Posted April 26, 2002 Report Posted April 26, 2002 Yes, I can kip up and I can also do a fromt handspring, like teh ones to reverse out of an armwringer. I not a gymnist or muscular btu I can do those, I can also dunk a basketball, I'm 6'2". That's enough bragging about my meager athletic ability for now.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted April 26, 2002 Report Posted April 26, 2002 I can drink 15 tequila slammers a quarter bottle of absinthe and a load of beer and guinness and skunk and not die. kinda makes up for no athleticism, in an obscure way.
Guest Some Guy Posted April 26, 2002 Report Posted April 26, 2002 I can drink 15 tequila slammers a quarter bottle of absinthe and a load of beer and guinness and skunk and not die. kinda makes up for no athleticism, in an obscure way. I suppose it does, in that obscure way that you refered to.
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted April 26, 2002 Report Posted April 26, 2002 I can do one flat on my back on a trampoline. i tried in P.E the other day and the result was not pretty.
Guest DrainYou42 Posted April 28, 2002 Report Posted April 28, 2002 Nope, but i do own the Pee-Wee Herman Video Box set, much better than a Kip up.
Guest Redhawk Posted April 28, 2002 Report Posted April 28, 2002 Kip-ups are hard as hell, and I thought it was bullshit that they acted like the Tough Enough people who couldn't do them weren't athletes. And besides that, who in the WWF besides The Rock ever does a kip-up?
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted April 28, 2002 Report Posted April 28, 2002 Only the fastest rising star in WWF history...Scotty 2 Hotty!
Guest Choken One Posted April 28, 2002 Report Posted April 28, 2002 Owen Hart and HBK did them just about every match.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 It's hit or miss for me. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't. My back has been messed up for a few months, so I probably couldn't do one right now.
Guest Frankie Williams Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 Wel...i just tried and i got 6 words to say THANK GOD FOR MY INSURANCE!!! OUCH!!
Guest JHawk Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 I used to try. Never quite made it. Probably could if I dedicated a week or so to it though.
Guest Eric the Eagle Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 I could, four or five years ago. Even have it on tape. Guess I could re-learn it, if I really wanted to. The assisted one (as used to counter a wristlock that's got you on your back) is a *lot* easier (used one for the first time in a chain wrestling sequence on wrestling school Saturday..).
Guest CED Ordonez Posted May 3, 2002 Report Posted May 3, 2002 It's a slightly fugly kip up, but I can do it. At least I have done it, but haven't done one in a long while.
Guest papacita Posted May 4, 2002 Report Posted May 4, 2002 I can do a kip up but I hate doing them on the floor. It's uncomfortable and if you mess up...shiiiiiiit.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted May 4, 2002 Report Posted May 4, 2002 I can do it on my bed because it helps to bounce me up mor easily. :-D
