Guest Wonderboy Report post Posted April 25, 2002 So what do you guys think of this show? I'm sorta in the middle as far as my opinion of it goes. It's not horribly bad, but it's not really good either. With Eugene Levy, Seth Green, and Sarah Silverman all on the same show, it should be a WHOLE lot better. I'm really only watching so I can stare at Sarah Silverman on a weekly basis, but I'm hoping it gets better, cause it does seem like it has SOME potential. Come to think of it, I bet I'm the only person that watches this show.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 25, 2002 It does have alot of potential. It's shown some flashes of being much better. However Fox MUST stop pushing it down our throats. I swear it seems like it's on every other day. With Eugene Levy and Seth Green being on it i'm sure that it will get better before it gets worse. But it may don't get a chance to improve. Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted April 25, 2002 I saw one episode... it was OK. It seems to have trouble deciding whether it wants to do childish humor (the fat jokes on the one monkey) or show hints of intelligent commentary (even if its on Hollywood, which has been done to death before). It wasn't a really terrible show, but not really worth watching either. I'd rather rent Meet the Feebles if I wanted to see some muppet madness.
Guest Report post Posted April 25, 2002 Greg The Bunny is by far one of the best comedy shows on Fox. I hope it never gets cancelled. It's very funny.
Guest TUS_02 Report post Posted April 25, 2002 I was hoping someone would mention Meet the Feebles. That's all I can think of when I see comercials for Gret the Bunny. Its too hard to shake off.
Guest Report post Posted April 26, 2002 The first episode was good, but one of the shows have been as good as that one.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted April 27, 2002 I watched Greg The Bunny earlier this week and found it more weird than I did funny. I didn't laugh too many times, and it seems like Eugene Levy is getting the best jokes on this show.
Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted April 27, 2002 Levy is god so he needs the good jokes. SCTV... cant believe NBC took it off for fucking CARSON DALY. grr.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 27, 2002 Well there's nothing wrong with "comedy" shows that are "weird". I mean just look at Eerie Indiana it ruled and was weird as hell.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted April 30, 2002 You're correct in that there's nothing wrong with "weird" comedy or a "weird" show, but as such, it insures that there will be a small, "cult" following but not enough of a mainstream audience for the show to stay. Also, it should be noted that just because something is "weird" doesn't necessarily mean its good to watch or worth watching (example: a lot of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim line-up is bizarre but not really funny... I'd even go so far as to say The Brak Show is one of those shows, and it's only worth watching because Brak was established as such a funny character on "Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast"). Are these shows initially interesting and entertaining? Perhaps, but a show can't live on gimmick alone. At least not without the good writing or other strong aspects to back it up, and I'm still not totally sold that "Greg the Bunny" has those all the time. Guest One Bad Apple Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Out the five comedies on Adult Swim I can recall, I'd say Space Ghost is the worst. I liked the show a lot in the very beginning and still try to catch it once in a while because I enjoy the characters, but it hasn't been doing anything for me for a long time. I haven't seen much of Brak, but what I've seen has been pretty good. The jokes don't make pineapple juice come outta my nose, but the stories and characters keep me entertained. Home Movies also entertains me in the same way. I don't laugh much, but I still think it's clever and keeps me from being bored. Sealab usually sucks, but they've had their moments ... the robot episode was good, and the feng shui one was great. A hit-or-miss deal with me. Favorite show is Hunger Force. Extremely hit-or-miss. I've seen maybe four episodes. Two I thought were garbage, but the Moonanites episode and the one about the living mold or whatever were hilarious. I agree that bizarre for the sake of bizarre isn't worth the time, but bizarre concepts can be appealing if they're executed well, as they are in this show (at least to me). As for Greg the Bunny? I don't care for it much, but I'll probably continue watching for some reason. I'd like to see it have a nice run.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted April 30, 2002 I wouldnt ever even try it as 1) It looks awful 2) It is a complete ripoff of Tv Funhouse, which was awful too.. you could say its a rip off of Meet the Feebles too, but that's a movie , so I wont count it.
