Trade Deadline Trade Rumors

6 weeks really does go by like nothing and I didn't want to clutter up the weekly threads with talks of possible trades and or rumors. So here goes

 

Braves' right-hander Russ Ortiz is rumored to be at the center of trade discussions. The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that the White Sox and Yankees are both pursuing a deal for Ortiz, who won 21 games last year and will become a free agent at the end of the season. In fact a Chicago radio station reported on Friday that the Sox were attempting to finalize a deal.

 

I guess the Braves are seriously thinking about rebuilding. Between the talks of Russ Ortiz moving, Andrew Jones being on the block, and John Smoltz being available and likely a Cub if the Braves continue to lose it just writes itself.
