New England Wrestling Fans...

Recommended Posts

Guest jcmar3x

Just wondering who from the boards lives in the New England area (RI, MA, CT, NH, ME), and what local promotions they are into.

I used to promote some shows a couple years back while doing a gimmick as a manager in some other places, and I'm just kinda curious to see who else is out there from around these parts.

:headbang:

Thanks ahead of time...

Give me your gimmick name so I know you're not trying to solicit or shady shit like that...I'm EXTREMELY familiar with the NE indy scene so I'll know if you're BSing or not.

The gimmick name would be the very same name I use as a poster...

JC Marxxx. I began working as a ring announcer in 1999 for UCW (Unified Championship Wrestling). Later in the year I began doing little managing spots for small lil no budget indy promotions, managing the likes of Doctor Heresy, Don Juan DeSanto, and The Damned.

I worked for SCCW (the other half of Top Rope Promotions along with Yankee Pro Wrestling) where I managed Don Juan DeSanto, and The Highlight Kid. I even got to work a match with Brutus The Barber, which was huge for me since I was a big mark when I was little for Beefcake. He even shaved my head! :D

I also worked as a ring announcer for the defunct MayheM promotion, while also working in Yankee Pro and ICCW (where I got to work with Nova and Little Guido, shortly after ECW's last days.)

I promoted my own shows under the Northeast Championship Wrestling banner. I promoted with Chris Venom (who now works with Brutal Bob Evans training people at Slamtech University and wrestles with Steve Bradley's WFA) in various small VFW Halls and KOC's. One of our wrestlers, Broadway Kenn Phoenix, who started wrestling with us in 2001 and was informally trained by Killer Kowalski, recently headed down to the OVW area out of his own pocket in an attempt to get noticed by WWE. Him and his brother Mike have wrestled TV and dark matches for Sunday Night Heat.

Eh, well thats about that... Oh and Corey whats up.

Well, I've been watching Brian Fury since he was doing backwoods New Hampshire indys, so he's a sentimental fave of mine -I dig his tag work in NECW.

Alex Arion is always a solid worker, same with John Walters. My FAVORITE guy in New England though, is Arch Kincaid, he's great as a mic worker, both doing comedy and serious stuff, and is a solid wrestler. Good talent in the ring too, it's a real shame he hasn't gotten that much exposure.

*owns a tie-dyed Arch Kincaid t-shirt*
