Plug one end of a cable into your stereos headphones port (or the line out port, if it has one) and plug the other end into your soundcards line-in port (or mic port if you don't have a line-in.)

Then use the program of your choice to record the audio. Preferably as wav. If desired, convert it.

 

Don't ask me how that cable is called, I don't know.

It's called a 1/8" to 1/8" Sony connector cable.

Audacity is a great program for capturing and editing audio. It also has a built in hiss reducer.
