Hell In A Cell Match I Wrote A While Back

Recommended Posts

Guest Holzhammer

Just felt like posting it. :D

A video package is shown to show the history between these two men, from the first time they met in ECW to their encounters in the WCW, their departure to the WWE as part of the Radicalz and what happened between them that it had to come to this final encounter in the most hellish, brutal and sadistic environment in professional wrestling. Both their careers will be changed forever and maybe even ended. Sufficient to say that their lives won’t be the same again after this encounter.

Whatever” by Our Lady Peace hits the speakers and the crowd jumps to their feet as the Canadian Crippler, Chris Benoit, makes his way down to the ring. He is wearing a blue wrestling pants and his hair is wet and combed back. He stops a few feet away from the Cell and looks up. After observing it for about thirty seconds, he gets in and enters the ring, then pacing back and forth as he awaits the arrival of his opponent.

The air raid sirens wail and out from the back comes the former US Army Ranger, Perry Saturn. He’s wearing teal-coloured trunks. The crowd gives him a mixed reaction but mostly cheers. He looks very determined as he approaches the Cell and he too stops outside of the Cell. Not to study the Cell, but to study Chris Benoit who’s pacing back and forth in the ring. Saturn finally enters the Cell and walks around the ring a few times. Mike Chioda is on the outside and locks the Cell door, padlocking it so nobody can get out or in. Saturn walks up the steel steps and stands on the apron, exchanging stone-cold looks with Benoit. He finally steps through the ropes and walks towards his opponent.

Chris Benoit vs Perry Saturn (Hell In A Cell)

Chris Benoit and Perry Saturn stand face to face. They bore a hole in each other with their cold gaze. The referee in the ring, Earl Hebner, says they need to shake hands. For a few seconds neither competitor does anything, then Benoit slowly extends his hand. Saturn slowly grabs it and shakes it. These two men have a long history together and have tons of respect for each other. The fans cheer at the sportsmanship these two have. They let go of each other’s hand and the referee signals for the bell to be rung. Ding! The very first Hell In A Cell match for both men has started.

They start circling around, not taking their eyes off each other. Saturn suddenly does a crouched slide forwards on one knee to try and grab Benoit’s leg, but the Canadian lifts his foot up and quickly steps backwards. Saturn gets up and he and Benoit start circling again. There’s the first lock-up. Benoit quickly arm-drags Saturn down. They both get up and circle once more like vultures who have spotted a juicy carcass. Another lock-up and this time it’s Saturn who takes Benoit down with an armdrag. Benoit jumps to his feet again, as does Saturn.

Once again they start walking along the ropes, eyeing each other. They both take a big step forwards and lock up. Benoit grabs one of Saturn’s arms and wrings it. Saturn bends over slightly, holding his shoulder with his free hand. Benoit slowly wrings the arm again and Saturn kneels, touching the mat with his free arm. He suddenly does a roll forwards and flips forwards on his head, getting out of the armlock and immediately wringing Benoit’s arm. Benoit does a roll forwards himself and then does a cartwheel. As he stands back on both feet, he immediately applies a Hammerlock. Saturn does a few steps and then elbows Benoit in the head. The Canadian doesn’t let go though. Saturn tries another elbow, but Benoit ducks it and changes the Hammerlock to a waistlock. He lifts Saturn off his feet a bit and then falls forward to take him down. He then applies a Hammerlock again with his left knee in Saturn’s back. Saturn manages to wrap his free arm around Benoit’s head, applying a 3/4 Facelock. Benoit puts more pressure on both the Hammerlock and the knee in the back and Saturn lets go in pain. He slowly crawls closer to the ropes and after thirty seconds or so he grabs them. Benoit lets go of Saturn and backs off, allowing him to get back to his feet.

Jim Ross: “Nice bit of chain wrestling here and Chris Benoit shows Perry Saturn respect by allowing him to get up. These two men have tons of respect for each other.”

Lawler: “Why doesn’t take Benoit advantage of the situation? He had Saturn grounded. He could just pull him back to the middle of the ring and put him in the Crossface.”

Jim Ross: “That’s easier said than done, King. Just like Benoit, Saturn is an excellent amateur wrestler and wouldn’t just let Benoit drag him to the middle of the ring and apply the Crossface.”

Perry shakes his head to get it a bit looser and raises his right hand, calling for a test of strength. As Benoit raises his left hand to agree to it, Saturn gives him a Roundhouse Kick against his leg, then one against his stomach and finishes it off with a jumping Spin Kick. Benoit stumbles backwards against the ropes and falls down. Saturn drags him up by his head and drags him towards a corner where he slams his head on the top turnbuckle. He grabs his arm and goes to whip him across the ring, but Benoit reverses the Irish whip. Saturn arrives at the other turnbuckle, grabs the top rope and jumps up so he’s perfectly horizontal. Benoit stops and grabs his legs, throwing them over the top rope to the outside. Saturn keeps holding on to the top ropes though and slides under the bottom rope, kicking Benoit in the stomach with both feet.

Benoit stumbles back. Saturn jumps to his feet and applies a Side Headlock on his opponent. Benoit does a few steps backwards until he’s against the ropes and then pushes Saturn into the opposite ropes. Saturn comes back and Shoulderblocks Benoit down. Saturn runs into the ropes again. He bounces off and jumps over Benoit, who’s flat on his stomach. He bounces off the ropes on the opposite side and runs under a Leapfrogging Benoit. Again he bounces off and jumps over Benoit who tried to Monkey Flip him. Saturn lands with a roll and jumps to his feet again, as does Benoit. Perry runs at Chris and tries to connect with a Spinning Heel Kick, but the Canadian moves out of the way. Benoit launches himself into the ropes and tries a Diving Forearm, but Saturn moves out of the way. Saturn moves in for a clothesline, but Benoit ducks it and takes Perry down with a Backslide:

1... He kicks out.

Both men get to their feet again, but Saturn immediately sweeps Benoit’s legs from under him and goes for the cover himself:

1... kick-out.

They immediately get to their feet again and take distance, breathing a bit heavier from the last few quick actions. The crowd applauds their efforts.

Jim Ross: “This packed arena shows their appreciation for those lightning-fast moves that these two very capable competitors exchanged with each other and I can’t help but appreciate it too.”

They start circling around each other again. Benoit combs his hair backwards with both hands and Saturn goes over his moustache once with his right hand. They go to lock up again, but Saturn grabs Benoit’s leg. He turns around and runs into the ropes. Benoit goes flat on his stomach again. Saturn does a jumping roll over him and gets up again. He runs at Benoit, but Benoit sidesteps him and pushes him in the ropes. Saturn bounces off and gets caught with a Japanese armdrag. They both get up and run at each other, but this time it’s Benoit who gets taken down with a Japanese armdrag. Benoit gets up again. Saturn tries a Leg Sweep, but Benoit jumps over it. Saturn gets up, but Benoit arm-drags him into a corner.

Perry gets to his knees as Chris walks over to him. The latter kicks the former in the stomach and pulls him up. He wrenches his arm and tries to Irish whip him into the opposite corner. Saturn reverses it though and Benoit runs chest-first into the turnbuckles. He stumbles backwards. Saturn hits the ropes and takes Benoit down with a clothesline as he comes back. He drags him up again and applies a waistlock from behind. Benoit manages to get out and goes behind Saturn, applying a waistlock of his own. He does a release German Suplex, but Saturn lands on his feet. Benoit turns around. He goes for a clothesline, but Saturn grabs his arm and applies a Hammerlock. He quickly lets go and tries a German Suplex of his own. Benoit blocks it though by hooking his feet around Saturn’s ankles. He grabs Saturn with a 3/4 Facelock and rolls forwards in a modified Snapmare. But Saturn lands on his back and Benoit hooks both his legs as he sits at his opponent’s head for the cover:

1... 2... Saturn kicks out.

Jim Ross: “Another fine piece of quick exchanges by both men. This match is incredible already and we haven’t even started properly yet!”

Lawler: “For once I have to agree with you, JR. Benoit and Saturn are awesome!”

They both get to their feet again. Benoit gives Saturn some knife-edge chops across the chest, drawing “Wooo”s from the crowd. Saturn is backed against the ropes. Benoit Irish whips him. Saturn bounces off the ropes and gets nailed with a clothesline. Benoit drags him to his feet again and gives him some more chops, backing him into a corner. He chops him some more but then stops with them and starts kicking him in the stomach. Saturn drops down and sits on the lower turnbuckle. Benoit drags him up and applies a Front Facelock, then dragging him backwards a bit. Snap Suplex. Benoit jumps on Saturn quick as a cat for the cover:

1... 2... kick-out.

Benoit runs into the ropes as Saturn gets on one knee. He comes back and goes to kick him in the head, but Saturn catches his foot. Benoit hops to stay on his feet (well, foot) as Saturn stares coldly at him. The Canadian tries an Enziguiri, but Perry ducks it. He applies a waistlock from behind and drags his opponent to his feet. Release German Suplex is successful and Benoit rolls out of the ring. Saturn runs towards the ropes on the opposite side of Benoit and comes back. Benoit sees Saturn running towards him and runs out of the way. The former US Army Ranger grabs the top rope and jumps over it, landing on the apron. Benoit is walking away from him, assuming Saturn jumped over or through the ropes and hit the Cell. He is proven wrong as Saturn runs at Benoit on the apron and jumps off, smacking Benoit’s head on the thin mats with a Bulldog! Benoit grabs his face with both hands and screams in pain.

Jim Ross: “Oh my God! Benoit could have broken his nose there!”

Lawler: “Maybe he lost even more teeth, hah!”

Saturn doesn’t care and starts stomping away on his chest and face. After about ten stomps, he drags him to his feet again. He grabs Benoit’s left arm and launches him into the steel steps, shoulder-first. Saturn calmly walks towards Benoit, who’s lying in a heap in pain. Perry drags him to his feet again, grabs his head and smashes it against the steel Cell. He pushes him backwards against the ring and Irish whips him into the Cell again. He does this again... and a third time. Then Benoit falls to his knees, his face leaning against the cold steel. Saturn grabs his head with both hands and does the classic cheese grater spot, rubbing Benoit’s head against the Cell wall. Benoit screams in pain and claws at Saturn’s face, but Saturn doesn’t stop. After about twenty seconds of pure agony for Benoit, Saturn stops. A trickle of blood runs down Benoit’s forehead and the right side of his right eye.

Jim Ross: “Chris Benoit is bleeding! And if that blood runs in his eye, he may be blinded and at a serious disadvantage here.”

Saturn drags Benoit to his feet and rolls him back in the ring. He then gets on the apron and slingshots himself over the top rope and lands with a Leg Drop on Benoit’s neck. He hooks the leg:

1... 2... Benoit gets the shoulder up.

Saturn gets up and drags Benoit with him. A few chops across his chest follow. Saturn goes for an Irish whip, but Benoit reverses it. Saturn bounces off the ropes and Benoit lays down on his stomach again. Saturn jumps over him... and drops an elbow on his back. He gets up and runs into the ropes. He rebounds just as Benoit got to his feet and takes him down again with a Spinning Heel Kick. Saturn drags Benoit to his feet again and punches him into a corner. Irish whip into the opposite corner. Benoit jumps on the second turnbuckle and jumps off again, taking Saturn down with a Body Press for the cover:

1... 2... kick-out.

They get to their feet. Benoit Dropkicks Saturn, who falls through the ropes and to the outside. The Canadian looks at him for just a split second and runs into the ropes on the opposite side. He bounces off and connects with a Baseball Slide against Saturn’s chest. Saturn falls backwards against the Cell and slides down on the floor.

Benoit starts kicking him in the head repeatedly. After quite some stomps, Benoit drags him to his feet again. He grabs his left arm, wrings it and launches him into the Cell wall. Saturn screams and cringes. Benoit grabs his arm again and pulls him a few feet away from the Cell wall he was just slammed against. The Canadian suddenly turns around and launches Saturn into the Cell again. Benoit runs at Saturn and rams his shoulder into his gut and trapping him between himself and the Cell wall. Benoit gives him some more shoulderblocks in the gut. He stops after having delivered about eight of them. He lifts Saturn up and puts him over his right shoulder. Benoit runs at the ring post and throws Saturn head-first in it like he was a javelin!

Jim Ross: “Oh! That had to hurt.”

Lawler: “Yeah, if Saturn had any brains he might have gotten a concussion!”

Benoit puts Saturn over his shoulder again and walks towards the ring steps. He throws him face-first on top of them with the Snake Eyes! The Crippler looks down at his opponent and wipes the blood off his face as it’s almost in his right eye. He rolls Saturn back into the ring and then gets in himself. He drags him to his feet. A few knife-edge chops across the chest follow before Perry gets Irish-whipped into the ropes. Benoit puts his hands against Saturn’s chest as he comes back and pushes him high up in the air for a Flapjack. Saturn lands hard on his stomach. Benoit grabs his legs and applies an elevated Boston Crab (Liontamer, original Walls Of Jericho). Saturn screams in pain. Referee Earl Hebner asks if he wants to give up, but Saturn yells “no”. Benoit puts more pressure on his opponent’s back, trying to fold it backwards. Saturn screams louder. The referee asks him again, but again Saturn refuses to give up. He manages to support himself on his elbows and crawls through Benoit’s legs, making it a normal Boston Crab. Like this, Saturn has a chance of reaching the ropes. He crawls towards them... Almost there... Almost... No, Benoit pulls him back to the middle of the ring! Saturn screams and Benoit does too, yelling at him to give up. Saturn refuses to though. He grabs Benoit’s right leg with his left arm and pulls it backwards. Benoit falls forwards on his knees. He has to release the hold and put his hands in front of him so he doesn’t fall flat on his face. Saturn hooks him with a Backslide:

1... 2... Benoit gets out.

Jim Ross: “Perry Saturn turned a desperate situation around into a near-win. That’s the sign of a truly great wrestler.”

Benoit slowly gets to his feet as Saturn tries to pull himself up with the ropes. Benoit grabs his head and tries to drag him up, but he gets punched in the stomach. Saturn gets up and starts to punch Benoit in the head. The Canadian stumbles back. Saturn just lays more and more punches into the bloody Benoit. He’s on the other side of ring in a corner now. Saturn kicks Benoit in the gut a few times. He then grabs him as if for an Inverted Atomic Drop and puts him on the top rope. Saturn climbs up with his former fellow Radical. He hooks him for a Superplex on the second rope. It seems as he thinks that isn’t enough and he gets up the top rope, still having Benoit hooked for a Superplex. Benoit gets on his feet on the top rope as well and he hooks Saturn, looking backwards to see if he can pull a Superplex to the outside off! The crowd realizes what Benoit wants to do and starts cheering louder and clapping their hands. But Saturn has other plans though, he punches Benoit in the sides a few times and tries the Superplex... But Benoit shifts his weight in mid-flight and lands on top of Saturn as he comes down hard on the mat! He hooks the leg:

1... 2... Saturn gets the shoulder up.

Both men are down and are breathing heavily. Benoit wipes the blood off his face again and gets on one knee. He grabs the top rope and drags himself up. He pick Saturn up and puts him against the ropes. Some knife-edge chops against the chest follow. Attempted Irish whip into the ropes... But Saturn reverses it into a waistlock from behind. He applies a stinging Half-Nelson and Suplexes Benoit, dropping him right on his head! The cover:

1... 2... Benoit puts his foot on the rope.

Saturn slowly gets up. He kicks Benoit a few times in the head, then putting his foot on the wound on his forehead and scraping it! Benoit is screaming in pain and claws at Saturn’s foot. The referee tells Saturn to stop it, but he doesn’t have to listen because you can’t get disqualified. Saturn keeps scraping it for just a bit more and then lets go. Benoit rolls around, covering his wound with his hands. Saturn starts kicking him in the head again before dragging him to his feet. He kicks him in the gut and picks him up in a Fireman’s Carry. Saturn turns around to take a look at every part of the crowd, who cheers loudly for him. He starts running through the ring. He tumbles forwards, planting Benoit with a Steamroller. Saturn immediately gets up and jumps on the second rope while holding the top rope. He bounces off the second rope and jumps again on the top rope, then soaring through the air with a beau-ti-ful Saturnsault (Moonsault). He hits it perfectly. The hook of the leg:

1... 2... Benoit kicks out, to much delight of the crowd.

Saturn sits on his knees and puts his hands on his sides, wondering what he has to do to put Benoit away. He gets to his feet and drags his opponent up with him. Kick to the gut again. Saturn applies a double Underhook, maybe going for a Butterfly Suplex or, more devastating, an Underhook Piledriver. Whatever it was going to be, we’ll never know because Benoit gets free and grabs Saturn’s legs, making him fall down on his back. Benoit catapults Saturn over the top rope and to the outside. He waits for Saturn to be almost on his feet. Then he runs into the ropes on the opposite side of him and bounces off. He flies through the ropes with a Tope and hits Saturn, smacking him against the Cell wall! Both men are down again. Benoit is the first to get to his feet after fifteen seconds or so. He goes to pick Saturn up, but he stops and starts looking under the ring for something.

Jim Ross: “Uh oh, I don’t like this. What is he looking for?”

Lawler: “Maybe his teeth.”

Benoit doesn’t find anything on that side of the ring, so he moves towards another side. He smiles and drags something from under the ring. The crowd cheers loudly as they see what Benoit has. A table! He sets it up in the corner that separates Benoit from Saturn. Benoit rolls into the ring and then out again on the side of Saturn, who is up by now. Perry throws a punch, but Chris blocks it and punches him back a few times. He kicks him in the gut and picks him up.. Bodyslam on the thin mats and Saturn lets out a short scream of pain. Benoit drags Saturn to his feet and towards the table. He slams his head on the table... and a second time. Benoit kicks Saturn in the gut and applies a standing Head Scissors.

Jim Ross: “No, don’t do it! Don’t do it, Benoit. You’re going to break him in half!”

Benoit lifts Saturn up for the Wild Bomb (Powerbomb), but Saturn manages to reverse it into a Face Slam on the thin mats. The crowd lets out a loud “Oooh”, feeling Benoit’s pain as his face gets smashed on the floor. Saturn picks him back up. Bodyslam on the table. He pulls himself up on the apron with the ropes and climbs the top turnbuckle. The fans start to cheer louder in anticipation. Saturn looks around at the crowd... Elbow Drop from the top rope on Benoit! The table splinters and breaks in half! The fans go berserk, chanting “Holy Shit!”

Jim Ross: “My God, my God! Benoit is broken in half!”

After a minute or so, Saturn starts to move again. He slowly, very slowly, makes it to his feet. He picks Benoit up and rolls him back into the ring. He hooks the leg for the cover:

1... 2... Benoit gets his shoulder up!

The crowd cheer loudly and chant Benoit’s name.

Both men lie on the mat, panting heavily. Saturn gets to his feet first. He drags Benoit up and gives him some punches to the head. Irish whip into the ropes. Benoit ducks a clothesline and immediately applies a waistlock from behind... German Suplex! Benoit keeps his hand clasped around the waist of his opponent. A second German! Both men struggle to get up. Saturn elbows Benoit in the head... And again. But Benoit pulls out a third German, and still he keeps his hands locked. He gets on one knee, rests his chin on Saturn’s back for a second and then gets up, pulling Saturn up with him... Fourth German! A bridging/pinning one:

1... 2... Saturn breaks free.

Both men are down once more. Benoit starts to stir after half a minute. He slowly makes it to his feet and drags Saturn to his feet. Benoit chops Saturn across the chest a few times and backs him up in the ropes while doing so. Irish whip in the ropes... gets reversed. Benoit doesn’t bounce back though, but hangs on to the ropes. Saturn runs at him... and gets Backdropped over the top rope. But he manages to land on the apron. Benoit turns around. Saturn grabs his head and gives him a flurry of punches. He then hooks him with a Front Facelock... But before he can Suplex Benoit to the outside, Benoit knees him in the gut. The Canadian jumps over the top rope and plants Saturn with a Sunset Flip Powerbomb! Benoit drags him to his feet and launches him into the Cell wall. Saturn bounces off, cringing and screaming. Benoit pulls him towards him and takes a few steps back, then launching him into the Cell wall again. He does this one more time, and we can see that a bit of the bottom right corner of the Cell wall has come loose and can be pushed open but you can’t go through it. Benoit grabs Saturn’s head and smacks it on the steel steps. Then he rolls him back into the ring. Benoit uses the steps to get back in the ring. He drags Saturn to his feet and hooks him for a Suplex. He lifts him up... And drops him stomach-first on the top rope. Benoit paces around for a few seconds and then grabs Saturn’s head as he is still hanging on the top rope... DDT! Benoit looks around. He makes the slit-throat gesture!

Jim Ross: “This is it! Benoit says that the end isn’t near, the end is here!”

Lawler: “Get up, Saturn! You won’t get up from this!”

Benoit starts walking towards a corner and gets on the apron. He then starts climbing the turnbuckle. He spreads his arms and... flies down with the Swandive Headbutt! ... But Saturn rolls out of the way just in time! Both warriors are down. Saturn drags himself towards Benoit and manages to put his hand on his chest. Hebner goes down for the count:

1... 2... kick-out!

The fans cheer and can’t get enough from this match. Both men stay down for another minute before they finally start moving again. They’re up at the same time, but struggle to stay to their feet. Saturn with a punch. Benoit with a punch. They keep exchanging blows until Saturn thumbs Benoit in his left eye. The Canadian stumbles back. Saturn runs at him and nails him with a Spinning Heel Kick. He gets up and picks Benoit up, lifting him off the ground. He walks towards a turnbuckle and puts Benoit on top of it. Saturn looks around at the crowd, who are still cheering without quieting down. He gets on the apron and turns Benoit around to face him and the outside of the ring.

Jim Ross: “Uh oh. This is bad. Very bad.”

Lawler: “Are you kidding?! This is great! This is what the fans paid for!”

Saturn does a few steps away from Benoit, while still on the apron. He grabs the top rope and slingshots himself on top of them. He springboards at Benoit and goes for a Hurricanrana to the outside... But Benoit keeps holding on. Saturn swings his arms wildly and shakes his head, screaming “No, no, no!”. Benoit lifts him up again to almost on his shoulders and then drives him down with a vicious Super Wild Bomb Suicida to the outside! The crowd loses their mind and starts their second “Holy Shit” chant from the match.

Jim Ross: “Oh my God. Oh my God. Benoit just broke Saturn’s back! He killed him, by God. This didn’t just happen!”

Lawler: “It did happen, JR! But I think you’re right. Saturn isn’t moving, and Benoit is barely conscious!”

The “Holy Shit” chant starts to fade away after a minute or so, but neither competitors is moving. Earl Hebner checks on them but keeps the match going. There has to be a winner! Finally, after what seems like an hour, Benoit starts to stir. He tries to get to his feet and after a few failed tries he manages to do just that. He drags Saturn’s body up and rolls it in the ring. Benoit slides in as well and drapes his arm over Perry’s chest. The cover:

1... 2... Saturn gets the shoulder up! Unbelievable!

The crowd explodes as they know they will see more action now and because they’re glad that Saturn isn’t hurt badly. Benoit suddenly slams his hand hard on the mat, mad that he didn’t win. He gets to his feet and starts stomping away on Saturn like a madman. He then kicks him to the outside of the ring. The Crippler is about to do what his name suggests as he walks over to the shattered table and takes a sharp piece of wood. He walks over to Saturn, mounts him and starts stabbing his forehead with the piece of wood. Earl Hebner tries to take it away, but Benoit shoves him away and continues stabbing, then trying to cut Saturn’s forehead open. And soon enough the blood start pouring from a big wound. Satisfied, Benoit throws the piece of wood away and gets up. He starts scraping the wound with his boot, just as Saturn did earlier with his.

Jim Ross: “What has gotten into Benoit?! He’s killing Saturn! As if that Powerbomb wasn’t enough!”

Lawler: “Saturn cut Benoit open earlier in the match, Benoit is just returning the favour, JR. Come on, Benoit. Kill him!”

Jim Ross: “You make me sick, King.”

Finally, he drags him up again. Irish whip into the part of the Cell that could be pushed open a bit. This time it opens a bit more. Benoit drags Saturn away from the Cell and then throws him into it again and it opens even more. Saturn falls down and sits against the wall, barely conscious and his face covered with blood. Benoit picks up the ring steps and walks towards Saturn, only stopping a few feet away from him. He raises the steps high above his head and throws them at Saturn. It hits him right in the face! Benoit picks up the steps again. He throws them again... But Saturn moves out of the way and the steps collide with the Cell. The nine by nine foot part of the Cell falls out to the outside. Benoit walks over to Saturn and drags him to his feet. He faces away from the steps, but stands right in front of them. He picks up Saturn with a Gutwrench and falls backwards, trying to smash Saturn’s face on the steps, but Saturn manages to land on his feet on the steps. Benoit turns around. Perry jumps off the steps and grabs Benoit’s head on the way down, DDTing him on the steel steps!

Jim Ross: “Oh my God! That’s a concussion at least. Probably a heavy one, a very heavy one!”

Saturn drags Benoit up. The camera focuses on Benoit’s face and everyone can see that Benoit’s face is covered with blood completely. It’s one big, crimson mask. Saturn grabs Benoit’s arm and launches him into the security barrier through the hole in the Cell. But Benoit jumps on the security barrier and turns around. His face and upper chest are all dark-red from all the blood. We can only see his eyes. He flexes his muscles while boring a hole through Saturn and he screams like a barbarian, a primitive war-cry that would send everyone fleeing.

Jim Ross: “Chris Benoit snapped! Look at his face, he completely snapped. He lost it!”

Lawler: “Aaah, run away, Saturn!”

Saturn has a scared look on his also bloody face. Benoit jumps off the security barrier and slowly walks towards his opponent. Saturn freaks out and runs away, into the cell and slides into the ring. Benoit is in hot pursuit. Saturn slides out on the other side of the ring and so does Benoit. Benoit is chasing Saturn around the ring. Suddenly the former US Army Ranger stops and Superkicks Benoit, nailing him. He runs away and tries to run up the entrance way but Mike Chioda, who was guarding the Cell door, blocks his path and tells him that he needs to keep fighting. Saturn sees that Benoit is up and chasing him again. He looks around and in a desperate attempt to get away from Benoit, he starts climbing the Cell!

Jim Ross: “Oh no. Nothing good can happen up there. Don’t do it, Saturn. You’re going to get yourself killed!”

Benoit reaches the spot where Saturn is climbing and jumps up. He manages to grab his right leg and tries to pull him down. Saturn manages to kick him away and continues climbing. Benoit starts climbing the Cell as well. Saturn gets to the top. He looks down at an enraged, insane Benoit and then looks around. He sees there’s nowhere to go so he waits for Benoit go get there. Benoit peeks above the Cell and Saturn starts laying punches into the face, making the white tape that was across is hands red with Benoit’s blood. He finally pulls Benoit on the Cell. He goes to punch him, but the Crippler blocks it and knees Saturn in the gut. He applies a Front Facelock and turns around. Snap Suplex on the top of the Cell. Benoit drags him back to his feet. He applies a standing Head Scissors and looks around at the screaming fans. Benoit nods slowly and locks his hand around the stomach of Saturn. He lifts him up for a Powerbomb... and falls backwards so Saturn lands face-first on the steel bar in the centre of the ceiling!

Jim Ross: “Saturn landed right with his face on the steel and guess who won that exchange!”

Benoit looks down at Saturn who appears to be out cold. He walks over to the opposite side of where he climbed the cell and starts descending it. He’s right in front of the announcers table of Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. He walks over to the ring announcer and throws him off his chair. He grabs the chair, closes it and throws it on the top of the Cell, then starts climbing it again. When he’s on top of the Cell again, Saturn is on one knee. Benoit grabs the chair and walks over to Saturn. He goes to hit him with it, but Saturn kicks it right into Benoit’s face with a single-leg Dropkick! Benoit falls down, backwards. Saturn walks over to him and grabs the chair. He waits for Benoit to get up and after half a minute, he does so. Saturn swings the chair... But Benoit evades the shot and applies a waistlock from behind. He turns around... Release German Suplex and Saturn flies off the Cell! He crashes through the announcers table! The fans start their third “Holy Shit” chant.

Jim Ross: “By God, by God! Saturn was Suplexed right off the top of the Cell! Benoit just won the match, that’s double-damn sure! There’s no way in hell that Saturn can recover from this.”

Lawler: “I don’t think Benoit is finished though, JR. Look!”

Benoit stands at the edge of the roof of the Cell, breathing heavily and looking down at Perry Saturn. His entire face and chest and parts of his arms are covered with blood. He looks at the sold-out arena. They scream his name. Benoit takes a few deep breaths.

Jim Ross: “He’s not going to do it, is he? He’s crazier than a pet coon if he does it.”

Lawler: “He’s going to do it, JR! He’s going to do it! Get your cameras ready, ladies and gentlemen!”

Chris Benoit spreads his arms. He dives at Saturn with his arms still spread. Cameras flash from all possible angles. He connects with the Swandive Headbutt!

Jim Ross: “By God! Benoit just sacrificed his own body to do even more damage to Saturn! They aren’t moving. Neither of them is moving! Get a damn medic!”

Earl Hebner rushes out of the Cell towards both competitors and checks on them.

Jim Ross: “I don’t believe this. Ladies and gentlemen, my apologies for what just happened and those shocking images.”

He waits for about two-three full minutes before making the “X” sign to the back. A team of medics with two stretchers run out from the back. They go around the Cell and towards Benoit and Saturn. They pick Benoit up first as he’s laying on top of Saturn. The medics try to put him on the stretcher, but Benoit shoves them away. The crowd erupts as he does this as they were all worried about Chris Benoit and Perry Saturn. Benoit turns around to see what’s up with Saturn. He’s getting helped by medics. Benoit walks over to them and starts beating them to much delight of the crowd! After they all back down, Benoit drags Saturn to his feet. He throws him against the Cell. He walks over the Cell and kicks Saturn in the gut. He applies a standing Head Scissors and lifts him up his shoulders for a Powerbomb. With his opponent on his shoulders, Benoit turns around and falls backwards. Saturn grabs on to the Cell though and kicks Benoit away. He then starts climbing it again.

Jim Ross: “No, not again, Perry. Think of what happened a few minutes ago. You won’t survive it.”

But Saturn doesn’t hear Jim Ross and even if he did he probably wouldn’t have listened to him. Benoit starts climbing after him. Saturn reaches the top and scrambles to get the steel chair that was left up there. He turns around and sees that Benoit is almost right behind him. He swings... And connects with Benoit’s head! Benoit falls backwards and off the Cell... But he manages to grab onto the top of the Cell, fortunately for him. Saturn walks towards him and stands over him with a sick grin on his face. Benoit sees it and tries to get on the top again. Saturn stomps on Benoit’s right hand, and he has to let go. He’s hanging on with one hand! The crowd is going nuts. Saturn tries to stomp on Benoit’s other hand, but Benoit manages to grabs his foot with his free hand and pulls Saturn down. He falls off the Cell! ... But he too manages to hang on. They’re hanging next to each other right now and exchange punches. Benoit with a thumb to the eye to buy him some time. He gets on the top again. Saturn is right behind him. The two fierce warriors slug it out on top with hard, stiff punches and chops. Saturn with a kick to the shin and down goes Benoit. Saturn drags Benoit up and more to the centre of the top. He hooks him with a Pumphandle... and Suplexes him back-first on the steel tip in the middle! Benoit screams in pain. Saturn gets up and starts doing something with a part of the roof. He’s opening the safety-clips on three sides with which the nine by nine foot part of the roof is attached to the rest! All the clips on three sides are opened. Saturn sits down on the edge of a “safe” part and starts kicking the loose part. The part swings down into the Cell. Saturn gets up and turns around. Kick to the gut by Benoit. He applies a standing Head Scissors.

Jim Ross: “I know I’ve said it a lot in this match but don’t do it Benoit! Saturn can’t take it anymore. You will surely cripple him!”

Lawler: “He is the Crippler, JR. Come on, Benoit! Do it!”

Benoit lifts Saturn up on his shoulders, ready to Wild Bomb him to the mat below. He brings him down... but Saturn turns it into a Hurricanrana. He holds on to the edge of the top while Benoit flies down to the mat. Wham! He lands back-first on the mat! Benoit bumps up a few inches and then lies completely still. A fourth “Holy Shit” chant starts up. Saturn crawls back on the roof. He sees Benoit below him and gets that sick smile again.

Lawler: “I know, JR. I know. Don’t do it, Saturn. You’re going to kill both yourself and Benoit. Blah, blah, blah. Go on, Saturn. Do it!”

Saturn crouches near the edge... He drops himself down with an Elbow Drop on top of Benoit! The fifth “Holy Shit” chant starts up and the crowd just can’t get enough of it. Strangely enough, Jim Ross and Lawler are both silent as they witness this. Neither Perry Saturn or Chris Benoit are moving but you can clearly see them breathe. After a minute or so, Saturn rolls over and drapes his hand over Benoit’s chest:

1... 2... Benoit gets the shoulder up!

And the crowd erupts once again. Both men stay down, exhausted. After a while, at least two minutes, Saturn gets to his feet. He drags Benoit up and pushes him into a corner. He gives him some chops across the chest and knees in the gut. Irish whip into the opposite corner. Saturn runs at Benoit... And connects with a clothesline. Saturn does a few steps back and Benoit stumbles out of the corner... Northern Lights Suplex!

1... 2... Benoit kicks out.

Saturn drags Benoit to his feet again. He pushes him in the ropes. Irish whip. Benoit ducks a clothesline. Saturn tries to catch him with a tilt-a-whirl Backbreaker, but Benoit manages to take him down with an Armbar and applies the Crippler Crossface! The crowd erupts once more and Saturn screams in pain. He’s close to tapping! The blood of Benoit streams down his side and onto the upper back of his opponent. Saturn slowly tries to get up, but Benoit forces him down again all the time. But Saturn keeps trying to get up. He slowly gets to one knee... then he manages to put his other foot on the mat. He tries to get on both feet and manages to do that after a while. He grabs Benoit and gives him a modified Death Valley Driver! Both men are down but Saturn still manages to hook the leg for the cover:

1... 2... Benoit gets the shoulder up.

Saturn rolls under the bottom rope and onto the apron. He gets up and waits for Benoit to do the same. He does so. Saturn springboards and nails Benoit with a Springboard Spinning Heel Kick. He quickly gets to his feet again. He grabs Benoit by the head and goes sit on the top turnbuckle. He goes to stand on the top rope and drags Benoit up to the second. He lifts him up for what could be a Piledriver from the top rope.

Jim Ross: “If this is going to connect, Benoit is going to have a serious headache in the morning.”

Lawler: “Do you have Alzheimer or something, JR? Did you forget all the things that happened already? They’re going to have pain everywhere tomorrow, even if they stop right now!”

The Piledriver connects! Saturn hooks the leg and the crowd counts along:

1... 2... Benoit grabs the bottom rope!

The cheers start up again. Neither of these two bloody warriors will not give up! Saturn goes to drag Benoit to his feet, but Benoit rolls him up in a Small Package:

1... 2... Saturn gets out.

Lawler: “Man, an ending like that would be an anti-climax to what we saw from these two.”

Both men jump to their feet. Benoit ducks a clothesline. Saturn turns around. Kick to the gut by Benoit... Folding Wild Bomb!

1... 2... Saturn kicks out!

Benoit sits on his knees, his whole upper torso and arms are practically completely red from the blood now. He gets up and makes the slit-throat gesture again. He drags Saturn to his feet and gets up the second rope. He lifts Saturn up upside down. Tombstone of the second rope! Benoit gets up again. He goes to the outside and start crawling a corner of the Cell wall. When his head is against the roof, he manages to turn around to face the ring. He pushes himself off with his legs and flies at Saturn with a Swandive Headbutt! An incredible distance! It connects! The crowd starts their sixth “Holy Shit” chant. Benoit is down for a few seconds. He then shakes his head to get the cobwebs out and hooks the leg:

1... 2... 3!

Winner by pinfall: Chris Benoit

The crowd cheers louder than during any part of the match, and that’s very loud. Benoit sits on his knees and Earl Hebner raises his bloody right arm. The Crippler stumbles to his feet, holding on to the ropes with one hand and raising the other. Confetti drops from the rafters. Chris Benoit celebrates his victory by greeting the crowd on every turnbuckle. When he’s done that, he walks over to Saturn who’s slowly getting to his feet. They stand eye to eye. Benoit extends his hand. Saturn looks at it... and shakes it! Benoit pulls Saturn closer and hugs him. The fans go nuts! They raise each other’s arm and greet the crowd as the show goes off the air...

That was awesome man. Great details, I could imagine being there for this match at times. Thanks for a great read.

Its a shame both men's careers would be over after that match though

Yeah. It's quite unrealistic, but it was for a contest so I decided to go all-out.

thank you for the best fantasy wrestling read ever i loved the way you built up the little things like at the start they were both scared to be in this really dangerous match but they were to proud to admit it at first they used technical wrestling instead of brawling hoping the other one would follow their lead but then they fought aw fuck it im not gonna beat him with a hammerlock so they went full pelt at each otherthen when they got adreneline rushes and tried to put each other away my favourite part would have to be when they both became really sadistic and i could just feel all this character coming out of them somuch better than when ewr users just paste the boring play by play or when prowrestling.com just go for punch clotheslie other and other again so in conclusion :headbang: .

Thanks for the feedback. I might start a fantasy federation in here (not done with EWR but written myself) soon.
