Michinoku Pro Heartbreak

Looking at Lorefice's rating one would think this is a can't-miss tape for those interested in Michinoku Pro, but on some sites some of the matches are listed as being clipped. I'd like to know how much they are clipped, especially 12/9/96 so I can know if I should get them elsewhere in full or if the clipping is tolerable.

From Quebrada.net

9/23/96: Hamada & Delfin & Astro & Otsuka vs. Togo & Shiryu & Funaki & Collins ****1/4

11/12/96: Sasuke & Hamada & Delfin vs. Togo & Men's & Shiryu-super stretch run ****1/2

12/9/96: Sekigun vs. DX Elimination Match: Sasuke & Hamada & Delfin & Naniwa & Tiger Mask IV vs. Togo & Men's & TAKA & Shiryu & Funaki-Some of the eliminations come too quick, but other than that it's awesome. Naniwa is the man here. ****1/4

12/16/96: Sasuke & Hamada & Delfin & Naniwa & Yakushiji vs. Togo & Men's & TAKA & Shiryu & Funaki-there's about 500 people in the crowd, but these guys have an incredible match that's not as good as 10/10/96 but it's on that level and it's the best match these guys have done since 10/10. 25 minutes of one great spot after another with perfect execution. An incredible display of athleticism. *****

12/17/96: TAKA vs. Shinzaki-TAKA probably should have just packed it in since he was doing the job to the lazy stiff, but instead he caries Shinzaki to his best match in a long time.

12/20/96: TAKA vs. Delfin-TAKA's selling is phenomenal. First half is fine, but 2nd half, particularly the finishing sequence, is great. ****

Baisden reviewed the tape on RG awhile back, and from the sounds of his review, 9/10 of the stuff is left on the editing floor, although the KDX eight man tag is left in full.

Yeah the commercial release has a lot of the lesser matches clipped, but the matches worth getting the tapes for (ie:12/16/96) are left mostly full and are still worth getting if you can get it for around 10 bucks. I'd recommend These Days and Crisis in Lucha Paradise in addition to Heartbreak 96.

Very weird as I saw this thread after watching some of this tape yesterday. The tape IS worth getting although it is heavily clipped. There is a 10 man tag on there that was only clipped once....but it's a total MUST SEE, especially if you are a fan of Michinoku. Check it out....but I wouldn't pay more than 10 bucks for it....that's what I paid for it on highspots.

It's been a few months since I watched it, but I remember TAKA/Delfin being a pretty big snooze nest with lots of meandering mat sections that didn't go anywhere and the ending sequence didn't do much for me either. Their match from Skydiving J earlier in the year is way better.

Sasuke/Hamada/Delfin vs. Togo/Teioh/Shiryu is good, the elimination tag is really good, and the Ten man tag is probably the best match of the series. Those are the reasons to get it.

Thanks for the info. Since 12/9/96 was clipped I ended up going through on the custom comp from Lynch plan since I could get 12/9/96 in full. I also would have been paying $20.00 for it since I wanted a 1st gen through Q.net and don't want to deal with HSs again. The tapes go as follows...

Misc. Custom compilation #8

4/13/95 –Kobashi VS Kawada

7/9/96 – Misawa/Akiyama VS Kawada/Taue -This and the following match listed, as well as the Williams/Taue carny final and 3/2/96 Kawada/Taue VS Kobashi/Akiyama (both of which I just sent out an order to Fredo for) should close out my 1996 AJ wants.

11/29/96 – Misawa/Akiyama VS Kawada/Taue

5/2/99 –Vader VS Misawa -I know it's nothing appoaching great, but it was one of the first puroresu matches I ever saw. I also love watching Misawa take a Vader German suplex.

3/16/96 –Naniwa/Delphin/Michinoku VS TM IV/Sasuke/Shiryu

3/13/99 –Sasuke/Taka/Naniwa VS CIMA/SUWA/Fuji

I've seen 10/10/96 before, but wanted to upgrade PQ.

Misc. Custom compilation #9

10/10/96 -Taka/Shiryu/Funaki/Teoh /Togo VS Delphin/Naniwa/Hamada/TM IV/Yakushiji

12/9/96 -Togo/Teoh/Funaki/Taka/Shiryu VS Naniwa/Sasuke/Delphin/TM IV/Hamada

12/16/96 –Togo/TAKA/Shiryu/Funaki/Teioh VS Sasuke/Delphin/Naniwa/Hamada/Yakushiji

11/1/98 -SASUKE/Sasuke the Great/CIMA/SUWA/Fuji VS Delphin/Hamada/Naniwa/TM/Genjin

1/31/99 -Tokyo/Saito/D. Kid VS Fuji/Suwa/Cima
