Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted April 27, 2002 I can't be the only fan of this kick-ass cartoon from the mid-90's. Easily the best American-produced cartoon ever created that wasn't a joke in any which way. Rarely, if ever, were there dull moments, and almost no jokes (although Bronski's belching was humorous). Completely serious, and the best sci-fi cartoon I've ever, EVER seen. This needs a movie, and it needs one quick. There are sites online that have detailed descriptions of each episode, the most prominent being Resolute II (do a search on "ExoSquad," and click on the link that says "Welcome to the Resolute II," or something similar to that phrase). I actually did a 9-page paper comparing ExoSquad to World War II.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 27, 2002 I used to watch the show, but I don't have the detailed memories of it that you do. Easily the best American-produced cartoon ever created that wasn't a joke in any which way. Batman TAS was pretty damn good until it went to the WB and was combined with Superman. I don't know if the Simpsons would fit your criteria, but I think those two shows are two top notch American cartoons.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 27, 2002 Exosquad was one of the best cartoons to be on American tv!!!! Every episode would build up to the next episode continueing the story, this was a rare thing for cartoons on American tv, and the reason why I think it was the best ever. its up there with The Maxx, and the 2 Batman series and the Fox X-Men show. Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted April 29, 2002 I loved ExoSquad. I was pissed when they ended season 1 on a cliff hanger and then got cancelled.
Guest Vyce Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Exosquad was great....don't know if I'd call it the best (I am a pretty huge Batman:TAS fan), but it was exceptional. Now there is a series that is just screaming for a DVD release...
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 30, 2002 The show was on a while ago. I think it would be best to put it on cartoon network and get people interested in it again. Was there ever a finale for this show? I used to watch it from time to time because it came aired on Sundays and that was the only day that I could watch tv in the mornings. I think at some point, I just decided to sleep in instead of watching cartoons, and I stopped watching it.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Final episode: "Beyond Chaos" The ending was a cliffhanger for the possibility of linking the ExoSquad and RoboTech universes (which was actually an idea, at one point), but turned down due to lack of interest (the show was never in a permanent timeslot). I'd love to see either a full-season DVD release, or a live-action (OR animated) movie. If it's animated, make it the same animators that did the show, same voices, etc. Hell, they could pretty much just make it of the first 5 episodes and it'd be fucking killer. Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 1, 2002 Robotech and Exosquad in the same universe? That would of been sweet but how would Exosquad fit in the universe, would the SDF come to the rescue?
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted May 1, 2002 Dunno, but I think ExoSquad would have been worked in as a "prequel," of sorts, to RoboTech.
