Dark Age 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 You know....big DVD's are meant to be career retrospectives...thus making the fact that some matches are already on DVD irrelevant. The DVD's aren't made to please everyone who buys every DVD, they're made to show a good overview of a wrestler's career. A Rock DVD without Wrestlemania 17, his best match and the biggest drawing match in WWF history, is just wrong. Oh don't get me wrong, Ray, I understand that. The matches with Austin, Hogan, etc, they're fine. But can you honestly tell me that the matches with Brock and Goldberg REALLY added to Rock's career in terms of being really important matches? SOME pay per vew matches are fine, but a whole dvd of matches available elsewhere?
Guest thatdude21601 Report post Posted July 24, 2004 The first person who says "I want a Paul London DVD" is going to get a fucking slap. I want a Jamie Knoble DVD. Me too, but I would prefer the Tajiri 3 disc set.
Guest Champ Report post Posted July 25, 2004 Since the header says fantasy DVD, howsabout a DVD with the title of "What Were We Thinking?". It could bascially be a Wrestlecrap DVD of all the bad angles and characters of the last twenty years. You'll get such great moments as: ***Doink vs. Doink ***Undertaker vs. Underfaker ***Lots of Chyna and Lita promos etc etc etc.... you could throw the gimmick match from WMXVII in as well.... Throw in the whole Lex express tour and Lex Luger push on the DVD as well!

A Rock DVD without Wrestlemania 17, his best match and the biggest drawing match in WWF history, is just wrong. I'd like to see a Bret Hart DVD: vs. Dynamite Kid - WWF TV 9/14/85 w/Jim Neidhart vs. The British Bulldogs - Saturday Night's Main Event 5/87 vs. Randy Savage - Saturday Night's Main Event 11/28/87 w/Jim Neidhart vs. Demolition - Summerslam 1990 vs. Ric Flair - House show 10/12/92 vs. Shawn Michaels - Survivor Series 1992 vs. Mr Perfect - King of the Ring 1993 vs. Owen Hart - Wrestlemania 10 vs. Diesel - Survivor Series 1995 vs. Davey Boy Smith - IYH Five 1995 vs. Steve Austin - Survivor Series 1996 vs. Steve Austin - Wrestlemania 13 10 Man tag - Canadian Stampede 1997 vs. The Undertaker - Summerslam 1997 vs. Chris Benoit - Nitro 10/4/99 interestingly enough you left off Bret's two favorite matches of his career. Bulldog 1992 and the Ironman Match. My Bret Hart DVD DISC ONE Chapter One The Hart Foundation Hart Foundation Vs British Bulldogs-5/86 Hart Foundation Vs Brain Busters-Summer Slam 1989 Chapter Two The Best there is... Bret Hart Vs Mr. Perfect Summer Slam 1991 (has more history over The KOTR match) Bret Hart Vs Roddy Piper Wrestle Mania 8 Bret Hart Vs British Bulldog Summer Slam 1992 Bret Hart Vs Ric Flair-10/12/92 (the title change match) Bret Hart Vs Owen Hart-WMX (The Cage Match is already used) Bret Hart Vs Hakushi- Raw 1994 Bret Hart Vs Diesel-Survivor Series 1995 Disc Two Chapter One Shawn Michaels(A chapter devoted to their history) Bret Hart Vs HBK-Survivor Series 1992 Bret Hart Vs HBK-IronMan Match (since bret's so die hard for it, if he wants it this bad, i'll respect it) Bret Hart Vs HBK-Survivor Series 1997 (Might as well throw in a piece on Montreal with this section anyways) Disc Three The Hart Foundation Reunite Bret Hart Vs Steve Austin-Survivor Series 1996 Bret Hart Vs Steve Austin-WrestleMania 13 The Canadian Stampede 10 Man Tag Match Bret Hart Vs Undertaker-One Night Only (This chapter is loaded with H.F Vignettes and various stuff with Austin) Chapter Two The WCW Days Bret Hart Vs Ric Flair-Souled Out 1998 Bret Hart Vs Chris Benoit-Owen Tribute Match Bret Hart Vs Kevin Nash-Thunder 2000 (Bret's last match of career) I'd love to put the Dynamite match on there but it doesn't really fit into a designed chapter. Perhaps a Hidden Match would work?
Guest Ray Report post Posted July 25, 2004 interestingly enough you left off Bret's two favorite matches of his career. Bulldog 1992 and the Ironman Match. I honestly don't care how much Bret likes the Mania 12 iron man. It's long and dull and would be a GIANT waste of space. And he loses. And it's on Shawn's DVD. There's just no good reason to have it here. It would be a complete and total mistake to put that match on another DVD. Bulldog 1992 Their IYH 1995 match is better, and really deserves more attention. It's a truly underrated classic.
Guest tangerine Report post Posted July 25, 2004 While I agree with you on both fronts, I believe if the DVD is supposed to be a career retrospective, it should include the matches that for the most part defined him. That includes the Bulldog match. The Ironman? not so much the case. The 1995 Bulldog match was superb and very good, better then the 1992 match but the 1992 has a bigger aura. However, you can make the arguement since everyone and their mother has seen the 1992 match it's not neccesary but since We already know bret is really pushing for the Bulldog/Iron Man match, i put it on there. I guess my list was more rooted in what i would see BRET wanting to put on, not so much what i would be putting on their.
Guest Ray Report post Posted July 25, 2004 I wouldn't mind seeing Summerslam 1992 on the DVD. It does have a grand aura and it's a very important/well known match. And even though Bret loses, it's still essentially a "Bret Hart" match. One of his best performances. But the overall work in the IYH match is much better, and I prefer to see that match get more exposure.
