Danzig is, pretty much, an icon to old-school punks. Former frontman of The Misfits, former frontman of Samhain, and frontman of his self-titled project. Guy's a prick, but he's the only rock star left that people still think could probably kick their ass in a fight (despite the North Side Kings proving otherwise).

OK, well here goes...I was in the process of contacting Buh Buh Ray Dudley, Sabu, Konnan, Sean Waltman, and a few others through TNA, but it turns out that just this week, the person who was going to hook me up with those interviews left the company. So, those were the "big names" I was talking about, but unfortunately I guess they'll have to wait until TNA gets their PR department back together (because right now they don't have anyone in charge of it, as Brad Bernstein left in June and now this person is gone). I'll keep yalls posted.

XPW is so depressing. I used to watch it on TV sometimes back in 2000 but then stopped after the whole Heatwave 2000 debacle. They were so bush league, showing up at ECW's PPV and then getting their asses kicked.

XPW along with some of that ultra sick Japanaese death match stuff is the only wrestling I've ever watched and then felt dirty afterwards.

Hearing about these guys like Rizzono is sad. Some untalented indie bum trying to literally kill himself to make a few hundred bucks. XPW is full of these stories, like that dude Supreme as well. It's not worth paralyzing yourself, not for a fleeting moment or two of glory working for a porn producer in a 3rd rate shit fed.

Your posts of entire CZW DVDs needs to go down, NOW, at The Sledgehammer.

Ed,

What's your problem? Shits posted on PWTorrents, I download it, I share it, that's all there is to it...go to PWT if you have a problem with CZW shows being posted, they're the ones who enable anyone else to post CZW shows on SLH or anywhere else...ROH is suing PWT already, so if you're that against it, do something about it.

If he's the head of it (which I don't know that he is...I think the Usethesledgehammer name is a shot at how Triple H talks-uhh...thus the UH at the end), then he can PM me on SLH and I'll take them all down right away. Otherwise, I don't know what you're thinking threatening me about what I've posted on another board.

Sheldon Goldberg, the promoter of New England Championship Wrestling, has agreed to contribute. He was one of a select few people who was apart of the meetings in late '98/early '99 with Rob Black as they threw around ideas for a pro wrestling endeavor that eventually took shape in the form of XPW.

Never has a pro wrestling company sparked as much controversy as did XPW. This is your chance to learn why that company did what it did, and also to learn WHAT it did that you never knew about.

This retrospective is going to cover the history of XPW (Xtreme Pro Wrestling) much like the "Rise and Fall of ECW" DVD covered ECW, only in far, far greater depth. By the time the retrospective is completed, it will be the size of a small book.

I'm sure you're saying, "why do I care about XPW anyway?" Most of you probably know it best as either the company that helped spark a riot at ECW HeatWave 2000 or as the company that allegedly led to wrestler The Messiah's thumb being cut off in a real-life freak incident.

But there's so much more to XPW than that.

Rob Black and Paul Heyman were best friends at one point and planned on doing business together - they were going to market each other's products on their own DVDs (Heyman's ECW wrestling and Black's Extreme Associates' porn), but the relationship turned sour in the end and Black decided to start up his own company.

Did the company (XPW) ever turn a significant profit? No. But that didn't matter, because Black milked it all he could. In the end, he lost more than $3,000,000 on XPW.

But the stories that those associated with the company lived can never be bought.

Have you heard the saying in wrestling, "What happens on the road stays on the road?"

Well, in the heart of Los Angeles, in a world where porn stars crossed over to the wrestling business and wrestlers appeared in porn flicks, things happen that you just can't duplicate anywhere else.

• A coked up John Kronus roaming around the Holiday Inn in his boxers at 3 am, making a racket and knocking on random people's doors.

• Tammy Lynn Sytch having to be carried from the ring to the backstage area by the XPW ring crew because she had too much Nubain in her system.

• Sabu overdosing on pills, passing out, and having to be carried out of a Denny's restaurant by a bunch of XPW wrestlers and ring crew.

Do you think that’s interesting? Then just wait till you read the retrospective itself!

In his 2005 RF shoot interview, Axl Rotten said about his experience in XPW:

"You got out there in California and you're f*ckin' around with porn stars, you're doin' drugs. You drive down to Mexico and go to the pharmacy and pick up some somas. It was a vacation. There were porn stars and cocaine. You put one and two together."

During that last sentence, Axl used his hands to simulate the ingestion of cocaine and a cock being planted in an ass.

When the wrestlers went to LA, they had a good time. Why? Because even with many of them having experienced the party lifestyle of ECW, they never knew what to expect.

This trailer is just a PREVIEW of what you can expect. In 1993, a crude young director burst onto the pornography scene by the name of Rob Zicari. In 1996, he moved to California and took the name that would become infamous: ROB BLACK. This is Rob Black as you have never seen him before. Featuring tons of never-before-seen footage, including clips from ringside at an ECW event. PLUS: one of wrestling’s biggest superstars cuts a never-before-aired (at least to the IWC), classic promo on Rob Black! “XPW: Bleeding Was Only HALF the Job” is your chance to see the man BEHIND the controversy.

This retrospective will go month-by-month and era-by-era in covering the roots of XPW, Rob Black's negotiations with ECW, the formation of XPW, everything you could ever want to know about the company's run, its eventual folding, and what life after XPW is like for its former-wrestlers.

Learn the never-before-told story of the promotion that's wrapped up in more controversy than any other organization in pro wrestling history. Not only that - hear it straight from those who lived it.

“XPW: Bleeding Was Only HALF the Job” will feature articles, music videos, photo galleries, interviews, and more.

Within the next few weeks, the official “XPW: Bleeding Was Only HALF the Job” web site will be online for viewing at http://www.geocities.com/xpw5yearslater/xpwindex.htm , so set your bookmarks for that URL and when the site goes up, see XPW as you’ve never, EVER seen it before, straight from those who lived it! Featuring exclusive comments from:

Wow. Sheldon's a very old-school guy with a great mind for the business (first promotion to run 'Net-only broadcasts, has some of the finest young talent in the country as they learn PSYCHOLOGY over HIGHSPOTS), so him being affiliated with XPW in any way, shape, or form is a shock to me. Especially since NECW, for a couple years, was my favorite promotion.

Also, Barber, did you know NECW has cancelled some of their shows? Sheldon and "Brutal" Bob Evans have been having a shitload of arguments between themselves, and since Bob is the head trainer of SlamTech (which provides NECW with talent, for the most part) and helps with the booking, this is a bad sign. I don't want to see NECW go under, at least not without seeing them live one last time, and with the way I think it's headed that might not happen.

Hey Sledgehammer, whats wrong, you can't follow up with your threat, huh? I ask you on here what's the problem...no response. I PM you asking what's the problem...no response. Grow some balls next time and if you have a problem, make it known and don't back down like a sissy.

Ron Jeremy - the most famous male porn star of all-time - has been contacted with a request for an interview about his time with XPW. I very much doubt he will grant it, but anything's possible, and if he says no, can't say I didn't try.

Also, Kris Kloss' interview has been conducted and he had a lot to say about his XPW tenure (and he was one of a very select few people to last the company's entire run).

I contacted Kristi Myst but she declined a request for an XPW interview, so unfortunately she won't be contributing comments to the retrospective. Kristi is sorry that she won't be participating, but thanks everyone who was a fan of her XPW work.

A couple weeks ago, Rob & Lizzy's defeat of the federal government in court won first place for AVN's 2005 Reuben Sturman Award. Many people didn't like the decision and believed that Rob and Lizzy did not deserve the award, such as Mike South. On the other hand, Luke Ford, who has been one of Black's harshest critics in the past, is staying neutral. "I don't have a position on the Rob Black award and similar matters," Ford says. "I prefer to observe rather than advocate."

Black is a former winner of AVN's Best Video Director back in 1998. In early 2005, he and Lizzy beat the federal government in a major court case that changed the way that pornography is legally interpreted.

I had to do a film documentary on a social issue for my Literacies class. After doing a speech in Public Speaking on the issue a year ago, I did one that split its time between the Extreme Associates case, Deep Throat (to talk about the Miller test), and Lawrence vs. Texas (which allowed United States vs. EA to be dismissed).

I actually stole a few quotes from your trailer, and made up one or two of my own.

Too bad there is no more XPW TV or we coulda seen some crazy skits of Black gloating about his victory in court. NC would be proud.

So are there any good details on the case itself, I mean what caused the gov't to go after him in the first place (sorry I have no knowledge of the case)

Black challenged the government to come after him on PBS' Frontline. Since Black is the most mainstream producer of truly filthy porn (rape, incest, pedophilia themes, sperm + spit + urine + snot drinking, etc.), he was a natural choice to go after.

The case was dismissed a year or so ago because the Pittsburgh judge ruled that in the wake of Lawrence vs. Texas (Supreme Court ruled that the government couldn't make sodomy illegal), obscenity laws cannot stand because L vs. T (in his mind) set a precedent that the government has no business making laws based solely in moral code. Sadly the Justice Department recently started the appeal process.

Rob Black will be one of the main focuses of a new porn documentary called "Porn Shadows," which is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2006. I'll try to get more info on this if I can.

Also, best of luck to Kristi Myst as she broke some bones in her leg last week and had to get a bunch of surgery on it.

Also, many wrestlers - including some relatively big names - are still being contacted to contribute to the retrospective. The web site will also be up in a few weeks (I know I've been hyping it forever, but the dumbass who was supposed to do the layout and banner is taking his sweet time).

"Phenomenal" Phil Lander has agreed to contribute to the retrospective. Most of you probably don't know who Phil is. He was on many of XPW's early shows. Unfortunately, he didn't last long with the company because he and Rob didn't really get along (which is the reason most guys left the company), but Phil was one of the best light heavyweight workers not just in XPW, but on the entire So-Cal indy circuit. He was as good, IF NOT BETTER than Kaos, but unfortunately not too many of his matches have been released so not very many people have gotten to see the greatness that is Phenomenal Phil. The guy was super innovative with a lot of moonsault variations that were really swank.
