what about Critically Acclaimed horror movies?

I didn't know such things existed.

I'd say that 28 Days Later is a critically acclaimed horror movie.

I think H and K is pretty much done for out of the gate. It seems like once every 10 years or so I like a movie really well that seemingly makes zilch at the box office. In 1994 it was Ed Wood. I saw that movie two times at the theater and loved it. Absolutely NO ONE cared about that movie when it came out, it made like 2 million the first week.

 

Looks like Harold and Kumar is that movie for 2004. A movie that gets good/great reviews and those who do see it like it a lot, but it's just that no one is going to see it by those numbers.
