I read this on pwinsider, and I've met George on several occasions and he is a good guy. For those of you who don't know....he's doing a trip to Japan(that he's been doing for years) and here is the rundown if anyone is interested:

January, 1994...I remember it like it was yesterday. I boarded a plane in Toronto,  Ontario, Canada heading to Tokyo, Japan. Since this was my 1st trip to Tokyo, I didn't have any friends, didn't know my way around, and basically was frightened to death. The only show tickets I had were 8th row ringside seats for the 1/4 New Japan Tokyo Dome Show. 

 

January, 2005 ... I had planned on making my final trip to Tokyo. Several people got wind of this and asked if I'd do one last "Tokyo Tour".  After much thought, I've agreed. With that in mind, here are the details on the Mayfield Mayhem "Final Tokyo Tour"

 

Come January, 2005, We'll be joining several of my good friends (Tony Brown, Bill Pancoast, Buck Woodward and others) for our week of non-stop wrestling madness. We'll leave America on Sunday January 2nd, arriving in Tokyo on January 3rd. We'll spend 8 nights at the YMCA and return home on Tuesday January 11th. During that time, we'll be attending several wrestling shows. They include the 1/4 New Japan Dome Show and I just received confirmation that NOAH, which usually runs Budokan Hall on 1/10, is considering running the Dome instead. I'll be in contact with Steve Corino about Zero-One, and friends at All Japan, All Japan Women and A to Z about any shows they may run during this time period. If you've ever gone to my site and seen the photos, then you know I've met just about all the major stars, and you can too. Sound like something you might be interested in?

That would be an amazing trip to go on, really It doesnt looked over priced to me when you think about AirLine tickets, Hotel stuff and the amount of work it toook for the guy to put it togther

And you'd be wasting your money and time. How about actually DOING THE RESEARCH on how much it would cost before assuming you know?? His cost is $3300, all told. A plane ticket out of the U.S. runs you between $800-1200, depending on how far you book in advance and where you're coming from - a few hours of careful shopping around will get you a good deal. Staying at the Tokyo Green - an actual HOTEL near the Dome, rather than the fucking YMCA - runs you in the neighborhood of $65-80 per night. So that's $640 for the full 8 nights, at most. A good railway ticket's going to run you in the neighborhood of $100-120 for that long of a stay, and it lets you get around quite a bit and see things in Japan that aren't just wrestling-related -- after all, there's a Hell of a lot more to do there than watch wrestling, not to mention that you don't have to sit there with your thumb up your ass, surrounded by your fellow suckers, on the nights when there isn't a show. So transportation, a real hotel, and round-trip airfare runs you about $1900, and that's being liberal with the cost. Toss in another $300 for food and another $200-$400 for getting into shows, buying merch, and paying for things to do, and you're up to $24-2500, still a good $800+ short of his total. And you're not sleeping on a cot in the YMCA, you're not being led around by the nose by someone who's counting your money once you go to sleep, and you don't get looked at like a markish buffoon by all the wrestlers you get to 'meet'. Hell, you could take the extra money with you anyway and blow it on better seats, cooler swag, and great restaurants every night. And besides, if it's his last trip, you may as well go it on your own and learn the ropes sooner rather than later.

Or, you could go on the trip and avoid all the inconviences. Do you speak Japanese? I don't. I would much rather go with someone who I trust then try and do it all on my own. I've met George several times, and he is a decent enough guy. So thus, I would trust his judgement and his knowledge without thinking he's fucking me over on the trip. I am not going anyway.....as I can't afford it. Also, since when do you care what other people do with their money? I just thought, that it might be a decent idea and if someone would want to go to Japan and wouldn't because of the things I mentioned above....this would be an easier way.

Not necessarily. It would depend on what the other tours offered compared to his and how much they were. But I would rather spend an extra 1K if it meant I didn't have to worry about comunicating with all the people that don't speak any english. For me it would just make the trip easier and more fun(so that you can just worry about the shows your going to).
