Guest JerryDrake Report post Posted February 11, 2002 I was listeing to Pain Is Love today. And what got to me, was the track "Pain Is Love". I remenber the song from Above The Rim the movie(Which came out before the Pain is Love album), so thats cool maybes its a remake. BUT ITS NOT EVEN JA RULE FUCKING SINGING, ITS 2PAC. That stupid fucker, he DIDNT EVEN GIVE 2PAC CREDIT AT ALL! FUCK YOU JA RULE!
Guest Report post Posted February 11, 2002 Ja put an entire Pac song on his LP??????? Not even a cover or a sample????
Guest JerryDrake Report post Posted February 11, 2002 Either that or they both sound very close alike. It sounds so much like 2Pac. Even if it wasnt 2Pac, he never gave credit to him. The orignal verson is called "Pain" by 2Pac.

Well the truckloads of money and exposure on MTV to a large impulse buying crowd might be what he is going for, rather than "getting some" off her. But that wouldn't make good business sense at all so I'm probably wrong...
Guest Witty Banter Report post Posted February 13, 2002 You guys are a bunch of haters. You all would know you would do the same if you were in Ja Rules shoes so dont act like youre all better than him
Guest JerryDrake Report post Posted February 13, 2002 No if i was in Ja's shoes i would give 2PAC the credit for the song.
Guest super sayan jericho Report post Posted February 13, 2002 you're right I am a hater of Ja's music primarily because all he has been is a fake. First he tried going the DMX route, but X basically ripped him a new one. Now he's trying to sound like L.L. while keeping his totally lame "Party gangsta" image. IF anything the only reason why he's so popular is because he has good singers like Ashanti carrying his lameass to the pop charts.

I am a mc already and I would never sellout like that dumb motherfucker. If I ever sold out and I would never.....I would at least admit it and not pretend to be real like that peice of shit Ja. Ja was in Fast And Furius???? I bet he is a shit acter. That Holly Wood wannabe can come up to my neck of the wood and me and my boys would string him up with his wackass crew. Yo Jericho when did X rip him one?????? I don't like X but at least he is more real than that punk bitch Ja.
Guest super sayan jericho Report post Posted February 14, 2002 "Yo Jericho when did X rip him one???" In "Do You" X was primarily talking about Ja's blatent copying of his style. Coincidently, after that song hit Ja did change his style and image and decided to go into the L.L. route by primarily doing "love songs" while trying to maintain whatever is left of his gangsta image. Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted February 17, 2002 Ja Rule came out as a fake ass Tupac anyway, so him stealing his music shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, if it's true. Ja Rule's selling out was apparent the minute he signed with Def Jam. That's when he changed everything up. He went from hollering "it's murda" to singing songs called "I Cry." He is doing what Suge Knight labelled "pop rap." I don't even consider Ja Rule a rapper anymore because he disgusts me as an artist. I bet you the next album he makes is going to have him trying to be hard again. Then again, he could realize it's too late and just keep on pumping out the crappy pop rap that he has been making. For goodness sake, the guy is singing now! He's singing! WTF?!! Incidentally, you can lump Jay-Z into that same group as Ja-Rule. Jay-Z is stealing Biggie's lyrics constantly and has gone the pop route too. He just doesn't sing and has more lyrical talen than most of the rappers who are selling records. That shows the poor state of rap music in general. In 1995-96, I thought rap had nowhere to go but up. There were a lot of talented rappers putting out music. When Tupac and Biggie died, rap took a blow, but there was plenty of talent left to make me remain optimistic. While rap records have sold tremendously, it seems as though they are geared less towards making good music and geared more towards selling records. If you look at a record today, you will see a Neptunes beat, a Fabolous appearance and an appearance by any other rapper who seems to be hot at the time. This is the same thing you see in pop music. Brittany Spears, N' Sync and everyone else is trying to get the Neptunes to do the obligatory track for them.
Guest PsiWolverine Report post Posted February 17, 2002 Ja Rule is about as gay as it gets. He I guess he can now consider himself to be the hardest and shittiest sounding R&B singer out there, cause he ain't an MC.

Guest Xstasy Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Hey, I'm down with Ja Rule's music. Especially the Furious track... that song is phat than a mugg. I don't understand why everyone hates on Ja, when his style is more of a musical, gutteral song, rather than the hard knox speech that DMX gives. I've always been down with DMX, so whatever, but Ja is just going for his, and I dig his stuff. And its true that this era in hip hop is kinda, well, sucky. I'm digging some of the Nas vs. JayZ stuff, although Jigga ain't exactly my favorite MC, and I don't like the QB style of Nas too much either. Whatever, the conscious people are still holdin' it down: Common, Black Thought, Mos, Talib K, and then you've got some great stuff by Outkast and the whole DF crew. I'm diggin' Timbaland's crew (but I'm from DC, so I'm biased). Hip hop wanes and waxes, as do all styles and genres.
Guest arejay Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Granted, I'll give you he's definitely changed his style, but the thing is, he's going for the R&B/rap thing now. Go to any club and watch when they play his stuff. *All* the women get up and head to the dance floor. Females dig his shit, bottom line, and if anybody knows anything about the club scene, when the women get on the dance floor, the fellas come right after them. Is he a dominant rapper as far as mic skills, street rep, etc? No, but he's steadily putting out singles that are hitting on Billboard, making the women snap their fingers, and most importantly to him, putting dollars in his pocket. Guest KOR420 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 First, the only reason that CD is any good is because of that song with Pac I did'nt buy it but I like that song and I put it on a cd but as far as Ja Rule goes I've seen better rappers on a candy bar
