Super J Cup Semi Final

Minoru Tanaka v Low-Ki

Tanaka and Low-Ki tie up. Low Ki goes into a waistlock but Tanaka INSTANTLY locks Low Ki into a Fujiwara Armbar and Low Ki goes to the ropes. He looks worried. He runs at Tanaka but Tanaka hits a dropkick and then goes uses an arm drag and then an arm wrench. Low Ki gets to his feet and rolls out of the arm wrench and then uses a snapmare and then a headscissors. Tanaka gets to the ropes and now he is the man who is scared. Tanaka goes onto the apron but Low Ki hits a Springboard Dropkick to knock him off. Low Ki then goes to the top rope. HUGE Plancha onto Tanaka. He is celebrating when Tanaka Powerbombs him on the floor ! Tanaka goes in the ring. The referee is about to reach the ten count when Low Ki gets in the ring.

Tanaka hits a Jumping Shoulder Stunner and then a Shoulder Breaker. Tanaka goes for a Cross Armbreaker but Low Ki gets the ropes quickly. Tanaka then throws Low Ki to the ropes but Low Ki comes back with a Sunset Flip for a nearfall. Low Ki then goes to the ropes but gets kicked coming back. HUGE Brainbuster ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Tanaka then throws Low Ki shoulder first into the ringpost. Tanaka then stands on the arm of Low Ki ! The referee tells Tanaka to break it. He then uses a Tiger Driver ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Samurai then goes up top. Low Ki meets him there. SUPER BRAINBUSTER ! Both men are down. Low Ki then gets up and goes up top. SHOOTING STAR PRESS ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Low Ki is raging.

Low Ki then goes for a Double Underhook Piledriver but Tanaka escapes. GORY SPECIAL !!! Low Ki is in major trouble when Tanaka decides to drop Low Ki on his head in this position ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Tanaka then goes up top but Low Ki gets a top rope Arm Drag. CROSS ARMBREAKER ! Tanaka gets to the ropes after a long struggle. KI KRUSHER ! WOW ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Low Ki looks shocked. Low Ki then goes for a low kick but Tanaka grabs the leg. BACKFLIP ENZIGURI ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! He is annoyed he throws Tanaka to the outside. He misses a Plancha. CROSS ARMBREAKER ! Tanaka doesnt let go. Both men are counted out !

Stuart Dominick announces, with much regret, that this now means that an ECW star WILL win the Super J Cup. The next match will be the Super J Cup Final.

 

Chris Benoit gets to the arena with paper of some sort and then is stopped by security and he shows them the paper and security let him through.

 

Sabu has seen this on his monitor and smashes it against the wall of the room and then leaves the room looking for Benoit.

 

Match 2

Super J Cup Final 2002

Jushin Thunder Lyger v Naomichi Marufuji

This does not take long to get good. Lyger insantly hits a running Shotei ! Lyger then runs to the ropes and goes for a Shotei but Marufuji ducks and hits a Release German Suplex. WOW ! Lyger is thrown onto the ramp. Marufuji goes for the Endless Powerbomb but Lyger counters with a Rana on the ramp. Lyger throws Marufuji to the ropes and hits a Powerslam on the ramp ! Lyger goes back in the ring. Marufuji gets onto his feet on the ramp. He enters the ring. Lyger puts Marufuji into a wristlock but he counters with a cartwheel and an arm drag into an arm wrench and then Lyger counters this the same way to a HUGE pop. Lyger then drops Marufuji on the top rope, throat first. Lyger then goes for a Running Lyger Bomb but Marufuji counters in mid run with a Hurricanrana and then drops a knee on the throat of Lyger.

He then runs at Lyger but Lyger dropkicks the knee and goes into a Single Leg Crab and the fans pop. Marufuji is struggling and gets to the ropes eventually. Lyger throws Marufuji to the outside. He then whips Marufuji into the guardrail. Lyger goes onto the apron but Marufuji goes onto the guardrail and dropkicks him off ! WOW ! Marufuji goes into the ring and goes out with a Running Pescado ! Marufuji goes in the ring and Lyger is on the apron. Lyger suplexes Marufuji over the top and onto the floor ! WHOA ! Bump. Marufuji is injured and Lyger notices this. Lyger lariats the legs. Lyger then drops the elbow on the knee of Marufuji twice ! Lyger seems to be pleased with himself.

Lyger puts Marufuji on top and goes for a German Suplex off of the top but Marufuji lands on his feet. RUNNING DROPKICK TO THE STOMACH ! Marufuji is still injured though. Lyger then locks in a Figure Four Leglock to a HUGE pop. Lyger then hits an Aztecan Suplex ! WHOA ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Lyger goes for a Shotei but Marufuji ducks and INSTANTLY turns around and gets a Sunset Flip. ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! WOW. Marufuji goes for a Hurricanrana but Lyger hits a Lyger Bomb. ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Lyger is pissed off. FISHERMAN'S BUSTER ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! The fans pop for this and the heat is building. Lyger sets Marufuji up on the top rope. FISHERMAN'S BUSTER FROM THE TOP ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! WOW !

Lyger is getting cocky but Marufuji comes back with a low blow and the fans LOVE it. ENDLESS POWERBOMB ! THE FANS ROAR ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Marufuji goes for another but Lyger drops behind. SHOTEI ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Lyger then sits Marufuji on the top rope and then hits a Springboard Dropkick. Lyger then goes for a Lyger Bomb from the top but Marufuji counters with a Rana in mid air ! WOW ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! WOW ! Lyger then out of nowhere Powerbombs Marufuji. SHARPSHOOTER ! Marufuji gets to the ropes with a HUGE pop. He goes for it again. INSIDE CRADLE ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Whew. Marufuji then gets Lyger. ENDLESS POWERBOMB ! He goes up top. SHOOTING STAR PRESS ! ONE ! TWO ! NOOOOOO ! He goes for a moonsault but Lyger stops him. SUPER LYGER BOMB ! ONE ! TWO ! THREE !

Match Comments : Does wrestling get any better. Lyger was expected to win and he did.

 

Minoru Tanaka comes out and challenges Lyger to a match later in the show. Tanaka tells Lyger to put the Super J Cup on the line for the CZW Lightweight Title. Lyger also agrees to this.

 

We are then told that a 'Tag Champs Collide Match' is next between Hayabusa v Masato Tanaka.

 

Match 3

Masato Tanaka v Hayabusa

Tanaka and Hayabusa shake hands. Tanaka instantly hits a dropkick to the knee. He sends Hayabusa onto the apron. He then hits his trademark clothesline to the outside. He throws Hayabusa back in. Figure 4 Leglock is applied and Hayabusa struggles but gets to the ropes. Tanaka then goes into a Bow and Arrow Chinlock ! He lets go and goes onto the apron and Springboards in but is caught with a Powerslam coming in ! He goes for the Roaring Elbow but Hayabusa ducks and snaps off a Rana. ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Hayabusa breaks the neck of Tanaka with a Release German Suplex. OUCH ! Tanaka no sells and hits a Lariat and then sells the Suplex. Tanaka then hits an Acid Drop but with the ending result being a Stunner and not a Cutter. ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! TORNADO DDT BY TANAKA ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT !

Tanaka goes up top but Hayabusa brings him down with a Super Belly 2 Belly ! Hayabusa throws Tanaka out and goes out with a Tope Con Hilo ! WOW ! Hayabusa throws Tanaka into the ring. SLINGSHOT LEGDROP ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! FISHERMAN'S BUSTER ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! TIGER DRIVER. ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Hayabusa goes up top and hits a Diving Twisting Senton ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! He is getting annoyed. MICHINOKU DRIVER ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! WOW ! Hayabusa goes up top. Tanaka meets him there. SUPERPLEX ! Tanaka goes for the Thunder Fire Powerbomb but Hayabusa rolls out. ROARING ELBOW ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! THUNDER FIRE POWERBOMB ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT !

Tanaka runs into a High Kick. HAYABUSA WITH A THUNDER FIRE POWERBOMB ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Hayabusa goes up for a Moonsault. Tanaka climbs with him. REVERSE BRAINBUSTER OFF THE TOP ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Tanaka goes to finish him off. DEATH VALLEY BOMB ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Tanaka goes for the Roaring Elbow but Hayabusa tries to snap off a rana. POWERBOMB ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! Tanaka gets away from a Death Valley Bomb. He then hits a Release Dragon Suplex. FALCON ARROW ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! WOW ! Tanaka gets up. ROARING ELBOW ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! HAYABUSA HITS A SHOTEI ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! FALCON ARROW ! ONE ! TWO ! THREE !

After the match, Tanaka and Hayabusa shake hands and go to the back.

 

Chris Benoit goes to the ring and says that he is entitled to one more match in CZW and he DEMANDS a match with Sabu AFTER Lyger v Tanaka. Stuart Dominick comes onto the ramp and says that it will be Chris Benoit v Sabu in a Last Man Standing match and after that, Chris Benoit is gone from CZW. Benoit goes backstage but Sabu catches him on the ramp and a brawl ensues. Security has to split them up.

 

Match 4

CZW Lightweight Title v Super J Cup

Minoru Tanaka v Jushin Thunder Lyger

Lyger blocks an early Cross Armbreaker. Lyger runs to the ropes and goes for a Shotei but Tanaka goes for another Cross Armbreaker ! Lyger frantically gets to the ropes. Tanaka begins to throw kicks at Lyger. Lyger dropkicks a leg away from Tanaka. Lyger puts in a Figure 4 Leglock. Tanaka is in the move for a long time before he gets to the ropes. He then whips Tanaka into the corner but runs into a Superkick. He then stands on the arm of Lyger. Tanaka hits a Missile Dropkick. Tanaka goes for the Irish Whip but Lyger stops, turns, and hits a Shotei ! He then hits a High Angle Powerbomb for a nearfall. Lyger goes to the top rope and hits a Flying Body Press for two.

He goes for another shotei and gets caught with a High Kick by Tanaka. Tanaka then locks in the Cross Armbreaker ! Lyger makes a DESPERATE struggle but gets to the ropes. Tanaka then goes into the Cross Armbreaker ! Lyger desperately goes for the ropes as the fans chant his name. Lyger gets to the ropes to a HUGE pop. Tanaka goes to the top rope and Lyger meets him up there. Lyger hits some headbutts. Lyger gets knocked down and is hit with a Missile Dropkick to the back. Lyger is able to break a Full Nelson and throw some slaps. He then goes for a Running Shotei but Tanaka ducks and gets a Backslide for a two count. Tanaka hits a Savate Kick on Lyger and he goes for the cover. ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT !

Tanaka puts Lyger in the Minoru Special ! Lyger is frantic in his attempts to reach the ropes. HE GETS THERE ! Tanaka goes to kick Lyger but he catches a leg. DRAGON SCREW ! He then hits a Rolling Koppou Kick ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! He then hits a HUGE Liger Bomb. ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! He then goes for a Shotei but Tanaka ducks and hits a stiff punch. Lyger takes it and delivers a STIFF Short Range Shotei. ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! BRAINBUSTER BY LYGER ! ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! He goes for a wakigatame. MINORU SPECIAL ! HE GETS IT ! LYGER FINDS THE ROPES ! Lyger then gets a Shotei out of nowhere. ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! FISHERMAN BUSTER. ONE ! TWO ! KICKOUT ! ANOTHER BRAINBUSTER ! ONE ! TWO ! THREE !

Match Comments : This was shocking. Tanaka has lost his belt to an ECW wrestler.

 

Tanaka gets up and locks Lyger in the Minoru Special and Lyger cant do anything. Officials try to break it but Tanaka holds it on. He eventually lets it go. Stuart Dominick stands at the top of the ramp in shock.

 

Match 5

Last Man Standing

Chris Benoit v Sabu

They go straight into a fist fight. Benoit then gets caught with a rana. Sabu sends Benoit out and follows with a Suicide Dive. Sabu then hits Benoit with a chair and crotches him on the guardrail. SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULT ! Sabu's chin hits the guardrail. Benoit catches Sabu with a Drop Toe Hold into the guardrail. OUCH ! Benoit then Powerbombs Sabu into a row of chairs ! Benoit suplexes Sabu back first into the railing and then stands on the guardrail and hits a Guillotine Legdrop. He then bridges the guardrail and the ring with a table. He puts Sabu on the table and goes to the top rope. HE MISSES A DIVING HEADBUTT ! Both men are down. Sabu gets up at six and Benoit just gets up at nine.

Sabu throws Benoit in the ring with a chair. He goes in the ring and hits two chairshots to take Benoit down. He goes to the top rope with a chair. ARABIAN FACEBUSTER ! Benoit is out. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Benoit is up. Sabu then sets up a table in the ring. He puts Benoit on it. TRIPLE JUMP MOONSAULT THROUGH THE TABLE ! Both men are down. Benoit answers the eight count and sticks his finger up at Sabu. Sabu then runs at Benoit who catches Sabu in the Crippler ! Sabu is trying to escape but Benoit has it in for a VERY long time before he breaks it. Sabu is down. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Benoit then drills Sabu with a Piledriver and Sabu AGAIN answers the count.

Benoit hits a BRUTAL German Suplex and puts a chair on the face of Sabu. FLYING HEADBUTT ! Both men are down but Benoit gets up at seven and Sabu gets up at nine. Benoit is pissed and throws Sabu onto the ramp. He goes out and he then Powerbombs Sabu off of the ramp ! OH NO ! Sabu is out again. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. SABU IS UP ! Benoit goes into the crowd and Sabu strikes Benoit with a chair and sets up a table. He puts Benoit on the table. He goes onto the ramp. HE MISSES THE MOONSAULT AND CRASHES THROUGH THE TABLE ! One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. BOTH MEN ARE UP. They fight their way to the ring. Benoit sets Sabu up on the top rope. SUPER DRAGON SUPLEX !!!! One. Two. Three. FOur. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. TEN !

Match Rating : BRUTAL ! What a wat between these two men. That was outstanding.

 

Sabu is still down and Taz clotheslines Benoit and goes in to help Sabu. TAZMISSION ! Sabu is out. Sabu is taken away in a stretcher.

 

Main Event

Steel Cage Match

Number One Contender for the CZW World Title

Triple H v Jeff Jarrett

HHH and Jarrett have a fist fight. HHH gets the better and tries to throw Jarrett into the steel but HHH blocks with his foot and tries himself but Jarrett gets a low blow and a Russian Legsweep and then runs to the ropes but gets caught with a Jumping Knee Strike and then a DDT. HHH goes to the door but Jarrett mounts him with a Sleeper. HHH falls back and Jarrett is down and HHH goes for the door again but JJ kicks the knee and HHH is down. Jarrett drops elbows on the knee and then uses a Spinning Toe Hold on HHH. Triple H is struggling. Jarrett lets go and climbs the cage but HHH goes up with him and gets his head in between the legs of Jarrett and falls back. OUCH !

Triple H then strikes Jarrett's knee with a chop block. He then uses an Inverted Bridge Muta Lock ! WOW ! He releases and throws Jarrett into the cage and Jarrett is busted open. HHH then slingshots Jarrett into the cage ! OUCH ! HHH then puts on a Standing Anklelock ! Jarrett is struggling. HHH then lets go and climbs the cage but Jarrett goes to the top rope and clotheslines HHH and HHH is crotched on the top rope. JJ then climbs to the top rope but HHH is there with him. HHH hits the head of Jarrett on the cage a few times and Jarrett falls. HHH goes for a Knee Drop but Jarrett moves. OUCH ! FIGURE 4 LEG LOCK ! Triple H is fighting like crazy but cannot tap out because of the rules. Jarrett lets go when HHH is out and then picks up HHH and goes for the stroke. HHH REVERSES IN TO A RUSSIAN LEGSWEEP ! WOW !

Both men are down. HHH then gets up and puts in a Figure 4 of his own. Shawn Micheles comes down and climbs to the top of the cage. FLYING ELBOW DROP ! IT HIT JARRETT ! HHH then goes to climb the cage but Micheles pulls HHH down. SWEET CHIN MUSIC ! HBK leaves the cage. Why ? Both men are down. Jarrett begins to crawl for the door but HHH pulls Jarrett back in. Knee to Face ! JJ GETS THE STROKE ! Both men are down but Jarrett begins to climb the cage but HHH climbs with him JJ is over the top but HHH catches him. HHH SUPERPLEXES JARRETT BACK IN ! Both men are down again. HHH gets up before Jarrett. PEDIGREE ! Triple H climbs the cage. He is over the top. HE WINS !

Match Comments : Good solid match with the right man winning but that now means Micheles v HHH !!!!!!!

 

Triple H goes to the top of the cage and celebrates and HBK and HHH have a staredown to end the show.

Great show from top to bottom as you have brawling, and two great matches from Lyger including one of the best matches ever between him and Marufugi. Good show but I thought that the main event was kinda  weak compared to the undercard.

This was great.  Can't wait to read Michaels/HHH.  You had all good workers on the show so that made all the matches great.  I enjoyed Beniot/Sabu the most, but the rest were right up there.  Great matches all around.
