anyone ever try Buffalo Burgers?

I'm usually pretty brave about trying new foods, but I've never worked up the nerve to try a buffalo burger, though for some reason buffalos kinda look as if they would be a tasty meat. Has anyone ever tried one and if so, how was it?

Does such a thing actually exist?  I've heard of buffalo burgers that are just regular burgers with buffalo wing sauce on them, but...I had no idea that buffalo meat was still eaten.  But I was a little skeptical about Kurt Angle's ostrich jerkey at first, too.  I've since made it a point to never let anything surprise me.

Maybe it is just a regular burger with buffalo wing sauce on it. But I was at a burger place today, and the "Buffalo Burger: $4.50" sign had a little picture of some guy riding a buffalo next to it, which makes it seem that it actually is buffalo meat.

Such things do exist, and I have tried them.  They actually are pretty damn tasty, I'd give em a whirl if I was you.  I couldn't tell it wasn't a regular hamburger.

Ted Turner owns a bunch of Bison (Buffalo) in Montana and is trying to market this idea of Buffalo Burgers. Hes opened up the first of what he hopes to be a chain of restaurants called Ted's Montana Grill.

 

Technically Buffalo are really Bison, there is no such thing as Buffalo in the wild in North America.

As far as the taste, I really can't comment since I've never had any bison meat before.  I've heard that you can't taste the difference, although some people who are trained food tasters say that there is a distinct difference.

There used to be a little place out in West Texas near Colorado City that had buffalo burgers.  Not bad, a little different from regular beef.

 

Of course, there are so many ways to go with this.  By Buffalo Burgers do you mean buffalo meat burgers, hamburgers with buffalo wing sauce, or an actual francise named Buffalo Burgers?

I have had buffalo meat...good, good stuff.  Tates is similar to beef, but it has a much leaner texture.

 

If you get the chance though, skip the buffalo, and try some emu.  That shit rocks the casbah!

We have all kinds of Buffalo farms in Canada.  I have never actually tried the meat, although I do hear that it is better than beef.
