Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Booker T is preparing for his life after wrestling, sucka. The five-time WCW Champion recently opened a retail outlet in his native Houston. Jam Zone, located at 12313 Bellaire Blvd., sells music, video games and hip-hop gear. "It was something I wanted to do," Booker told WWF.com. "I've got a lot of investments, but nothing I'm hands-on with." Until now. Booker says he's anything but the figurehead owner of the new store. "I work at the store every day that I'm not on the road," he said. He plans to open two more stores in the near future. Fans often stop by Jam Zone to get autographs and take pictures, Booker said. But he doesn't expect to draw clientele just because of his celebrity. He said customer service is the forte of Jam Zone. If they don't have the product you're looking for, they'll order it immediately, and you won't have to pay for shipping. "It's about giving back to the community too," he said. "It's located in the community. And we're going to hire some kids from the community to work at the store." wwf.com

Guest converge241 Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Jam Zone is a retarded name. certainly not any more than "the smarkboard" . imagine if someone heard that name and didnt know what it was. At least Sucka is not the store name.
Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Oh my God... He goes on about helping and returning something to the community, and all you do is slag the name? Truly a smark... lol

Guest Ripper Report post Posted April 29, 2002 "Oh my God... He goes on about helping and returning something to the community, and all you do is slag the name?" Come on now. What is more important, Booker opening a store that will provide jobs for the youth in his community or the Name of the store.....the name of the store of course. You have messed up priorities dude. ???
Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Sorry, Ripper dude. Obviously I'm in the wrong place.
Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Of course its good hes giving back to the communtiy. I didnt mention it because thats obvious. They shouldve mentioned more about it though. All they said was it was going to provide jobs...thats great, but so do all businesses.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Ain't that sweet. At least he's accepted he's not going anywhere in the wwf. Look for DDP's Frozen yoghurt chain to open next door.

Yeah, because only wrestlers whose careers are over buy stores... how many gyms do Flair and Hogan own again? I don't see why Booker actually investing for the future instead of being some broke bastard in ten years is a bad thing. Perhaps you'd like to enlighten the class? Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Maybe he can hook Stevie Ray up with a job.
Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 No way, Stevie Ray is going to take his rightful place in the WWF broadcasting booth next to those froot booties Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman!
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 29, 2002 If so I wonder if he can keep all the Yaks in check that are on the WWF roster.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 30, 2002 I've been hoping that Stevie Ray could get a commentary job, but I don't think they would spend the money to bring him in just for his commentary. His commentary was pretty damn good in my opinion, but I don't know if they are willing to bring him in since they are hell bent on using the people that they've already got. One drawback I can see is the fact that he's Booker's brother and I don't think having them involved together would be a good idea. They have already tried to pass Booker off as being dumb, I don't know if fans will accept his brother as a commentator because of the stigma that might come along with him. They could put him on Smackdown to keep him away from Booker, but I think passing booker off as a dummy isn't good for his borther's chances at credibilty as an announcer. I would still love to see him get the job though, even if other people on the WWF roster would probably like the chance to get the job.
Guest Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Stevie Ray would rule on commentary or in some sort of "interview" segment. Oh, how I long to hear "Cracker-Jack-Fruit-Booty" at least one more time before I die!!

Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted May 1, 2002 I hope all goes well for the Booker man. It's a shame a guy with his talent and charisma isn't going anywhere in the WWF. It's nice to know he's thinking about the long term. If I lived remotely near his store I'd go check it out and congradulate the Book.....
