This was something I wrote on the disturbing cinema thread. I wanted to start a topic about this guy so Im reposting it with a couple little changes.

I saw Kids before and recently Bully. What is with that asshole Larry Clarke and teenagers? Especially the way he does his films about them. Always gratuitous crap. There was one scene where they show Rachel Miner getting out of her bed naked, taking a crap and wiping herself. What the fuck was with that? Not that I didnt mind seeing her naked but that a needless scene.

If you've never seen this movie...don't. It's sick. It was disturbing in the way that people actually gave it good writeups. The moral at the end was so cliche and bland. He could've did it without all the garbage he put in, but no, he has to be Larry Clarke and shock everyone. Fucking idiot. He seems to like to base the bullshit movies he makes true stories. So people won't call him out on his sick, closet-pedaphile bullshit.

Gummo is another movie that Lenny Clark did with the usual shock treatment.  But this one has a questionable cast call....after watching day time talk shows, Lenny thought it would be a good idea to give a role to a guest from the Sally Jessie Ralphael show, after viewing one of those "My wild child" shows.

Then there is the $12 retard fat whore.

I liked Kids and Bully. Of course, I partially like them cuz I like to watch the stupidity of the characters in his films. The sexual stuff doesn't bother me.

those wild child talk shows are endlessly entertaining to me. everybody on them, the kids, their parents, the host, the audience, and whoever they eventually bring out to whip the kids into shape, acts insanely stupid, and its fun to watch.

I look at larry clarks films the same way

'Gummo' was directed by Harmony Korine wasn't it? I think he wrote the script for 'Kids' so maybe they just swapped roles or something. Anyways, i agree with what Ghast originally said about Clark, his films come across as shallow and patronising to me.
