Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 http://www.altwrestling.net/news/startups.html Also heres a quote I was wondering if anyone could shed more light on They plan to air the first shows some time this year and possibly as soon as the next two months. It should also be noted that Vince McMahon once considered using this same strategy of hold pay per views weekly or bi-weekly but was talked out of it, and he launched the ill-fated "Shotgun Saturday Night" project instead. So would he have gotten rid of Raw and all the regular pay-per-views? Thats a pretty wierd idea. And how was Shotgun anything like a weekly ppv?
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted April 30, 2002 I think at one point Vince kicked around teh idea of doing weekly PPVs in order to compete with the then dominant WCW in 1996/early 97. He decided, rightly so that it would bomb, no one was buying his monthly PPVs, so why would they buy one every week? Jarrett's promotion will fail, the only reason I'd watch it is because my friend has a black box.
