Guest Report post Posted April 30, 2002 That whole setup with Regal talking about Hulkamania with Rock N Wrestling playing on TV and all the Hogan crap on the desk was funny as hell. And him ranting about it made it even 10 times better... Anyone else find it as funny?
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted April 30, 2002 "Running around like a fifty-pence tart in your feather boa's." Heh... and the Hogan cartoon, that was hilarious.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted April 30, 2002 I found it funny in an odd way. Because he's right. It IS sad that people are that into a guy who is doing the same routine for the last 2 decades. And the return of a cartoon character as world champ.
Guest raptor Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Regal is a god. His promos are never lacking, and I seem to be one of the only people who enjoys his matches. Maybe I'm just waiting for the return of the TV champ who always stole a time limit draw from the uberfaces.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 30, 2002 While you guys might like him, Regal doesn't get any heat. That's the plain truth. Maybe he goes over the heads of most fans or whatever, but he doesn't draw heat. On an unrelated note, I like his old music better.

Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 30, 2002 He's not supposed to be a supervillain though. The guy tries to pass himself off as a gentleman. Why would he come out to supervillain music?
Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Im a mark for Hogan and I was laughing my ass off. Regal should have his own segment to rant on every Raw. I own that episode of Hulk Hogan's Rock N Wrestling and treasure it because it is the cheesiest thing I have. When he put on the hat, I was dying.
Guest MixxMaster Report post Posted April 30, 2002 That promo was so damn true, it was SCARY, I tell ya!!! We need more slams on The Old Orange Goblin!!!
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 30, 2002 He slams himself without trying. I don't have as big a problem with someone who is shitty being passed off as someone to be booed as I do someone who is shitty being passed off as someone to be cheered. Hogan looks like an old dickhead trying to be cool, which is great for a heel, but not someone who is supposed to be cheered (unless it's the 80's).
Guest Report post Posted April 30, 2002 I think the phrase everyone is looking for is "shoot comments that aren't supposed to be shoot comments."
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 30, 2002 How about just calling it being brutally honest?? Regal wasn't making shit up, but he did hold back. He should have talked about Hogan sucking in his stomach and hobbling around like he has a rock in his shoe. He could have talked about the fact that Hogan is clueless about being cool so he has to copy other people and hope the fans think he is cool. He could have played a video of Hogan drinking beers with Austin and doing the Austin salute, or shown a video of Ventura wearing boas and running for Governor then shown videos of Hogan wearing boas and talking about running for President. If Hogan starts spitting water, I don't know what I will do. I hope spitting the tea wasn't a sign of things to come.
Guest Report post Posted April 30, 2002 I can't believe Regal didn't win the title!!!!!!! Wait a minute, it was a non-title match. But we all thought Regal had a good chance, right? Yeah, sure. Incredibly lame main event was definitely saved by Regal's funny promo (yes I agree) and the ending was pretty good too with Undertaker beating Hogan like a government mule.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 30, 2002 I figured the NWO match would be the main event until it ended up happening at 10 o'clock. I was thinking, "Oh shit! they used the main event early! They have a big surprise or something at the end!" That's because I forgot about Hogan's match until Undertaker came out and almost put me to sleep with his promo. How the hell do you have a money feud where the promos and matches both suck? Neither guy cuts good promos or can work anymore.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted April 30, 2002 By current WWF logic, if the match happened over a decade ago (even if it didn't draw then) it has to draw now! Could you smell the anticipation as people watched the collective wrinkle gather in the ring for the big stair-down? I was getting shivers, I tell ya. Regal's promo was gold. He's been feeling it on the promo's lately. I thought last weeks's segment where he slammed Stasiak for rambling about a fictional planet like a tart was humorous too. To me, this guy has become the perfect manager, since he has great charisma, great promos, and knows how to bump. Pair him with Angle and watch the sparks fly. Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Regal and Angle could be great. I'd also like to see Regal resume his relationship with Tajiri, now that he has turned.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Regal has been awesome the past couple of weeks.. the only err on his part was that abortion line.. a little touchy subject for the mass population.. btw, what was up with Bradshaw and the priests/celibate thing.. did anybody hear the crowd booing? as Farooq might say................damn!
Guest Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Yeah, that was absolutely hilarious. "Can you believe, people actually buy this crap?" The best way to be a villain is to tell the truth. Speaking of which, I was cracking up at Bradshaw's "priest" line...but I have a strange sense of humor. "I'm sure they'll listen to Reason."
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Since Regal is my favourite WWF wrestler I found the promo to be so fucking hilarious. Regal Is God
Guest Report post Posted April 30, 2002 "Whatcha gonna see, when the Power of the Punch runs wild on thee?" Man, I loved that line.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 1, 2002 I think Regal's problem with getting over with the crowd is a lack of high impact stuff. We have become used to seeing people flying around and hitting the mat to make the simplest moves seem like something big. Regal uses holds and that stuff. There are people who appreciate that, just like there are people who appreciate shootfighting, but that style doesn't neccessarily grab everyone's attention.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted May 1, 2002 i agree. Regal needs to add some more moves to his repitore that will get the crowd into the match.
Guest Jericholic82 Report post Posted May 1, 2002 "Whatcha gonna see, when the Power of the Punch™ runs wild on thee?" Man, I loved that line. I agree. I think they should make a t-shirt with that line for Regal.. I bet it would sell well with the smarks. and if anyone is going to a wwf tv show soon, make a sign with that line for us. I would laugh if I saw that on TV
Guest the 1inch punch Report post Posted May 1, 2002 So let him use the Besmircher, you know, the twisty neckbreaker, it looks cool and finishes easy
Guest Report post Posted May 1, 2002 That promo was absolute greatness. They should give Regal a talk show every week and he should just tear into people. He could have Debra on and just insult the hell out of her and she could sit there like a ditz, flipping her hair back and forth while saying, "Haha, you're funny." "Shut up you buxom wench, why don't you go to a street corner and act like the 50 cent tart that you are." Regal rules.
Guest spliffstar Report post Posted May 1, 2002 I haven't been watching a lot of WWF programming lately, but Regal's one of may favorites. Can anyone tell me what was his abortion line, mentioned earlier in this thread?
