Pro Wrestling WORLD-1's future

Recommended Posts

There has been a lot of speculation over the last few months when or even if Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1 will be running live events again.

WORLD-1's original plan was to run monthly three show tours in different states but after the second tour WORLD-1 went into a re-organization to say the least.

After disappointing attendence at two of the three shows Steve Corino decided to sell the WORLD-1 assets (W-1 Banners, belts, etc.) to Jack Victory and his investors.

Mr. Victory and his investors are now going to create a brand new promotion based out of New Jersey and is planning on running shows in different states but they have decided not to use the WORLD-1 name because they are going to go with a different style then what WORLD-1 was using. His group will have an announcement shortly on their name and dates.

The Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1 name will now be property of Pro-Wrestling ZERO-ONE to do with what they want. The WORLD-1 championship belt (currently held by Masato Tanaka), the WORLD-1 Openweight championship (vacant), the PWF heavyweight title belt (vacant), and PWF tag team titles (currently held and defended by Minoru Fujita and Ikuto Hidaka) are now property of ZERO-ONE. There are plans on brining the PWF heavyweight championship into ZERO-ONE in the near future.

It is not confirmed but more than likely WORLD-1 will have shows in Tokyo under the NWA and ZERO-ONE banners once a year like 01USA did in 2003 and 2004 but as of right now there are no plans to run shows in the United States.

The WORLD-1 website that was on the www.zerooneusa.com server will now be an English version of the Pro-Wrestling ZERO-ONE site. Any WORLD-1 or PWF news will be posted on this site.

We apoligize for any confusion and lack of news about Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1 and thank you for taking the time to read this.
