Bored 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2004 I had 273, but it doesn't look like that tiebreaker will come into play in any of the match-ups although again still waiting on the two replacements. I'll be making a change to the tiebreakers for week 2 but I'll get into that when I create the results thread.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2004 Bush is good, no question, but Virginia Tech IS a shadow of their former selves. Losing several players indefinitely for conduct reasons, Marcus Vick being #1 with a bullet, certainly didn't help. That being said, Oregon State is the only team besides Cal that has a prayer against USC the way things look right now. I think Cal gets destoryed this time as USC is looking for revenge. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2004 Well Dama, the "smug bastards" didn't lose their opener as you had hoped, but it was close. Ah......this game would've been a different story if they hadn't called the phantom pass interference. I mean USC might've still won but it might've been like 20-17. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted August 29, 2004 That phantom PI call was amended with the two huge penalties that USC got on VT's following drive. They just didn't capitalize.

Yeah but if it hadn't been called they would've been about the 7 yard line and probably gotten a TD putting them up 17-7. Hell if they went up 17-7 USC might've freaked. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2004 I was reading an article that said that USC should be worried about this season b/c the offense had so much trouble against a bad defense in the first half and basically until the pass interference call. I dunno....I thought VA's defense was playing hard. And once USC got comfortable they were doing great....I dunno if there offense will be as good without Williams though. I heard on Sporscenter that he scored 1 out of every 6 times he touched the ball.
phoenixrising 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 It's an offense that is working in a new line (I think only one is a senior and I believe there are a couple of freshmen starting) amd new recievers. It is going to take a few games before they really get rolling. And I think Tech's defense is pretty good, they have some pretty good players. The fortunate thing for USC is that after this game their non-conference schedule isn't that tough, so the offense will have some time to jell together before the Pac-10 schedule begins. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Well they'd better get better before they run into Cal.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted August 31, 2004 That's definitley true because if VT had Marcus Vick, they'd probably have a great shot at winning this game. And Oregon State gets USC in Corvallis this year, but USC's offense should probably be in gear by the time that game happens. Bullshit, Marcus Vick is a major downgrade from Randall. Vick can run pretty well but he sucks at passing.

Vick can run pretty well but he sucks at passing. I'll agree with that one. Randall rushed for 98 yards in the first quarter as it was! God that option game kills USC. But nobody in the god damn Pac 10 runs it! And nobody that they will probably face in the Orange Bowl(OU, LSU, Georgia) runs the damn option. Wait.....does Georgia?
