The tapes for part two included edited highlights of matches shown in previous weeks, which is why matches are being repeated. Unfortunately, New Japan doesn't tape enough individual shows throughout the year for brand new BS-Asahi 'World Pro Wrestling' programming each week (which is the show we use to produce the New Japan show), which is why we do and will, on occasion, repeat matches and show specials. However, tonight's show does feature two new matches. Firstly is an interesting match-up between Toru Yano and Yutaka Yoshie. Regular viewers will be familiar with Yoshie, but it's unlikely you will have seen much of Yano. He's a rather oddball type, best described as nuevo Sandman. His gimmick is that he drinks sake (lots of it) carries a bamboo stick which resembles an electronic female device of pleasure and has a habit of losing by DQ. Keep an eye on that. The main event is an exciting six-man bout between six of New Japan's best junior heavyweights. Lots of great action, so that's one not to miss. After that is BRAND SPANKING FRICKETY FRICK NOAH!!! The wait's been frustrating, but new NOAH we now have. Today's show features two very good matches. The first features Britain's own Doug Williams teaming with arguably the best wrestler in the world today, Kenta Kobashi, in a quality six-man battle. The show is headlined by a singles match between NOAH GHC junior tag team champ KENTA against Jun Akiyama. KENTA has had a series of 'Single Match Trial' bouts against a variety of different opponents this year and this one against the number one contender to Kobashi's GHC World title should be class. Keep an eye out for that. We conclude the evening with four competitive contests on GAEA. Highlights are a singles bout between two of the very best workers from a decade ago, Mayumi Ozaki and Toshiyo Yamada, Sakura Hirota's always hilarious comedy antics and hot main event between one-half of the tag team champs (Nagashima) and a member of the number one contender's team (Uematsu). Tomorrow night's New Japan Classics will feature one of the best matches of the nineties, which is Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Chris Benoit & Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger. Whatever you do, make an effort to watch it either tonight or during one of the replays. I'm off on holiday for a week, so I'll be kind and post matches for next Thursday (September 2nd): New Japan Classics- 9pm This will feature Tatsumi Fujinami challenging Shinya Hashimoto for the IWGP World title (from April 4, 1994). GAEA- 10pm 1 Ran Yu Yu vs. Meiko Satomura 2 Manami Toyota, Aja Kong & Lioness Aska vs. Carlos Amano, Sugar Sato & Ayako Hamada NOAH- 11pm 1 Akitoshi Saito, Masao Inoue & Jun Izumida vs. Shiro Koshinaka, Yoshinari Ogawa & Mitsuharu Misawa 2 Tsuyoshi Kikuchi vs. Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger 3 Ace Steel, Doug Williams & Bison Smith vs. Kotaro Suzuki, Yoshinari Ogawa & Mitsuharu Misawa Also, for Saturday 4th September: New Japan-11pm 1 Manabu Nakanishi vs. Shinsuke Nakamura 2 Katsuyori Shibata, Kazunari Murakami & Masahiro Chono vs. Shinya Makabe, Kendo Ka Shin & Yuji Nagata 3 Gedo & Jado vs. Curry Man & American Dragon Notes: The main matches to keep an eye out for from next week's bunch are the New Japan Classics IWGP World title match, the NOAH GHC Junior title bout, the GAEA six-women match and Curry Man and American Dragon's IWGP Jr. tag titles defence.
