Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted November 17, 2002 Sigur Ros--Track 4 Curse those Icelandic boys for not giving any of the songs on () titles. This is actually something that's been puzzling me about that album and that decision... if they released any singles, how would the DJ promote it on air? Track 4, like you did? Wouldn't that remove Sigur Ros' entire point of making an untitled album with untitled songs? Also, how are the files named on p2p networks? The same way? Anyway, is it a good album? This is a question from someone who's heard of Sigur Ros before but never any songs. Which tracks (hopefully some titled ones from their past efforts are included) would you recommend? Guest Incandenza Report post Posted November 17, 2002 I've heard nothing prior to that album, believe it or not. As for recommending stuff, tracks 4, 7 and 8 are really good.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted November 17, 2002 I've heard the album sucks, for the record. I don't know if that's a reaction to the album's undeniable pretentiousness (not naming the songs or the album) or if it actually is as dull as they say. My whole attitude towards post-rock has gone from "dig those slowly-developing glacial epics" to "fuck that glorified new age bullshit" since I purchased the first Sigur Ros album, so I doubt I'd enjoy it much. If you do like them, though, I'd definitely suggest d/ling "Ny Bateri" (or something along those lines), which is really the standout track from Agaetis Byrjun. The instrumentation on that one is impressive and it builds to a climax that's worth the wait.
