Prince. "Gett Off." Again. And again. And again.

Fuck expanding my horizons. I'm just gonna go buy everything he did from 80-92, then the Hits, and be set for the rest of my life.

El-P, "The Nang, The Front, The Bush And The Shit."

So many movements in 5 and a half minutes. Lasers, Vietnam, psychosomatics...perfect.

The Beatles-Twist n' Shout

I'm beginning to actually like them. I never did, but now I do.

Shadows Fall-Destroyer of Senses

Seen 'em pimped quite a bit, so I figured I'd give them a shot. Decent so far, but I haven't really got an opinion yet. I like the thrash elements mixed with the hardcore. Could do without the Metallica-type pacing and shit, though.

Shadows Fall-The Art of Balance

This just started and I already don't like it. Think Fade to Black, only call it The Art of Balance and you've got it.

Shadows Fall-Welcome to the Machine.

Gave it a couple spins, and color me unimpressed overall. Awesome solos, but awesome solos don't make a great album. The bass was pretty much nonexistent, which left it sounding pretty hollow to me. I didn't identify with the lyrics at all. (Are these guys religious? A Fire In Babylon certainly makes it seem like they are. Corey, help me out here.) The last track, while not my least favorite cover ever, certainly would be on the list were I to make one. I'm touchy about Floyd, though.

I dug a couple groove breakdowns they did, and all the solos owned, as I previously mentioned. The vocals were good for what they were, but like I said, the lyrics didn't do anything for me. Good riffs for the most part, and tight drumming. I'd call the album a 5.5/10.

And as always, I hated the ballad.
